I played both for the first time about a year ago. Both were great games, but for me personally, Chrono Trigger wowed me more. I thought it was absolutely amazing, where I thought that FFVI was greatā¦.I played CT first, so maybe you should try FFVI first and see if you have the same results? Both are 100% must-play games, and you canāt go wrong with either.
Good Hardware doesn't really mean anything if the software is bad. Bethesda games are notorious for being buggy messes. I would recommend looking up a community patch for the game to see if that helps.
If the game crashes have any consistency, try googling your issue and find some forums, your problem might be a common one with a solution. Being a PC gamer can mean being a problem solver sometimes, but it is also usually the best way to experience games when they are running correctly.
Ironically, good hardware can crash older games by being TOO good.
IIRC, certain older games relied on processing timers to queue events, and modern equipment flies way beyond what they expected, so it floods too many events at once and it breaks all the triggers.
You need to install the 4GB Patch for FNV at the very least.
FNV was released to work on 32-bit systems and could only access 2 GB of RAM. I'm also certain you have a modern 64-bit system.
There are loads of other stability and bug fix mods that can be installed as well.
You'll probably want the New Vegas Anti-Crash mod as well as the Stutter Remover mod and maybe New Vegas Script Extender if you are going to add more mods.
You can check out r/fnv for other essential mod recommendations.
There are essential mods that are needed to play fallout New Vegas on PC to limit bugs and crashing (fallout 3 is even harder to run, but both are doable.) Their are plenty of mods I'd recommend looking through like higher resolution vanilla textures for example
Meh Iām a Warcraft2 child. I consider going Warcraft as old school.
Back in the day when the mission was like command and conquer to be as simple enough to be ādestroy the enemy baseā but large enough to average 35-55 minutes depending on how many shortcuts through the map you know to find all the enemies.
And the stories were still well done just for the narrative between the levels.
Mirror's Edge came out 18 years ago in 2008. 18 years before that in 1990 Super Mario World came out. SMW was as old to Mirror's Edge as Mirror's Edge is to us now.
Yeah, thatās a pretty special game. When I first played it I was kinda blow away, that no one had tried to make that sort of game which is effectively just a platformer. I havenāt went back in a while because older RPGs are more my thing, but 10/10 would recommend to anyone.
I kinda wish there was a VR remake, but that might be impractical.
Incredible combat systems for a game built on the Quake 3 engine. Also that time was the pinnacle of game modding imo. I even built some multiplayer maps for Jedi Outcast, it was so much fun. I still remember the name of the map maker, GTK Radiant.
I mean, it means a foreigner or a slave, almost both of them when you start Morrowind being true ( you are ALWAYS a slave, and ALMOST always a foreigner, unless you pick Dunmer as your starting race ), it it really isn't that bad a slur.
Absolutely. I like Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim differently and play them differently.
I have exploited Morrowind so much Iām kinda tired of it, so I mostly play the game as the developers intended, just because it takes like an hour to become OP asf in that game after you get out of character creation.
I like the weapon misses, and the failed potions. I like that you can kill critical characters. I like the weird armor selections.
Oblivion, is the one that still has me in my exploiting phase.
Skyrim, is the one that usually gets modded to death. I have tended to go back to more vanilla play-throughs with all of them though..
It still amazes me how far ahead from Oblivion or Skyrim this game is. The world design is so well put. You can travel anywhere by paying attention to road signs. Whereas in Oblivion/Skyrim, you'd better pay attention to your compass and map.
Morrowind was so awesome... I wish I could experience it again for the first time.
Still a great game! I've put hundreds of hours into it. But 3 captures the "you vs an alien wasteland" feeling in 3 and the weapon crafting and graphics in 4 put both of them above NV for my taste
Probably people that donāt browse the subreddit much and just want to have a basic conversation. Like if you go to a game store every once in a while and have a conversation, it will probably be about something like, whatās your favorite game, or what old games do you still play. The person working at the store probably heard variations of the conversation all day, but for the customers that only come in occasionally, itās something they enjoy discussing.
Not everyone chronically scrolls a single sub and these questions are a good way to potentially have a conversation.
No hate to the original reply but I get so tired of people whining about not seeing their specifically desired type of post. These people need to be the change they want to see.
I bought my PC to do one thing, and one thing only: play Slippi online for Super Smash Bros Melee. Whatās all it exists for. Nothing else. Maybe Iāll put the first three rollercoaster tycoon games on there some day.Ā
Been playing halflife 2 recently. Was really enjoying it until it decided to randomly stop recognizing certain buttons on my controller. No idea what's going on with that
