That is true, unless they are one in the same. I deal with this type of system on a daily basis where the power and control are combined and are utilized for multiple purposes simultaneously while also being in conjunction with one another. BUT YES!!! TYPICALLY YOU WOULD/GENERALLY FOR A BETTER UNDERSTANDING!! THANK YOU

This is a step by step process. It will be shown in another post. But as stated in comment replies, the "seal-in" can be created just by additional contacts on your switch/button. It can also be created through your device/load , i.e. the light. This is just a basic drawing for fundamentals which is being built apon becoming more ad with each post. THANK YOU😁

So yes and no. A seal-in can be a "relay" but not not necessarily. A seal-in is is something that is tied into whatever your specific function/operation is, so when it is engaged, it will continuously supply power without having to continue to manually do it yourself. So basically what you said in a sense yes!!! Keep in mind, this is my basic understanding of the topic and I do not know everything, we are all here to learn. Im jist trying to share what I know and try to learn more!!

Yes this is TRUE. It can also be dependent on what type of Auxiliary contacts you add to your start as well (N.O./N.C.). European control systems, at least the ones in am familiar with, do this quite often without the use of a relay. BUT YES!!!😁 Thank you so much for your input. I would very much like to see your re creation of this circuit

This is Pt.2 of the 3-wire drawing, technically no longer a 3-wire ;)
Same concept as the 3-wire stop start, but now you see the stop/ e-stop is normally closed, which is how it generally is in the field (depending on the set of contacts you are using), the start is no longer momentary, meaning it has a seal-in which means when it is pressed, this set of contacts is open and when energized becomes closed, which will hold power until it is disconnected up stream via the e-stop. Which now brings us to our light, or load which then ties to the neutral to complete the circuit. Please keep in mind that this is just a simple circuit and is meant as a step by step process for educational purposes only. All input and opinions are accepted and appreciated, though I ask to always be respectful! We are all here to learn, including myself!

GREAT QUESTION! So more often than not at first you will generally be used as as sort of work horse/maid. You'll be doing the things others dont want to do. You'll be low man on the job. But, with this You'll have a better chance than others on learning new things compared to those who are above you. Pay attention when people speak, ask questions, watch and see what tools are used for certain tasks. You should be able to basically read the mind of whoever you are working with, by this i mean you already have the tool in your hand ready for them, or the material ready. Take notes of material, or different methods. Show commitment. Never ever say "i can't ". Dont get discouraged. Life is hard, so do what ya can to be positive and optimistic, even when you are digging a ditch. People will notice these things. And then you will be trusted with more and more tasks, have more opportunities that others wont have. But above all else, remember to always try and be better than you were the day before. All of this probably sounds cheesey or basic, but I promise you that it is true. I can attest to it. We are all in this together!

Yes, you are correct. But as i stated, this is a step by step process, at which each post will have something added to it to make it more advanced. Yes you are correct about the seal-in, but as you just mentioned, it technically isn't needed. As far as the stop being closed which i also stated previously, that technically isn't needed either. It is all depending on what you want to do with your circuit yourself. This is basic and simple. Meant to be adjusted and edited by anyone who wants to learn and add their input. Just like you have😁 so I thank you very much for doing so. This is why I created this community, we can all learn together

I appreciate your input, if you look at my description it explains that you would have a device/load/motor/etc (load) off of the Start which would make a complete circuit. This is meant as a step by step process. As I stated you can add so much to this diagram. This is just the start of it. In no way is meant for actual applicant at this stage. Only for informational purposes. We can all learn together. That is why I created the community, this way everyone can benefit. And I can have the opportunity to learn from people all across the world.

I know exactly what ya mean. The hardest thing to learn is the ability to teach yourself. You have to be willing to go above and beyond and do extra work in order to learn. Whether it be on the job, at school, or at home. Watch videos, fact check, draw things out, try to get some scrap wire and controls parts (switches, relays, coils, lights, motors, terminal blocks, power supply, etc.) And start testing things yourself. Learn how to use a meter properly, whether it be ohms, amps, or volts. Doing this will set you for success and put you light-years ahead of many Apprentices and journeyman. I can't tell you home many journeyman ive worked with that dont know how to use a meter, or troubleshoot, or EVEN MAKE A 3-WAY SWITCH FUNCTION PROPERLY!!! You have to count on yourself to further yourself. And hopefully others will see your efforts and try to teach and help you as well. We are all here to learn. Even journeyman. No one can know everything. Thats why it is called "continual learning ". We never stop improving ourselves. This is why I created this community. I and a few others have sadly had some horrible experiences in the field and TERRIBLE experiences within the school. My 1st and 2nd year, I myself and 2 others had to teach our class the material. Yes. Apprentices teaching Apprentices within the school. Why? Because the instructors didn't know the material, and they didn't care. So we would study in advance, arrive a few hours early, stay late, work on weekends, all so we could help out our fellow classmates and anyone else who wanted help. It's not easy. But it will pay off. Slowly. I for one can attest to this. I am still low man. But because I put in an effort, I am more knowledgeable than some others (not by much), but this gives me an edge and allows me to do and accomplish tasks that Foreman typically wont trust Apprentices to do. Patience is key. Determination is key. If you need any help with school or wanting to understand something, I will do what I can to help. We are all a team, no matter what local, or contractor, or job.
