God yugioh anime has such a "dick sucking the MC" problem. Like it's a thing in pretty much all shonen but in yugioh it's just insane. That too discarding how much he fucking wins, he has like a 95% win rate, how can there be any drama when he wins literally everything
Feels like an unfortunate side-effect of it being a card game anime. It's either a tournament arc where defeat is elimination or a dark magic arc where defeat means Shadow Realm.
Half the arcs would be over if he had some character-growth losses along the way, purely because of the way the setting is handled.
GX handled it a bit better where there was lots of potential to lose in the school setting.
I'd love it if that was the case but I think shigekiyo would probably want to go to josuke rather than the authorities (immediate treatment and it was already his original objective anyway)
In the eyes of maybe a lot of the characters in the show, I would imagine as much. Hard in a world full of super-powered beings to be taken seriously when all you seem to have is a bicycle. But after that moment I think everyone had a lot more respect for him.
I was confused about the pt 5 thing too, isn’t a stand supposed to be the physical embodiment of the soul of its user? How would he still have a ghost after using the stand arrow to send his stand away? Are ghosts and souls different in JoJo or did I misunderstand the scene?
Also on the note of stands being the soul of its user, I like how Hol Horse had the soul of a limited range handgun, which got powercrept by rat rifle in the very next part, imagine getting soulmogged by a rat
It's funny - Flowery is an obvious parallel to Flowey, so we all expected him to be completely heartless and evil beneath that pretty-boy facade. And sure, he turned out to be an antagonist, but only because he loved Asgore so much. Everything Flowery did was his attempt to repay Asgore for taking care of him and the other flowers.
Flowery had to know he had no shot against the Knight, but he took them on anyway because leaving Asgore to his fate wasn't an option. He truly died a hero.
Ok but the great thing about is that when he does the whole “heh, think you can outspeed a flower?” Thing to the roaring knight he’s ragebaiting them to speed up to the point where they can’t avoid crashing into the wall, you can see he can just teleport to them anyways immediately after.
I like to imagine he was trying to make the knight accidentally give themselves brain damage from their impact, therefore nerfing them for us in a future fight

Say what you will about the man; but Jack Fenton will fist fight gods for his family (man was the first to volunteer to wear the armor that drains life force to fight an apocalypse level threat, while still suffering from testing out just the legs)
To be fair, most of his incompetence and comic relief was tied to being able to find and identify ghosts. Once he did confront them, he actually had a pretty good track record even when fighting above his weight class.
Definitely has a bad case of tunnel vision too. Locks in on the end goal and skips as many steps in the middle on accident. Like letting Danny out of the vacuum before asking for help because he was that concerned to stop Vlad.
This or he gets absolutely wrecked but buys just enough time for the big hitters to come in and is remembered as the most heroic one of the bunch (but somehow never being left scarred and traumatized for the remainder of his existence though it would be a very compelling story line).
Iirc mumen rider still had hospital bandages and stuff from an earlier buy for time when he was doing search and rescue in the final battle/episode of one punch man
Him ejecting Swindle(? That’s his Minicon, right? It’s been a bit) so he doesn’t get hurt was such a perfect bit of characterization. He’s one of the few cons who actually gives a damn about his Minicon partners, even the Air Defense team when they’re with him for a bit.
What's cool with Sokka though is that in this scene he knows he's outmatched and chooses to fight anyway out of a combination of feelings of duty and a desire to make a difference.
Real. The series is great, and I especially love the epigraphs. They're always great, and I especially love the Heroic Axiom ones. for example, the new one from the published version:

It's pretty funny in the og D&D movie when Marlon Wayans gets murked because it's such an over-the-top tonal shift.
Like, imagine if halfway through The Phantom Menace, Darth Maul just brutally beat the shit out of Jar Jar Binks while everyone else had to watch.
Like, "Hey, wasnt this character meant to entice 6 year olds to want to see your movie? 6 year olds dont wanna see that character literally get beaten to death. What are you doing?"
It sounds completely crazy but a bunch of dudes of the same species as Jar Jar Binks canonically beat the fuck out of General Grievous, harder, faster and more effectively than any Jedi in the entire Clone Wars
