I hate anyone who is not poor

You're all just so spoiled. You talk to everyone around you about things that are just completely out of touch with reality. Why are talking about fast food like it's such a normal thing? Spoiled ass bitch. That's rich people food. If you're making over like $30K a year in America, just don't talk to me.

AITA AITA For Hating my 2 Year old Sister

Upvotes

Im 13, and my little sister is 2. I know, this age gap is wack.
Some of this isnt really my little sister’s fault, but I can’t help but feel angry in her presence. My mom doesn’t do anything to teach her any basic life skills. She can’t walk, she can’t talk either. She just crawls around babbling and whining. Whenever she touches me I can’t help but cringe at her disgusting and grubby hands. I know she didn’t do anything wrong. I just hate her. My mom has made comments before about how I need to spend more time with her but I’ve already tried. It doesn’t help anything and I still find myself wanting to get away from her.

I have older siblings that have larger age gaps than me and my little sister, and they don’t seem to hate me the way I hate my little sister. I feel like some evil person.

I just want to know if I’m in the wrong or something. Or maybe why I might feel like this. I don’t know if this is normal.

Long term Interracial marriage. My mother never approved my husband, I feel that I never have a closure.

Together 16 years, married 14 years.

My husband born and raised in California, his parents were Political Asylum straight from West Africa.

At age 18 after High school he got full scholarships and got accepted to USC that University that famous for their Trojan football team. USC only has a 10% acceptance rate, it is high ranked Private University. He got his 4 years University degree there (he finished in 3 years).

Af age 21, after USC, he got accepted to Stanford, and Stanford is a very high ranked prestigious Private University that only has 3% acceptance rate. He finished his Master at Stanford in 2 years, by the age 23 he already got a Master at Stanford.

2 degrees, one at USC, one at Stanford (a Master degree). And 7 awards during his Universities time, 7 awards (academic, leadership, and research). That is impressive.

At the age 23 he already an established Chemical Engineer working at the Oilfield. And work with corrosive Hydrofluoric Acid.
At the age 40 he is an Executive at a big engineering corporate, his salary plus bonuses he makes close to 1 million salary a year.;

My point is this is a VERY educated man, very EDUCATED. I meet him when he was 25, and he already a Chemical Engineer.

But my Chinese parents, especially mother NEVER accepted him, because he 100% pure West African), my mother called him a burnt light pole due to his pitch black skin color, pitch black skin like burnt charcoal, she called him.

That amount of education was nothing to my mother eyes, because all my mother can see was the money from my Shanghai business man father. My mother flat out said that he will NEVER make more money than my Shanghai businessman father.

But it was never about money. I love him because of his Strength of character, of him as a person. I also admire how educated he is, I also like him very well spoken, and most importantly he treats me really really well.

But my mother never accepted him. To day of my mother death she still not accepted him. Both my parents has deceased, and it seem like I never get a closure from them, especially from my mother. In her eyes he just a burnt light pole, burn charcoal, because of his pitch black skin color.

I just do not understand, other than my mother was very uneducated (only finished 9 grade), when she turn 18 she was in an arranged marriage to my father (whom a businessman and much older than he). Mom in China was what her parents see her as wife material, so married her off to a much older man. That all mom know was just money.

I just never understand how can she just write my husband off solely based on his skin color. Up till the day mom died, she still refused to accept him. Mom has deceased, and I feel that I will never have a closure from her.

I'm with my husband together 16 years, married 14 years, he always treats me really really really well. I just never understand my mother.

tl;dr My husband is VERY educated, VERY educated. And he treats me really really really well but my mother when alive just cannot see beyond his skin color. Till the day she died, she still never accepted him. I feel that I never have a closure from her. I guess deep down inside I still want my mother to accept my husband as a son in-law.

Friends The people who treat you like shit are the only ones who stay in your life

I don't know why this is but it's been my experience. Anyone who's actually treated me like a goddamn human being never stayed in my life for long. Usually it wasn't due to a falling out but rather life pulling us in different directions.

As for abusive pieces of shit? Those people never go away. For instance, my biological mother has made it very clear that she resents me, that she never wanted kids, and that having me ruined her body, her career, and her life. She held me against that my entire life, as if I chose to be here just to make her life difficult. During my childhood she would rant and rave for hours about how she couldn't wait until I was old enough to get the fuck out of her house. Sometimes she'd throw together it overnight bag, get in the car and drive off somewhere. Any attempts I made to contact her were unsuccessful. She'd be gone for hours and come back at the end of the day, or perhaps the next day but I had no idea she was coming back at all.

It was painfully clear to me that I wasn't wanted there so I moved out the first chance I got. Instead of just letting me fucking be, she followed me. To three different fucking states. Insisted on practically living in my backyard each time, always getting a place that was basically within walking distance of where I was. I've chosen a place she really doesn't want to go but I'm expecting her to make her way down here once she figures out where I am because she's nosy as fuck and knows how to find out these things about people.

There's also the guy who almost forced himself on me back when I was in high school. My mom kept trying to get us to be friends (he was in our carpool group) and I wanted nothing to do with him. I was neutral towards him at first, but then one time she left us alone together while she went to get food and he asked me to have sex with him. I said no, because I was already with someone and I didn't like him like that. He wouldn't take no for an answer. He kept pushing and pushing. I really didn't like the way he was staring at me and he had me basically backed into a corner at one point. I could have fought back but I felt like considering this guy was well over 6 ft tall and weighed nearly 300 lb, meanwhile I was 5 ft 4 and barely 90 lb at the time that it wouldn't make much of a difference anyway.

The only reason he backed up is because around that time my mom came back with the pizza. I told her about it, said I wasn't comfortable being around him, and she just swept it under the rug like it was nothing.

I grew up with him. He was at my church and at my school so I had to see him practically every day. Then I moved out and I got as far away as possible from that hell hole. I got a new phone number and everything. Then I found out she gave my phone number to this guy. I changed my number a few times and she's done the same exact thing with each one. I've told hirm I don't want to talk to him, but he doesn't listen. Then he goes and finds to his mother who is besties with my mother and makes me look like a bad guy so then both his mom and my mom get on my case about it. Also, his mom has threatened to beat the shit out of me for similar stuff and I wouldn't put it past her to do so.

These are the only people who have stayed in my life. Anyone else was just passing through. I'd give my right arm for somebody who actually treats me like a person to stay in my life for longer than a few months. it seems like all the nice people who have never raised a hand to me are travelers who don't ever want to settle down or live in one place because they tend to get bored of being in the same environment longer than a few months. They say they'll keep in touch, and some do, but I almost never see them in person after that.

I can't relate to that mindset at all. I've been on the run from my mother my entire adult life and I'm sick and tired of moving around. However, I feel like if I ever found a safe place to live where these people couldn't find me but even if I settled into the community, made friends or even found a partner that everyone would just leave after a while and it would just be me.

Young Adult The fear of not having a bf

So I have the fear of being alone and never finding the love of my life, I'm f21 from Toronto and I'm looking for someone my age but sadly I can't find any guy that would be of my interest, I feel alone at home and I'm about to register for adult school because I want to study but also want to find friends because of loneliness, Ive gotten complements from one guy before and he called me beautiful but I never understood why he didn't ask me for my number? Like I really wish I had a chance in that, and I'm just tired of being single, I already practice self love and I absolutely love myself first and I've also been patient some days but also not, I don't know if I'll ever find a boyfriend or not because I hate being alone

Story time - yup actual story no cryptic shit

5 years ago in 2021 on a random day I wasn't able to sleep ( nothing new but anyways ) , listend some songs and gradually felt sleepy . I must've slept for 2 hours at max & woke up - why ? On that particular day the moon was shining so bright it's light came running across the window on my face

What a piece of beauty that view was - moon shining in all its glory and just precisely close enough so that Its rays would fall legit on my face . Decided to not sleep the whole time & only gaze at the moon

It's weird back then I would easily see enough stars but now as time goes by I rarely find any :( is it just me ? What a day to remember , there are few incidents that I remember with absolute details - one of these is a nightmare but bro what a thrilling dream it was it's been months but I'll wait my entire life just to see the part 2 of that dream . Alright so that's it for today :)

Who would've thought jhappi would be a cat's name too ? Haha

I wish I had a bedroom

My two sisters have their own bedrooms, but I have to share a bedroom with my brother (who has his own bed), and my mom. Im 17 years old and still have to sleep in the same bed with my mom. My dad sleeps on my half of the bed during the day, but he only showers once a month and genuinely smokes at least 3 packs a day, so the bed often smells as such. It's hardly even a "shared bedroom" because none of my stuff is in there and i cant spend time there, because my dad sleeps there during the day. Instead I have to spend my day in the living room with my profoundly autistic brother who is constantly yelling, jumping everywhere or farting. And for some reason, my sisters who have their own rooms, would rather spend their time in the living room. Whats the point of having your own room then??? Why couldn't i have the room instead? Im tired of constantly being surrounded by people. This apartment is so small and my parents decided to have 4 fucking kids while neither of them have a job. There was no consideration for what my life would be like when they had me. Most people my age have their own room at home, and their parents pay for them to live at a dorm. But my parents decided that I should keep living in this home with no personal space and spend 2 hours per day commuting instead. If it were up to me i'd get a job and leave but my mom forced me to go to university, i didn't even get a choice in what i wanted to study. And i have ADHD and already struggle a lot with school, so I can't get good grades and have a job at the same time. But i want nothing more than to leave this home. Im so jealous of people who have a room and/or a dorm and keep crying over it. Theres no one who relates to me, all of my friends parents are well off and they have everything that I wish i had. Sorry if i sound childish.

Medical My father hid that he is a carrier for a pretty serious genetic disorder

This specific genetic condition is one that you do not want to even be a carrier for. Carriers also have pretty significant health issues, including increased risk for diabetes regardless of lifestyle and diet, various internal organs failing or having issues. I have had lifelong issues with these organs, including various appointments which involved invasive biopsies. I recently did genetic testing and found out I was a carrier. My father then said oh yeah, he's a carrier too. So that wasn't important to say before? You know, when I displayed all the nasty symptoms of being a carrier? This is not to mention the fact that had I not done this testing, I could have unknowingly given my children either the carrier or full thing of this condition. But no, I have to sit through multiple appointments now with all of my doctors outlining what my genetic counseling team told me.

Why can’t people be nice to each other?

I don’t understand how being mean to people is normalized as a joke. I have coworkers and managers that bully me for my height, mock me constantly, say “we’re best friends”, etc. and say it’s a joke. How is that funny? I had friends in college who would joke that I couldn’t dance or sing, that I looked like a kid. I would always be too loud around them or not understand certain social cues. But they were just joking and I was supposed to accept that. I don’t understand why the world is so mean. Like I don’t understand how belittling someone is funny. I had a friend who was made fun of for eating green peas and everyone was laughing at her and one friend was going around to other tables, asking if they ate green peas, and I said this behavior was wrong, and I was seen as the problem. Why are other people even involved in the first place? What’s so bad about eating green peas and why must you yell and ask everyone in the cafeteria if they like to eat green peas? I don’t get how it’s funny.

I just need ONE good nights sleep goddamn it

The past few weeks have been stressful as fuck and anxiety has been hitting me across the head every day and night constantly. I've been getting maybe 4-5 hours of sleep a night. Luckily I'm in a position rn where I can pretty much sleep at any time of the day if needed so I can nap but goddamn. I'm still starting to go fucking insane here.

I wanna just sleep well ONE night, fuck. I still can't even tho the issues I was having are (mostly) resolved at this point.

Relationship/Love my bf is so mean to me

i love and care for him so much, i admire him so much as a person but he can just be so mean to me

for example all day at work today (we work together at a restaurant that his parents own) he seemed so cold and distant, he barely talked to me all day & when he did he was just yelling at me to do something

as soon as we got back to his house from work & showered & got intimate he became happy again. i wasnt even really ready for intimacy at the time because i was tired from work, as soon as he started touching my private area i said no but he kept going, then when i started crying he just left the room until he could come back and try again

as soon as we were done being intimate he took me home & didnt hug me or tell me he loved me before he left, he usually does both

he does these kinds of things often, he can be super sweet at times but then other times he can be so cruel, sometimes i feel like hes only happy when i let him hit

I hate having an anxiety disorder

I don’t understand why this is a thing! I hate feeling so randomly stressed, I hate the feeling in my chest it gives me, and I hate feeling like I’m going to die over some random thing my brain decided was big deal for some reason! Why?! I wish I could shut off my brain sometimes, or just not care! I can’t stand anything about this! I just wanna feel okay.

Adult A lil sad but will get over it

It was my birthday yesterday. And I shouldnt have been surprised. But everyone forgot this year. Usually at least one person remembers or my grandmother. But with grandma losing her memory lately i dont blame her for forgetting. But this year not a single person remembered. My parents usually forget. Im one of four kids and the others always needed more attention. So theirs were always on the calendar. But somehow i always got forgotten. That part i have accepted. But without grandma this year it felt so empty and gave me this glimpse into a future without her that terrified me.

Im always the person who remembers everyone’s birthdays. I have each of my friends set in my calendar with a reminder the day before. I always text, or get a gift or a card. Just let them know i see them.

My roommate has memory issues and said something the day before so i dont blame them. They truly tried. After losing my one grandma a few years back i already noticed the absence she always filled for holidays. Both grandmas did their best to remind me i mattered. But now im facing a future where i have to remind myself.

Thanks for listening if anyone did. I just needed it out so i can continue my life.

ETA: Thank you everyone for the birthday wishes and even just reading the post. I did order myself a dessert as a treat on the advice of some of you. I felt silly making the post in the first place but now im glad because i feel much less alone. So thank you again everyone and dont let anyone ever dull your sparkle!

LGBTQ+ Am I in the bad for feeling sad about this?

This was two months ago but I haven't been able to get it out of my head since then. A year ago I met a guy online, and three months ago we started sexting (I'm a man too),the thing is that he started flirting with me just the day I turned 18. (He's 26) The days passed and we kept sexting, I sent him photos of me and he simply excused himself by saying things like "maybe one day you'll win a pic" or "I don't feel like it". Eventually I confronted him and told him that I wasn't going to sext with him anymore because I felt uncomfortable being the only one who sent photos and I didn't even know what he looked like. He told me that it was fine, that he would miss my pics and then he never texted again or apologized to me. Was he in the wrong? Am I being dramatic?
