Real. The series is great, and I especially love the epigraphs. They're always great, and I especially love the Heroic Axiom ones. for example, the new one from the published version:

Fifty: If there has been a mysterious murder at court while an ambitious duke with a pointy and oiled beard was in attendance, that murder can no longer be considered mysterious.

I dropped it, sometime around the boot camp arc. I forget why, probably something to do with how cartoonishly evil the empire was, and didn't want to see a villainess mc. the world is already too shit with that.
