Anyone spending money on anything other than videogames or warhammer is generationally wealthy according to this website.
Ironically with the skills the man has he is almost certainly spent a significant amount of his adult life working a blue collar job, managing to turn those skills into a successful business means he's the devil for enjoying it and he has a family!? The horror.
Everything he installed was brand new and designed for the exact purpose he used it for. Calling him skilled is like calling a kid who can put legos together skilled. Any adult with the money to buy the right materials could do what this man did.
Calm down champ, the level of socio-economic mobility is at an all time low in the US. If they are in the US, then it’s a better bet to assume they come from money, rather than a couple that looks like they’re 25, with multiple kids, being able to pull this off by having very high paying jobs. Not impossible, but my bet is they come from money
It's a fairly well known content creator trend, things people who already have a financial cushion do in their free time and also generate more money through content views.
Idk maybe look around? Maybe the wealth gap being the largest its ever been globally? Pretty safe to assume the people living adventurous lives like this had money stacked away first
Ha that’s absurd. The entire American west is rolling around in expensive ass camping vehicles these days. I don’t like it for myself but they don’t all have trust funds
Just got back from camping my way across the West and these were everywhere. Couldn’t pass by a scenic turnout along the Pacific coast without seeing at least one.
Plenty of $70k+ trucks pulling $100k campers too.
But it’s the vans that get the hate.
If I bundled my vacation budget for the 10 years vs the cost of one of these vans for 10 years, it’s probably a wash.
Plane tickets for a whole family, hotel rooms, dinners out, rental cars, etc all adds up quick. Meanwhile, this is one up front cost, and then I’m ready to go aside from fuel and maintenance.
I met a lot of people on the road when I lived in an RV. Very few of them were rich or had nice vans like this, most were DIY with used scrap, people trying to be travel bums and seeing how long they can go. I think your only exposure to this type of lifestyle is youtube, from the comfort of your couch.
I've lived out of a car I converted to be a decent sleeping space before I'm familiar with other people that are forced to live out of their vehicles sleeping in walmart parking lots. That's why I didn't say all camper van conversions I said these kind of camper van conversions and you agreed just said it with a disagreeing tone because you don't want to be the curmudgeon.
I can see you've converted a camper before because you're definitely camping long term in that holier than thou space.
The problem is a lot of people are struggling so it's perfectly understandable to feel bitter. It has nothing to do with whether someone earned their money or not.
Seriously, Jesus fucking Christ. Does everyone have to be constantly miserable on this website these days? It's a fun video with a cool project. Why does they definitely ruin the day of half of you?
This isn't even an insane level of wealth to be able to achieve. You're not gonna get it working at Walmart or whatever but it's absolutely possible with some initiative and a lot of hard work.
Why not go and be pissy at the people owning mega yatchs and flying constantly on private jets as opposed to someone who tricked out a van
For real, they're obviously very good at it. Buy empty van, make it very nice with a shitload of knowhow and hard work, make video for social media monies, sell van to rich person, profit
Just because your highest aspiration was to putz around working as a barista while you “figure things out” does not mean everyone doing better than you is a trust fund baby.
To be fair, they’re going to spend an absurd amount of time fixing everything when it breaks because that’s what RVs and custom jobs like that do best if they do anything more than sit still.
Being able to drop $100,000+ on a van while using 50,000 in tools, in your multi hundreds of thousands of dollar house, while probably not even being 40? Maybe not trust fund, but daddy has money surely
Could be, but I have better things to do than fawn over how someone else spends their wealth. It's a pretty big issue nowadays that people have to constantly see their lives in comparison to the upper classes
Better things like ... criticizing how someone else spends their wealth. Its a pretty big issue nowadays that people have to constantly see their lives in comparison to the upper classes.
Yeah I wish I did too, that’d be sick. That’s got nothing to do with this video tho. I could also use some wings and fries right now tbh, I’m kinda hungry.
