COMMUNITY UPDATE New rule has been added: stolen memes, or screenshots with text that was not added *by you*, are strictly prohibited.

Memes must be your own work. Screenshots accompanied by text within the image, that was not added by you, are not allowed in any capacity.

I know this rule cracking down on the white-background images was certainly long overdue. I tried to let it slide in the beginning since the posts were still gaining a fair amount of traction, but it's gotten to the point where it's beginning to compromise the quality of the subreddit.

Scrooge McDuck is one of the most powerful cartoon characters ever created

Post image

Scrooge McDuck. We all know him from Ducktales and the various sordid online forums we pursue but don't tell anyone else about (especially our spouses). When we think of him, we think of money, adventure, and the (visible) balls it takes to wear a peacoat top hat combo without pants as your lead fashion choice.

But did you know that Scrooge McDuck is one of, if not the most powerful characters Disney ever created?

I'm not talking about his wealth. Clearly he can buy the world. He certainly owns industries and politicians and probably has a duck harem. He also probably already has an island that he takes his (?) nephews to for various reasons.

I'm talking about his strength. For the Ducktales introduction we are all familiar with him diving into a pool of gold coins and swimming through it. What a fun wacky show of how much money he has and how he loves it!

Wrong. That scene is fucking is crazy. Scrooge McDuck dives into a pool of gold fucking coins. These are not stereo foam peanuts for god's sake. These would stack together and be SOLID. Imagine stacking up a pile of rocks and diving head first into them. What do you think would happen?

Yeah, you'd snap your neck in two.

Yet, not only does Scrooge easily dive into the coins, he swims through them effortlessly.

What kind of god is he?

And don't tell me this is just cartoon physics. In the 2017 version of Ducktales he specifically tells one of his nephews NOT to dive in because he would hurt his head and that Scrooge has his own special method. It is clear others CANNOT survive the dive like Scrooge can.

What is he?

It is canon that Scrooge's wealth comes from the gold rush era. That's the fucking 1800s. How old is Scrooge? What is the secret to his immortality? What is the source of his power?

It is clear Scrooge McDuck is some kind of god (or demon) with a bevy of physical and mental powers beyond our comprehension. What does he want? How do we stop him?

I shudder thinking about it.

Fan Art Nigel Thornberry: Live at Dollywood with special guest, Eeyore.

Finished this, pretty recently.

A tribute for Tim Curry, Dolly Parton and Peter Cullen, all in one.

Nigel Thornberry with Eeyore in front of Dollywood, let's see!.

My memories with Eeyore was when The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh aired on ABC's Saturday mornings at noon all over the 90s and early 2000s and later found out that Peter Cullen was Eeyore.

I've haven't seen much of The Wild Thornberrys during its airing since I didn't have cable, but when I got to watch, it was really something , especially with Nigel's iconic status.

And Dollywood, I assumed it included a Petting Zoo, but no avail, but it would be a nice with all 3 on play.

Kids' WB Earth Worm Jim Is Such A Classic Design

The fact that it was a game that released a comic & show in 1995 is awesome. He's the perfect character for a game/show & is just extremely fun.

His suit has a classic super hero vibe with lots of clean white contrasting with the navy blue & yellow trim, I also love the way it can take damage & has a robotic interior. His ray type gun's red & yellow color also contrast super well

& of course the detachable worm head with a cartoonist face, he's one of the few characters I'd maybe call perfect.

Question Help finding an episode of Dexters Laboratory

Hello!

I want to find a scene from Dexter’s lab that I remember watching as a kid. Posting here as the dexters lab sub isn’t active

This is what I remember (the details could be wrong slightly wrong):

Dexter gets freedom from DeeDee and is left alone to work in his lab. He is initially very happy to be working alone but as time goes on he gets sad and realises that the freedom isn’t what he wanted.

It’s a really fast montage of him working. The same shots are repeating, but the only difference is the expression on his face slowly changes from happy to sad.

Thank you!

This release presents "Toonsylvania". A very rare show that many people have been looking for.

For this project, I used a variety of different sources to create the best possible versions of these lost episodes of Toonsylvania.

I am still currently working on the series and will be uploading more episodes as they are completed.

I currently have a total of 13 episodes to work with, but I am still missing English audio for Season 1, Episodes 12 and 13, as well as Season 2, Episodes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 8.

If anyone has copies of these episodes with English audio, please let me know. I would love to combine them with the other sources I already have so I can restore the remaining episodes and hopefully make the series as complete as possible in English.

Watch Here: https://archive.org/details/toonsylvania-s-01-e-01

The restoration involved extensive manual work, including:

  • Video cleanup and enhancement
  • Manual frame repairs and corrections
  • Color, brightness, and contrast correction in DaVinci Resolve
  • Replacing damaged frames with better frames from alternate sources when necessary
  • AI-assisted upscaling with Topaz Video AI
  • Audio restoration and synchronization using Audacity and iZotope RX 11
  • Final editing and mastering in Final Cut Pro

Preservation note:

No changes were made to the story, performances, or original content. My goal was simply to preserve the original presentation of the series while improving the video and audio quality as much as possible.

Source: Variety of sources including - Spanish web rip,  different VHS tapes from other sources

Final presentation: 1080p HD restoration

Is Reptar Responsible for 9/11?

Post image
0 Upvotes

Reptar, reptar, gotta find that Reptar. He's an iconic wholly original hero in the Rugrat's universe. The world had never seen anything like him until that point in history. And let's not forget: he was cool as fuck. I would have disemboweled another child for a taste of Reptar Cereal or a Reptar Bar. Whether it was in a city, on ice, or in space; Reptar showed up and kicked ass.

But, you all know my posts by now. I have to ask the hard questions. And among the hardest which has been circulating since the early 2000s is: Did Reptar cause 9/11?

I'm sure most of us know that I'm referring to the incidents of the Season 2 episode: Toy Palace. In it, Chaz and Stu abdicate their responsibilities as parents and civil human beings by abandoning their children in a toy store, confusing them with stuffed animals or some bullshit. There's also an inept security guard who eats donuts and pretends that he matters, though the viewer can clearly see he's years deep in an existential crisis.

Anyway, Tommy and Chuckie have a fucking ball. They turn the toy palace into their kingdom, having fun, laughing, shitting, you know, baby stuff.

Things take a turn, however, when the babies accidentally wake up one of the most dangerous and formidable villains of this (and perhaps any) franchise: Thorg. Thorg is a vicious gorilla robot who fiercely shouts the blooding chilling line: "Thorg hungry, Thorg want eat!" He proclaims his intense hunger (and perhaps thirst for blood) while pursuing the shit-head babies through the store.

Who can save Tommy and Chuckie from the results of their own actions? Reptar of course. They activate a Reptar robot who boldly declares, "halt, I am Reptar!" before opening a can of whoop ass on Thorg. He forces Thorg into a functional time machine (which is for some reason a children's toy and sends Thorg into the past.

Also the parents show up and pretend they love their children.

Happy ending, right?

Good god wrong. Thorg was shown to go back in time, arriving as Washington crosses the Delaware. Haha, so funny, right?

Deadass wrong again. I know a significant portion of chronic Rugrats fans are also privy to mathematical and philosophical constructs, so I'll keep this next section brief. The Butterfly Effect states that a small change to a complex system can cause radical changes due to the dependence of every further action within this system upon the mechanisms that have already occurred within it. The metaphor comes from the idea that in weather forecasting, the slightest, tiniest shift in variables or conditions, can radically alter the path of a storm or the weather overall due to just how many variables are interacting, summarized by the metaphorically example of a butterfly flapping its wings and changing the weather system.

In short: one change in a complex system irrevocably changes everything that occurs after it like a ripple effect. You think Thorg going back in time doesn't radically alter Washington and his men? Determine the timing and outcome of the battle that day? Doesn't this radically impact the timing and actions and thoughts within the rest of their lives, which impacts everyone who interacts with them...which impacts the entire nation.

If we assume Thorg went back in time, EVERYTHING that has occurred in American history has done so under an EXACT series of conditions dependent upon him arriving there. If Reptar didn't push Thorg into the machine, who is to say what the world would be like today? We may not have a nation, we may not have had world wars, and I honestly doubt we would have had 9/11.

Can Reptar shoulder this burden? I actually think so because he's tough as fuck. The shit head babies, however?

They deserve consequences for their actions.

Discussion Sonic SaTAM was never popular in Europe

I just found out that despite the popularity of Sonic franchise in European countries, Sonic SaTAM was never popular in Europe compared to North America since Sega of Europe had their own canon at time that was very different from Sega of America before the franchise started adopting the original Japanese canon from Sonic Adventure onwards while Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog was far more popular in Europe.
