Almost like they know nothing will happen to them and the elections will just happen even if no ballots get sent out. Nothing like this admin has happened before and our democracy is being tested

This midterm election is going to be a pass/fail exam of our republic. If Trump and his Republicans get their way then it will be a fail and our republic will no longer exist. This is it citizens! What kind of country do you want going forward: a democratic republic or a dictatorship/oligarchy? Pick one.

No, we didn't fail then. We failed because the online left fell for the most obvious Russian propaganda campaign to get people not to vote I have ever seen. I called it in November of 2023 that the online left would use Gaza as an excuse to elect Trump and I was right.

Can't wait for the next bullshit reason the left uses to let the Republicans win

Strange, didn't you just say there was no significant loss of leftists? 4 million seems to be a MASSIVE fucking number. Especially when four years before Biden got 81 million as opposed to Kamala's 77 million. It's simple math, 81-77= 4 million. You lot keep trying to avoid the blame you share with child rapist worshipping MAGAts.

What were your weak excuses? Her support of genocide? When she had already stopped taking AIPAC donations, had stopped speaking at AIPAC events, was openly calling Gaza a genocide, and was spearheading the pier to get supplies to the Palestinians.

No primary? You mean we had no primary for the incumbent president, and if he had kicked the bucket it would still be Kamala?

She was a cop? You just completely ignore any context of her prosecutions and the cases she prosecuted.

I did what I was supposed to, I voted for Kamala because she was the best path forward. You lot were fooled by propaganda that didn't hold up to the lowest level of scrutiny. You got duped by divide and conquer and you haven't learned. That's why you called everything that we've lost as Americans and the world as a whole, irrelevant.

Do you spend any time here? People STILL talk about Gaza as the most important issue. AIPAC is going to be used as an excuse to let Republicans win in races they shouldn't this election.

Biden made a lot of mistakes, but the online left decided that Trump was preferable to someone who wasn't perfect. This is exactly how we got Trump both times. We need to stop pretending this isn't a huge issue and actually acknowledge that the left is more okay with fascism than they want to admit.

No, we got Trump the first time because Hillary took for granted and completely ignored critical states. We got Trump the second time because we switched candidates most of the way through the race and Biden's campaign restricted Kamala's control meaning she barely got to run a campaign at all. The Dems have repeatedly screwed up their campaigns all on their own. Blaming the left is just ignorance.

I already know which one. Americans have shown time and time again we want things to be easy and aren’t willing to do what needs to be done, which at the moment is far more than just voting. We’re cooked. I’m not a doomer by any means. Get out and vote while you still fucking can, but it’s going to take a lot more and I don’t see people jumping to defend anything with action if it takes more than a few steps. I have hope for humanity…I just don’t see Americans doing what needs to be done beyond voting. We couldn’t even do that… The people currently in charge are going to cheat. They’ve already cheated and we didn’t do much of anything.

We are all guilty of that, yes. I could very likely be doing more. Notice I use a collective “we”. I work for a non for profit. I’ve helped in planning and attending protests all over my state. My state has single handedly chased Vance out. I also help by creating art and signs for protests. I participated in various resistance groups during college. I have helped all of my trans friends to plan a way out if they are in trouble and volunteered to transport them if need be. What else do you think I should be doing as an individual? What do you think we should all be doing together?

Let’s workshop this. I’m totally open to that and willing to do my part.

We did do that. The last two presidential elections have been the highest turnouts in the past century. The problem is not people showing up to vote. The problem is the structure of our voting system and the fact that a significant portion of Americans legitimately support fascism.

Nope. US citizens are being tested.

There is no way to harden a political system completely as rule and law are only as good as people are willing to uphold and abide by them.

We have been conditioned to believe that the only checks and balances are legislative, executive and judicial, but the final check comes from the public. As long as the people believe that all of these problems are somebody else's responsibility to deal with, you will always allow those with aspirations to corrupt the system.

I think this is the last check before the civil war that’s been slowly building goes hot. This seems to me to be the last sanity check for the “by the book” large majority of people that are not happy with the way the country is going. I’m legitimately scared about what happens next.
