Discussion rs3 to osrs

so im not "MAXED" in rs3 but have max skills to atleast 99, and above i have 1 120, been playing for years, but on/off i got a decent cash stack and gear,

i know how to make money etc on rs3. and how 100m-500m is really nothing
i keep going back to osrs to "try" out this time i think im stuck with it, now im not the most amazing player on eaither rs3 or osrs, but im kind of enjoing osrs more than rs3 at the moment, if you want to check my high scores my rsn is Volanaro, as you will see not the highest in skill levels, iv managed to do Desert Treasure I, this is a duscussion/question, what is the best way to make money at my level with magic or range, magic is 75, range is 68, iv just started the slayer grind, but im guessing its bosses?, what bosses for my level? would be amazing help if possible, i need better gear but im pretty much treating this as a new game, "im not asking for handouts" if thats what your thinking lol

but atm im proper into osrs
thanks for the help

Just wondering how functional something like this would be considered how many keybinds are needed for high end pvming.

Would also be interested in Mice recommendations with key bindable buttons if you have any.

Suggestion The next league's clue relic needs to do something about puzzles.

Pretty much just the title. This was already an issue in Catalyst, mind you. I have genuinely enjoyed the clue relic this league because the region locking slims the clue list greatly and master clues, for example, are 99% rerollable with the backpack to not include any puzzles in my region picks. HOWEVER, there is one massive exception: Elite clues.

They're already my least favorite tier in the main game and for the same reason as in leagues: Nearly every damn step has a puzzle box or a celtic knot. Sure, I can usually bang them both out in less than a minute, but especially in a league setting where in every other tier I can complete the whole trail in 30 seconds to 2 minutes, they kill the flow.

Easiest solution would be to make the clue relic either drop the skip ticket prices or multiply the amount of points we receive. Alternatively it could store puzzle skip charges on a separate device but that seems like a convoluted solution when something easier is available.

Question How to make magic match Necro DPS?

My main concern is how can I have my magic DPS be the same as my Necromancy DPS? For example. With necromancy, i consistently hit 5k plus hits without a problem. Even on my basic abilities. Yet with magic, even with best in slot gear, the max damage I hit on most abilities is 3-4k. For example on my Wild magic ability I hit 2 hits that never seem to go over 2-3k damage per hit. What do I need to do in order for my magic dps to be close to that of my necromancy?

Bug Slayer helm bonuses + Tuska's Wrath don't work in DG

I'm on a Creatures of Daemonheim slayer task and noticed that my Slayer helm bonuses aren't working whilst in a dg floor.

I have the Slayer helm mounted on the Anachronia stand, but the bonuses don't seem to apply to the guardians in the floor.

Tuska's Wrath also doesn't work properly either yet it works fine on the surface.

Leagues Black Stone Heart

Upvotes

I know it’s my fault I didn’t pick the wildy region. But if you are boosting godsword shard rates, why not boost the Zemouregal & Vorkath loot chests as well. We are all trying to get bis depending on our chosen regions but please do these boosts across the board. This I feel was left off. I can now make 5+ sets of full Elite Dracolith range set. And still only received 1 black stone heart drop. Yes, rng killed me but it should be boosted. Who is with me?

Discussion How Leagues fits into Road to Restoration

Hello! I am going to preface this by saying that I know it may be somewhat unpopular.

But I am vaguely aware that there is a fairly large contingent of players who solely play RuneScape (the main game) without too much interaction with other versions like OSRS or Leagues.

Jagex obviously started the Road to Restoration to restore integrity to the game, and I think it’s been overwhelmingly good. But I can’t help but feel that the deployment of Leagues (including the time and resources that must be dumped into it) sort of kind of interferes with the release of new/updated content that relates back to the Road to Restoration.

For example - we got this big Construction update. I think the bones of the update are really cool! But… it’s far from a finished product. Then, shortly after the construction update, Leagues II was released, and so much time, marketing, etc. has gone into Leagues (which, personally is a mode that interests me very little). All the while, the Construction update - while good - feels somewhat half baked.

I mean no disrespect to Leagues lovers! I get that it can be fun for some people. And I am not so naïve as to think that my opinion is the right one, or that my feeling is the only one needing to be addressed. Just curious what others’ thoughts and feelings on this were. Would love any input :-)

Question Getting Started (Ironman) to-do list?

I know this is kind of an odd request, but a long long to-do list to set up your account to mid game was extremely helpful to get me back into OSRS when I restarted playing like a decade ago. I would really like to try RS3 again, but I feel totally lost. Does anyone know if something like:

Boaty's HCIM guide:

https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Guide:B0aty_HCIM_Guide_V3

or

Mootrius IM Guide:

https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Guide:Mootrius_Ironman_Guide

Is available for RS3? I really just need some guidance of WHAT to do lol.

Question Enrage streak menu question

I'm doing enrage Arch-Glacor in leauges. I'm getting really annoyed with how much of the fight is just menuing at this point. Even with the streamlined menu it's literally

  • Dive to the portal
  • Check reward
  • Click again to exit
  • Click to the portal
  • Click to start fight
  • Get told that old instance is still open
  • Select to start new instance
  • Begin fight

It's genuinely kind of ridiculous that it takes that many steps between fights with Glacor. I spend more time menuing than I do fighting.

Any advice on how to Actually streamline the system?

Question Can someone explain Dungeoneering floor buffs for me? THE wiki and UI are extremely barebones and its not functioning as described

The UI doesnt really give any detail about how it works, just 1 row is a slightly different shade and I guess thats the active one? Its not highlighted in a noticable way.

But then the wiki says its per floor theme. So like if you complete 3 frozen floors, you are gonna get buff 4 on your next floor? Thats how the wiki makes it seem.

But then if I do 3 frozen floors and switch to an abandoned floor (of which ive done 0), the highlighted buff doesnt change, so the UI at least is telling me im getting the same buff next no matter what.

Its very confusing and the wiki and in game UI conflict.

So far I got the xp bonus on my 9th total floor done (5th frozen floor) and my 10th floor done (4th abandoned floor), so im super confused how to read this

Discussion Boss drop transmutation should be a core reward of Divination.

I propose that you should be able to transmute a boss' rare drops into any other rare drop from that same boss if they share the same drop rate.

This wouldn't complete collection logs but would remove the headache of trying to get upgrades and getting stuck with 6 gloves and no helms for example.

Invention has already paired the price of these drops if they share rare components, and this has already been applied to EGWD weapon fragments.

So I propose they apply this as a core mechanic of Divination for all bosses.

Discussion I feel like leaving my clan and I feel awful over it

It's not like it was in its hayday, these days we're lucky if five active clanmates are on to be able to visit the citadel to keep it open for those who might need the avatar habitat xp boost. Heck every week I gotta private message clan mates who are on to remind them to visit or go on discord to ask some of the inactive ones to.
The ones I really liked back in the day have either quit, passed away or left to join other clans/go solo. I'm the Clan Owner now, the third in the 20 years or so since I joined. The previous owner left the clan in the interim and still plays.
If I leave it feels like I'm betraying everyone and the memories I've made. I'm also worried about if the inactive clan mates do come back and don't have a friendly (graphic)face waiting. Or if the next person in charge will take care of things, considering nobody seems to care.
I know real life stuff takes precedence over a game, but it felt like we made something great together, and now it's just... over.
So now I don't know what to do. Any suggestions?

Discussion What is the actual scope and goals of the end game rebalance?

The mid game rebalance was quite frankly a wet noodle nothing burger of an update that made people jokingly ask which jmod was stuck dry on their collection logs. It seems with the end-game rebalance people are largely asking for sweeping overhauls of gear, modernization of boss mechanics, and skilling xp rebalancing - but its difficult to imagine that given the scale of our previous rebalances that the end game changes can really capture any of that.

The problems with the endgame are largely that: The majority of bosses are killed for nothing more than their collection logs/pets/achievements because their uniques are useless. Invention is plagued by gambling aspects and narrow scope of perks/rare components - it props up drops from like 7 bosses and 4 are from gwd2 - MTX items reintroduced through invention are prohibitively expensive to create (Springs, notepaper, patch bombs etc).

Arch relics power is wildly out of proportion with their level requirements, what does the data actually say about how often each is used? Divination is too slow to train normally outside of dungeoneering methods. Burial smithing is prohibitively expensive and not widely engaged with, and yet it was copied 4 times across 3 different skills where it is even MORE expensive and less engaged with. Outside of thieving/hunter, every skill expansion has failed to release methods that are more gold/time efficient than previous existing methods - often just offering burial smithing version 5 or in construction's case a blue recolor of previous planks for marginal increased xp rates/greatly increased cost.

Question Scav 4 bug?

Hey guys, I'm working on an alt account and have had scav 4 since 95 prayer, I'm now 99 and I have not received a single rare component drop. This is very unusual as I would normally have a ton at this amount of kills on other chars. I'm at about 14,200 kills now and no rares.

Leagues Leagues Review as a first timer

Thumbnail
gallery
17 Upvotes

Background: - I have been playing off and on for 15 years, mainly a skiller and not a fan of PvM. I tend to second screen RS working for 5.8 on my main and when I have the time to active play, I'm making money on my alt to fund the main. I enjoy "watching number go up" and never really enjoyed PvM, unsure if that's because I am bad at clicking/doing multiple things at once or because it looks daunting. I use Revo when I PvM. I was also on a break during the first leagues so didnt experience that at all.

Leagues: - Because of this, Leagues looked daunting. Everyone's getting excited about crit/poison builds, theory crafting the best route to the most power, what areas to unlock for which bosses, what drops provide the highest prayer bonus for the lord of light build etc. Daunting. I was honestly reluctant to play, I don't PvM, what if majority of high level tasks are PvM for bosses I don't even know exist because when they were released, I wasn't interested. But through all this, I thought "well if I try it and don't like it, I just wont play it", simple enough.

Leagues update rolls around and I log in, HOLY SH*T. Lumbridge looks like the underground tube station in London during rush hour. I LOVE IT. I check the leagues tasks and they're all quick easy tasks, kill cows, goblins, fish, mine, woodcut, hundreds if not thousands of people doing the same thing. People are actively chatting, helping each other out, giving tips/tricks on what to do/where to go to accomplish XYZ. This is what Runescape used to feel like, ALIVE.

I am running around like a headless chicken, I NEED TO MAKE A CAKE, WHERE THE HELL DO I MINE TIN, WAIT, LUMBRIDGE HAS CATACOMBS?! It was humbling being a 15 year vet playing and not knowing how to do basic early game content because I haven't needed to in years or I simply didn't even know it existed.

This adrenaline feeling I had, the excitement, the turn in your belly discovering something new and the thrill of adventure has never hit me hardest. Even as I write this, it makes me smile with excitement because of the amount of fun I had giving Leagues a try.

Progression was nice, slowly moving through the world of Gielinor, exploring new areas completing tasks as you go along, finding new unexplored areas filled with people doing the same as you. Leveling skills in ways I have never done before. The Mining and Smithing rework, I completed 120 in these skills on my main before the rework and haven't touched it since, whoever created that needs a pat on the back, its so seamless and flows together with creating melee armour and weapons so nicely. It's a shame the same cant be said about magic/range gear, this seriously needs an overhaul, especially for magic. I genuinely didn't use magic at all this leagues because I have no idea how to get appropriate magic armour. I guess you can use mystic until you reach GWD2 (if you chose that region) but then what?

At this point, I AM HOOKED. I'm talking any free time I have... I'm playing leagues. I'm on the train to work... playing leagues, I'm on the porcelain throne... playing leagues. I feel like I'm racing for worlds first (no-where near) and I cannot wait to log in and get points, to try new things, to experience new areas and soak up everything. But then what comes with... the dreaded... PvM.

I filter the Wiki by tasks with the most points and I see it. KILL XYZ for 400 POINTS. COMPLETE COMBAT MASTERY FOR XYZ FOR 400 POINTS. EQUIP A LVL 95 WEAPON FOR 400 POINTS. f*ck. Is this where my journey ends? Will I ever reach dragon without doing this stuff? Well the short answer is yes, yes you can. However, just because you can doesn't mean you should. So lets figure out what these "blessing" things are and give it a crack. I will summarise my terrible story telling by telling you my opinions on this.

Blessings: - I understand they need to be challenging, they offer good combat benefits and you need to feel like you've achieved something when you complete a blessing task, but I wish there were more. Again remember that I dont PvM, and I am not asking them to cater to me- yes I probably am autistic (aren't we all) but I do wish I had a few "easier" combat tasks. At one point, I was so close to lord of light, but the only realistic task I could do with the area I had was a Solo KK. ME.. A SOLO KK. That's like using hot sauce and lube. It just doesn't work. And you know what, maybe that was the point, because it did push me to look up a guide and figure out how to dodge his green booger attack and It took an hour and a half but I got one kill, then realised I left the instance on 5 players so it didn't count and had to do it over again (I take responsibility for that one though).

I did eventually toward the end of my dragon trophy grind end up killing Rasial, Arch Glacor, Amby, doing all the ED's I had access to, Raksha, somehow, I absolutely cheesed a 4K Telos kill (shout out to the reddit comments on a post I read about 4K Telos) and I did end up enjoying some of the PvM. I think it helps that I was overpowered with a lord of light build and it made me not have so much anxiety going into kills that I could actually learn mechanics.

On this point, Please Jagex allow for bosses to have a mode like arch glacor, it was so nice learning mechanics slowly as I felt ready rather than just "here you go, get on with it". This is how you get people like me into PvM. I am now prepared to give Arch-Glacor a crack on my main because it genuinely helped me and didn't feel overwhelming.

Side note; I have never used the Wiki more in my life (shout out to everyone who edits that because that was so helpful and must have been an absolute mission to keep updated).
To spare you all the long post, Ill skip to the mid-late game of leagues

Instead of rambling on (and making this post as long as the bible), I will summarise a few key points that I feel need to be mentioned, both positive and negative aspects of each.

Tasks: - The task system was great, some random ones on there but that's part of the fun, seeing areas you never thought you would and doing things you never could have imagined (or even existed). Some Tasks definitely need a rebalance, some 200 point tasks need to be worth 400 (I'm looking at you Leng weapons) and there needs to be a rebalance in each category, I spent more time completing 30 point tasks than I did 80 point tasks which doesnt make sense.

Regions:- I didn't mind the region locking, it makes you think harder about your choices however it does feel punishing. I dont expect the whole world to be unlocked (maybe this can be a thing for the final week of Leagues to let people test their PvM builds on different bosses they didnt have access to) but I ended up choosing wildy mainly for dungeoneering because I wanted to max, not because I actually wanted the wilderness.

Quests:- I mean this with as much respect as possible. Like F*ck am I doing quests on a limited time game mode. I hate quests in main game and hate that the content I want is on the other side of a storyline from god knows what age I'm supposed to be playing in. This usually wouldn't bother me and id avoid them but I chose the relic that gave me the void shards which give me a chance at dragon equipment, ahh amazing, at least when im level 60 I can use my battleaxe and off-hand dragon battleaxe to save me smithing for it, NOPE. WOMP WOMP. Need a quest for that, also need a quest for a million other dragon items which effectively rendered that part of the relic useless because It annoyed me enough to begin smithing all my gear every 10 levels.

Endgame:- I lost the excitement, it became a slog, I couldn't do any of my 200 or 400 point tasks which means I was spending time going through 30 and 80 pointers (some of which were completely fine) but it it felt like a huge jump between rune > dragon and I lost motivation. I logged on, done tasks I didn't enjoy just to get dragon trophy and stop.

I wholeheartedly loved the beginning-middle and even some of the late game content but I just wish there were more tasks that were higher points. I pushed myself out of my comfort zone for PvM to try to get points and it worked, and that was probably the intention, to get people doing things they don't usually do, but there came a point I genuinely couldn't figure out a boss, I couldn't do any more 200/400 pointers and I lost interest.

I sincerely hope that Jagex takes notes from this leagues to improve the next one and to also address the issues in main game, some of which being; older bosses needing updating (hopefully coming with endgame rework), the fact there is no clear progression in magic armour/weapons, (melee has mining/smithing rework, ranging has dragonhide, what does magic have?), an increase in tasks and more points awarded for tasks.

Overall I did enjoy my first Leagues, I will not be as hesitant for the next one and I hope Jagex listen to all the feedback and make relevant changes where possible.

Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk
