Medical My father hid that he is a carrier for a pretty serious genetic disorder
This specific genetic condition is one that you do not want to even be a carrier for. Carriers also have pretty significant health issues, including increased risk for diabetes regardless of lifestyle and diet, various internal organs failing or having issues. I have had lifelong issues with these organs, including various appointments which involved invasive biopsies. I recently did genetic testing and found out I was a carrier. My father then said oh yeah, he's a carrier too. So that wasn't important to say before? You know, when I displayed all the nasty symptoms of being a carrier? This is not to mention the fact that had I not done this testing, I could have unknowingly given my children either the carrier or full thing of this condition. But no, I have to sit through multiple appointments now with all of my doctors outlining what my genetic counseling team told me.
