Calm down champ, the level of socio-economic mobility is at an all time low in the US. If they are in the US, then it’s a better bet to assume they come from money, rather than a couple that looks like they’re 25, with multiple kids, being able to pull this off by having very high paying jobs. Not impossible, but my bet is they come from money
It's a fairly well known content creator trend, things people who already have a financial cushion do in their free time and also generate more money through content views.
Idk maybe look around? Maybe the wealth gap being the largest its ever been globally? Pretty safe to assume the people living adventurous lives like this had money stacked away first
Ha that’s absurd. The entire American west is rolling around in expensive ass camping vehicles these days. I don’t like it for myself but they don’t all have trust funds
Just got back from camping my way across the West and these were everywhere. Couldn’t pass by a scenic turnout along the Pacific coast without seeing at least one.
Plenty of $70k+ trucks pulling $100k campers too.
But it’s the vans that get the hate.
If I bundled my vacation budget for the 10 years vs the cost of one of these vans for 10 years, it’s probably a wash.
Plane tickets for a whole family, hotel rooms, dinners out, rental cars, etc all adds up quick. Meanwhile, this is one up front cost, and then I’m ready to go aside from fuel and maintenance.
I met a lot of people on the road when I lived in an RV. Very few of them were rich or had nice vans like this, most were DIY with used scrap, people trying to be travel bums and seeing how long they can go. I think your only exposure to this type of lifestyle is youtube, from the comfort of your couch.
I've lived out of a car I converted to be a decent sleeping space before I'm familiar with other people that are forced to live out of their vehicles sleeping in walmart parking lots. That's why I didn't say all camper van conversions I said these kind of camper van conversions and you agreed just said it with a disagreeing tone because you don't want to be the curmudgeon.
I can see you've converted a camper before because you're definitely camping long term in that holier than thou space.
