Tuition/Aid 💰 Anyone else still not seeing their financial aid award package on myUCF?

Upvotes

I’m a second-year graduate student at UCF, and I still don’t see my financial aid award package on myUCF.

I submitted my FAFSA back in June and also applied for a Grad PLUS Loan. This is not my first time applying for loans for this degree, so I’m familiar with the process.

I called Financial Aid on the first day of classes, and they told me there were delays in processing financial aid applications. I called again last Friday, and they told me that I had met all the requirements for my loans, they had received all of my required documents, but my application simply hadn’t been processed yet. They said I would most likely see my financial aid package reflected on myUCF by Monday or Tuesday.

Well, it’s almost Wednesday and I still don’t see anything. 😭

I’m getting really worried bbecause the tuition/payment deadline is September 4, and I absolutely do not have enough money to pay the balance out of pocket while waiting for my loans to be processed.

Has anyone else, especially graduate students who applied for Grad PLUS Loans, had this issue? Have you received your award package yet, or are you still waiting for it to show up on myUCF?

I’m trying not to panic, but the deadline being so close is making me really nervous.

Tuition/Aid 💰 Financial Aid Reduction to Pell Grant

Upvotes

Did anyone else get their Pell grant reduced? I just checked, and mine was originally 7200 for the academic year. I just checked for fall today, and it got reduced from 3000-something down to 1000-something, which completely cooks me for the rest of the semester because how tf am i gonna pay for the shi i need to pay for now? I really need to know if anyone else had this happen to them.

Tuition/Aid 💰 residency mistake

turns out when filling out my ucf app, i misclicked and selected the out of state program (face smack) and just NOW realized why my tuition was so high. im fully relying on financial aid grants which i was finally able to receive today which doesn't even cover a fraction of the 8k that's due. i've went ahead and contacted+emailed the residency review along with the forms and documents, what do you guys think my chances are on getting this fixed despite the fact that the 2nd week has just started? this is unbelievably frustrating im not even sure how this happened on my end...

When you log into your Florida Prepaid account (not the UCF portal), does anyone see that credit hours have been used for Fall 2026?

Academic ✏️ GEB 3006 To-DO Points. Everything is full

Post image
10 Upvotes

Taking every business major’s favorite class, GEB3006 with Denise McFadden, and I’ve read a ton of posts saying you need to sign up for TODO point events as early as possible. I’m trying to do exactly that, but I’ve already run into a problem:

Literally every single event is full. Already.

The deadline for the first 15 points is October 9th, and every single event I can find between now and then says the same thing: “Full Event. Event has already reached capacity.”

I’ve gone through every category she lists: OPD Career Cluster, EXCHANGE networking opportunities, Experiential Learning Workshops, Blackstone LaunchPad- all of them. Every single event before October 9th is full.

Even the Volunteer UCF events are full because she requires a 3-hour minimum, and they only have 3 events before Halloween that long.

If I can’t get into any of the standard events, the other options for earning points are things like “secure an offer for a new internship” or “obtain a pilot’s license,” which I don't think I need to explain how that's not exactly a realistic task.

Am I missing something here? Is there another secret way to get points, or am I basically screwed because everything she provides is full before week 2?

Academic ✏️ starting research as a grad student

I just started as a digital forensics major and am interested in starting research with one of the labs here. the issue is, I dont know anything. I never did research as an undergrad cs major and only became more solid in what I want to do the summer I graduated. specifically, I'm interested in usable privacy and security, as well as tech policy adjacent stuff...

I already know about the lab directory for CECS, but do any of them expect you to have prior lab/research experience? How do I go about getting that without being an undergrad?

Sorry if this seems like a really obvious question, but I'm just feeling kinda lost and intimidated when it comes to reaching out to professors when I'm just getting started.

Parking 🚗⚠️🚙 At what capacity do they close off the parking garages?

New to classes on campus and I’ve been checking the parking garages online and seeing plenty of spaces open, but when I get there, there is signs up that says it’s full and it’s blocked off. Is there a certain percentage where I should just expect to go find parking elsewhere

Tuition/Aid 💰 FA Loans

Has anyone been offered any loans? I keep checking my FA summary and the accept/decline tab for loans and only have grants. I know FA was screwed and took/is taking longer than normal because of the big beautiful bill for a lot of people.

But I’m not sure if I fall into that group or that I just maxed out my loans. I remember they sent me an email at the end of spring or summer semester that said that I was close. But I assumed that they would offer me a smaller amount in loans for the rest of my time to finish my degree since I was close to maxing out. Not sure what’s going on really.

Academic ✏️ physio in the fall

I’m really stupid and applied for physio late so i was on the waitlist for a while and didn’t realise i was enrolled until august 31st, it’s my last class before J can apply for the nursing program (which i missed because the deadline was yesterday)

My issue is, I withdrew because on my end it says i’m still waitlisted at 18 but it still added me into the class. i know i shouldn’t have withdrew, im dumb asf for that but i was confused as to how i got added into the class if i was waitlisted. I don’t want to pay the fees so im going to talk to the registrars office, but my other big issue is that i work hhn, im worried about how i will do because ive read multiple different things about the professor and im worried about doing poorly.

Is the class really hard? Would i be able to pull through with at least a b? it’s with Ahangari, and i’ve read varying accounts about it, if you’ve taken it before/recently, what’s your best advice and are the lectures mandatory? tyia

COMPLAINT/RANT The state of Aves @ Twelve 100

Moved into The Aves about two weeks ago, and the trash has basically been piling up ever since. The big, beautiful mountains of garbage really add something special to the parking garage, especially the smell.
I didn’t even include all of the trash in these photos because there’s simply too much of it. It’s everywhere: dragged around by cars, stepped on by people, and swished around by the rain because it never drains properly.
Blocking a handicap parking spot? Possible code violation, anyone?
But don’t worry, the leasing office is pristine that rent money has to be going somewhere right?. The second you step outside, though, welcome to the Thunderdome: piles of trash, standing water , and insane drivers.
Really creates a wonderful environment for residents.
Do yourself a favor and don’t come live here

Update 1: So this morning I contacted Orange County 311 and filed a complaint about the trash situation. The representative was very polite and helpful, and said an inspection could take place within the next few days. I also emailed them all of the photos I had documented.
While walking through the garages again yesterday, I noticed additional fire-safety concerns. Some extinguisher cabinets were empty, and every extinguisher I checked had a July 2025 maintenance tag, meaning the annual service had expired in July 2026.
I also found two stairwell exit doors with panic bars that were sticking and would not open properly without significant force or repeated attempts. Because of that, I also contacted the Orange County Fire Marshal and reported the situation.
At this point, the issues have been documented and reported. Now we’ll see how the situation develops

Absolute waste of both the dining dollars you needed to spend for the swipe and the $7 for the container in the first place. Just use a normal swipe lol

Also as of today there is no option to make a tuition payment plan, I’m not sure when that’s going to be available l.
I’d appreciate your help. Thanks

Help I lost something! Missing Wallet

I just realized I lost it today, and will be going back to campus right about now. Its a brown leather tri-fold wallet with drivers-license, credit car, UCF ID, some cash. I believe I either lost it in CB2 (either in rooms 206 or 106), Breezeway, or Library 2nd Floor. If anyone has found, can they PM me with the name listed on the Driver's License/UCF ID. Please let me know, and thank you!

Edit: FOUND
