I sincerely doubt they are living in that van 24/7. If this is your interest and your spouse shares it, the marriage should not be tested by the occasional weekend trip in it.
I said liking someone doesn't mean you're immune to resentment and emotional stress - even if you like them a lot. People need their personal space, and they're allowed to have their own boundaries. You shouldn't have to give those up just because you like someone. And refusing to give up your boundaries doesn't mean you dislike someone. It means you have self respect.
Not necessarily. If you like the other person, it's much easier to find solutions to these kinds of problems, than if you resent them. Just talk and be interested in what they need.
You don't even need to have been in a relationship to get this. Just having a roommate should be enough to understand living in a tiny van with someone will quickly lose whatever charm it initially had.
Oh nice. So we're on the same page. This might be down to personal preference then, but I don't think my relationship with a good friend or SO would be improved by living out of a fucking van.
Matters fuck all if at least one of you is the type of person that just needs some alone time sometimes. I like my spouse and friends, but I need my alone time.
Me and my SO are both that type of person, and we can manage just fine. It takes communication and a willingness to fulfill the other's needs, I.E. you need to actually like them.
My spouse and I always talked about building a tiny home or the like. We ended up moving into a 412sqft studio and then COVID happened. We learned that we could definitely handle a tiny home no problem. I will say sharing a bathroom does suck when one person has food poisoning.
I dunno man, if my parents hooked up a van and told me we were gonna live in it while traveling across the country, well, I woulda thought they were the best parents ever.

Takes a strong marriage to be cooped up in a van 24/7 365 and not end up hating each other.
