I was cleaning of my pen's room when I found this Sony walkman I wanted to use it as I am a new collector I am not really this hard and if I do not know how to turn it on as I will probably just by an external player.
Even then our want to have a portable player of my CD so it would be nice to have it I have put in fresh batteries and turn off the whole button as I seen in a previous credit Post with only one answer how do I turn it on as I cannot figure out how to do it please help 🙏.
Ps: I no that there is a reading part of the walkman but the opening looks bit fired can you please tell me if it is because of this that the walkman is not turning on.
anyone know how to fix this walkman? it’s the D-EJ001. does this weird clicking noise. see video in comments for what it sounds like
should i just buy a new disc reader? feel like that would work after i solder/wire it in maybe
I have an NW-S755 coming in and I was wondering about the FM radio functionality. Will that work in the US or will it not work due to the difference in frequency standard between the US and Japan?

i've seen lots of people with this model and they all look very different, and i'd like to customize it to my liking. how do i do that? i assume i'd have to install new firmware which isn't a problem but where can i find something like that and how do i make it pretty?

Body:
Hey everyone, just wanted to share a successful fix for a common mechanical failure on late-90s Sony Sports Walkmans, specifically the WM-FS495 (though this applies to similar auto-reverse mechanisms of this era).
The Symptom:
I had installed a brand new belt and found it would rewind ok but very noisy. FF was fine, but pressing Play resulted in zero movement from the spindles in either direction with a tape. (even though the motor was spinning smoothly). The left spindle was stuck
The Problem:
Upon opening the unit, it turned out that the molded black plastic return spring pivot pin near the left reel had completely snapped off the chassis. Without the pin holding it in place, the high-tension return spring had shifted and was physically pushing directly against the left reel, acting like a brake pad and locking it down during playback.
The Permanent Fix:
Don't bother trying to superglue the original plastic pin back on—the spring tension will just snap it off again. Instead:
The metal thread creates a permanent, rock-solid anchor that can easily handle the spring's tension. The hard part is holding the spring in place while threading in the screw so the spring sits fully in the new screw pivot, and the player now works perfectly!
Hope this helps someone else pulling their hair out trying to figure out why their newly-belted WM-FS495 won't spin in Play mode!

Found a tool that can sync older Sony Walkman players on a MacBook. Much easier than dealing with old Windows-only workflows.

The author says it currently supports:
NW-A1000, NW-A1200, NW-A3000, NW-A60x, NW-E00x, NW-S20x, NW-E01x, NW-S60x/S70x, NW-S71x, NW-A80x, NW-A91x.
Support is coming soon for: NW-HD3, NW-HD5, NW-E10x/E2xx/E3xx/E4xx/E5xx.

After around 6 months of hunting for it in total i managed to get NW-S202F, like certain JRPG protagonist has. Managed to buy it for around 130$ (originally 350$, because of need for money, person sold for 130$) , it was in perfect condition, only issue was battery. I managed to replace it 2 days ago. Before this one i also managed to buy silver NW-E507 for around 250$. And if we compare NW-S202F feels far smoother. Does it worth its price? Probably not. Is it satisfying? Hell yeah.

I don't own one yet, but I've highly considered buying an NW-A306 in my country. I was curious about a few things:
1: Can it be used as a phone of sorts?
2: How well is the audio reproduced?
3: Is the memory good enough?
4: Is it too laggy?
5: Can it overheat?
Overall, that's all I'm curious about the NW-A306, but more information about it would be useful!

Such a beautiful piece of tech, one of my favorites in the line of cassette case sized players! Has original belt clip attachment that doubles as a lock for the door :) current rotation at uni today!

Inspired by the one on Snowsky Echo Nano. The community only allows me to send the gif of the file , so I wasn't able to send the video I recorded from the player in action.

How difficult is it for a novice to adjust azimuth on a WM F15? Advice on how to do this?
A friend is offering me a great deal on one of these. I've been after a vintage Walkman for a while and keep missing sales in my budget. I'm totally in love with the WM F15. He says the unit works great except for some muffling on playback and says it's because it needs an azimuth adjustment.
Curious if this is worth the hassle or if I should hold out for when a refurbished unit unicorns into my range.

Está bien puesta mi correa? Hoy día tuve que abrir mi Sony walkman FX 288 para reparar esa parte porque se había corrido

Hi! I'm looking for a Sony Walkman from around the 2008–2015 era. I really like the old-school 2000s/2010s design and physical buttons, but I also want Bluetooth so I can use my TWS earbuds.
My main requirements are:
- Bluetooth
- Physical buttons (no touchscreen)
- Around 8 GB or more
- Good battery life
- Small/color screen preferred
- Ideally something relatively affordable on the second-hand market
So far, I've found these models:
- NWZ-E464
- NWZ-S764/S764BT
- NWZ-S774/S774BT
- NWZ-S784
- NWZ-A15/A25
The E464 is probably my favorite aesthetically, especially in blue/green, but they're quite hard to find.
Which one would you recommend, and are there any other models/brands from that era that I should look for?
Thanks! 🙂

It hasn't been running too well lately, which is a bit odd, considering I went to the repair shop not too long ago to fix the pitch problem. It worked for a couple of days; however, it's running slowly again now. I did change the batteries and such, yet it's still not right.
I went to a couple of different repair shops before this, and it was the same problem every time. So what do you think the solution is?
