I’ve had my cat for years. After many months of trying to find solutions, I am realizing that I have to give my cat away to protect my mental health.

I’ve become disabled by a chronic illness, live alone, and dealing with trauma. It’s gotten to the point that I feel dread and am gripped anxiety when my cat approaches me. It’s not her fault and she doesn’t deserve someone who flinches from her.

She has IBD and is on medication for it that she takes every day mixed into a small amount of tuna. She also eats prescription food. How do I go about finding the next home for her? Someone who doesn’t mind the special food & meds, and obviously loves cats and maybe lives with others (she likes human company).

I don’t just want to leave her at a rescue. I want to make sure she goes to the right person for her. How do I do this?

So i just came home to my little 13yo ginger senior looking like this. I saw him before i left this morning and his nose didnt look like that so it must have happened today. I have two other young cats which he does not get along with. One of them scratched his nose the other day and it was swollen so i thought it might be from the swelling goin away but thats unrealistic. its more likely that someone or something hit him on his nose because of the fur being gone and his nose is running the whole time and it just doesnt look like an animal. i just want to be 100% sure its not an infection. i put some balm on his nose so it heals off better and since i dont know who or what caused that im not gonna let him go outside for a couple days. i really hope that this wasnt caused by a human because im gonna go after them and make their life hell. i think something might have fallen into his nose because we had a storm here a couple weeks ago and there is lots of branches on our gardenshed that he always climbs up onto. if it gets worse ill go to the vet.

Elle a 4 mois et les 2 photos dans le cartons c’est quand on l’as adopté y a 3 semaines et les autres photos date de quelques jours nous avons un autre chat adopté en même temps même âge qui est vachement plus petit

Does anyone know what this could be? He starts meowing in pain whenever we get close and touch the area. I don’t know if he got into a fight but he came back smelly and covered in dirt and feces. We let him go outside and wander.

About 3 hours ago I was bitten by a stray/feral kitten. The first picture is immediately after the bite and the first picture is now. Should I be worried? 😭

My cat usually breathes like this and i have gone to the vet many times for general check up and they never mentioned that he can have breathing problems but i want to make sure. He has cholecists so idk if that has anything to do with it, he is being treated daily with pills, so it will go away in around a month, so far no bloody poops at least lol.

Anywho pls tell me if this is normal breathing or should I go to teh vet

Basically the title. I've seen online that a cat's tail can get fluffy depending on the breed or if they're stimulated. His tail is always like this but doesn't look like the typical "fluffy" cat tail. He's a 8 months old rescue.

Also yes we are walking him and yes he does love it.

She's about 2 years old now, had her since a kitten. No matter how many times I shue her down from things she just still does. I know some people are okay with that, but I'm not and would like to resolve it. If I can't then I will just have to learn to adapt... Love my Lemons.

Tl;dr: Adopted two cats about a month and a half ago. One has chronic diarrhea that the vet cannot diagnose why and it’s causing him to not use the litter box. I’ve been scrubbing the floors multiple times a day and I’m mentally exhausted from it.

So first some background on how I got the cats.. a girl posted an ad to rehome them since her dad was planning on moving and leaving them at the house. They’re about 12 years old and were indoor cats until about a year ago, when they were kicked out into the garage. I took them in under the condition that the old owner took them to the vet first to make sure that they were UTD and in healthy condition.

The girl didn’t mention that the boy (Larry) had been having diarrhea for about a week until she showed up with them in carriers for me to take. The first night they were here they decided that my bathroom was their bathroom, even tho I didn’t have a litter box in there. Once I put one in there, the girl (Lady) used it fine and Larry peed in it, but kept pooping on the floor. The way my bathroom is set up, where they are going is a super tiny room with just my toilet in it.

After about a week and half, Larry’s diarrhea wasn’t clearing up, despite the meds that the vet put him on when the old owners took him. So I took him to the vet and got him on some probiotics. After another week or so, I stared noticing blood in his poops. He went back to the vet where they basically said it’s just IBS. We did a fecal and full blood panel, put him on antibiotics plus a steroid to help, and GI medicated food. None of this has helped.

At first, I was fine cleaning it up, but in so exhausted at this point. It’s 2-3 times a day that I have to replace the puppy pads in there when I’m home. Overnight, or when I work all day, he tries to cover up the old piles and winds up throwing the pads everywhere and creating a huge mess. It’s started staining my baseboards, it absolutely reeks in there, and now he’s started backing up to the wall when he goes, so it’s spraying all the way up my wall.

He’s also noticeably put weight ON since being here, so I really can’t figure out what the diarrhea is about. He’s a sweet cat, but I mentally can’t take the cleanup any more. I don’t want him bouncing around or anything at his age… plus I promised the girls I got him from that I’d be his forever home. Lady and Larry were the girls childhood cats, so they were very emotional and clearly loved them a lot. He deserves a forever home, but I’m at a loss of what to do. I can’t keep living with my bathroom being this disgusting. I’m scared to have anyone over and I gag everytime I go in there. Not to mention the cost… I’m going thru 10-15 puppy pads a day. I’m at a loss on what to do..

Any words of advice would be really appreciated.

I have read so many conflicting remedies online on what’s acceptable and what is not acceptable in terms of spray for bug/spiders. What is absolutely off-limits and what can I use safely to get rid of the spiders in my apartment while not harming my cat 🥴😩

My 16F girl generally has good litter box habits except her stools often go in the corners where I have to scrape them out. Now her urine aim is getting outside the box! Luckily I have a paper apron there I can throw away, but why can't she stay in the box? I have been cleaning once a day, but I think I have to do it more often, because she does. Other than that...who knows?

My cat Willy got a wound somehow yesterday afternoon. I was unable to find the source/cause, but he’s never had zits, ingrowns etc to my knowledge and certainly no random wounds.

Like how do you even hurt under your chin?

It’s scabbed over, but bled a little as I saw a little drop of blood in his normal sleeping cubby. Looked very fresh, but no signs of blood etc elsewhere around the house or toys/counters etc. I searched everywhere after I noticed. Dosent look infected to me but am not a vet…he’s not picking at it etc.

Should I take him to the vet? Am just an anxious cat parent appreciate any help 😅

Reason I'm asking: she scarfs her food down and immediately cries for more and I'm scared I'm underfeeding or overfeeding her. I've never owned a cat, she belongs to my bf and we live together so I've taken over feeding and other aspects of care (I even learned a couple months ago that cats need 3-4 inches DEEP kitty litter, so that's been fun)

I have tried everything. My DSH tabby sheds all of the time. I groom, brush her fur and even use a clipper to shave off some of her fur. I’ve tried adding products to her food with omega oil and supplements which are supposed to help with shedding. She has no underlying health conditions. I have a lot of health issues and I know pets pick up on things like that and they get stressed. Which could be a contributing factor. But I honestly do not know what to do anymore. The vet isn’t any help either. Any suggestions?
