Anyone else running inline ports on your DWX?

Let’s talk about it. This is the ported version originally released by Kovert. I have always found the looks to be polarizing, especially the billboard style Dark Forge on the side. The build quality is excellent and the trigger is a crisp 2lbs with snappy reset. This gun shoots incredibly well. There does seem to be a lot of them for sale at the moment. I think DF pumps these out. Much easier to get one of these than say a Cardinal G2P.

Had this trigger for a while. Went back and forth about installing it. I think it looks pretty cool with a little color.

This was a grail gun for me and is my first “higher end pistol” (notice I didn’t say “higher end 2011”), coming from a MAC9 I polished and tuned myself. I’m concerned for the trend this handgun may have started for my collection lol. Honestly I’m blown away. I think Staccato did an amazing job of striking a really nice balance by giving you everything that matters, and nothing that doesn’t at a reasonable price point while keeping in mind performace.

A few things that I really appreciate about the P, and why I believe it is still where everyone who has decided to take 2011’s seriously should start:
- Reliability
- Reasonable cost to performance proposition
- No BS materials & finishes
- Lifetime (now fully transferrable) warranty
- You know exactly what you’re getting, and if you don’t get that they will correct it without having to feel like you’re pulling teeth.

I think a lot of the magic of the P can be summarized into one of those categories. Another important thing to note is the slightly longer recoil-length than standard 4.25” 2011’s.

I’m gonna rub some people the wrong way when I say this but I think a lot of the 4.6” being the best barrel length hype is really just a copy and paste of the P’s format with a slightly longer barrel poking out of the slide to make it seem “different”. If you chop down the barrel on a 4.6” 2011 to be flush with the slide, do you know what you end up with? Yeaaahh…..

Ran 600 rounds tonight, had 4 failures to feed total in the first 5 mags. After that it was golden. Winchester white box 115gr. It has done this every time ive taken it out. Seems a little less often now. But I dont think its a break in type thing.

I did a series 80 to 70 conversion on my P211. When I was finished and it was working great I found this little pin? Could be from an unrelated firearm, but I don't think so. Anybody know what it is?

Went to a store i hadn't been to in a few years, they always had a decent selection, but nothing crazy. Today, holy cow had they stepped up their inventory. 5 or 6 different Staccatos, 3 different laugo aliens, multiple Atlas, and even a Darkforge Reaper. I was amazed to see all these beauties on one place.

I was wooed by the new guys. Newer designs, different colors, more holes. It wasn’t until I got this gun and shot it next to my others that I understood what everyone was talking about with Atlas.

In the high end market, this gun is the baseline gun. It proves you don’t NEED ports and comps and it shows what a quality manufacturer can do.

For me the highlight is the Alpha grip. It is perfect, which greatly improves how you shoot the gun. Second to the grip is the trigger. The break and reset are perfect. I only wish they had some texture on the face.

If you look hard enough and are patient, you can score one of these for sub-$5k. That is a lot of money, but not far off of a new Race City RC9. Atlas also stands by their guns.

Buddy’s Core on the first slide, he has a rose gold accented Mod2 on the way so this was his “production sample” baseplate. He also only had 126mm mags so I gave him one of my 140mm Atlas’.

My MPA DS9 Ported Barrel w/ Steel grip and Tungsten Guide Rod.

Teammate had his Glock 47 w/ Radian Ramjet & Afterburner Comp Barrel.

Left side had larger but fewer steels.

Right side had significantly smaller steel and had more steels to shoot.

I cannot begin to tell you how special this piece is. A light weight full titanium build that shoots as good as it looks. Truly a work of art

Does anyone run a 9lb spring in there hybrid? If so what bullet weight

Been wanting to break into 2011s for a while, finally pulled the trigger on the model that spoke to me the most.

Deciding on whether I want to keep this a range toy or throw it in the EDC rotation - that will ultimately decide the light/dot combo.

Admittedly, im new to 2011s. Im a huge 1911 fan, but want more capacity for 2 gun matches. Seeing LFA's getting a lot of hate. I have zero experience except for handling one or two and they felt really nice. I know they filed for bankruptcy, so customer service isn't available. Is it just a matter of performance, crappy parts, customer service?

I do my own work/fitting on 1911 parts so if its matter or replacing parts, I dont really care. Is there an actual ISSUE with these though?

I have landed on choosing a kimber 2k11 for my first 2011. There are so many different models I am struggling on that part. This will strictly be a range gun not a carry. With that in mind I am thinking the full size rather than the pro’s. I am unsure on comp or not.
