Hello!
I want to share my story about a Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus (MEG7) that still hasnāt come to an end. Iād like to hear your ideas and suggestions.
The phone was bought around 2018, and by mid-2019 it was successfully put on a shelf. It gathered dust there for another year ā until 2020, when I decided to turn it on again.
I enter my password ā it doesnāt accept it. Did I forget the password in a year? Unlikely. I clearly knew which digit combinations I liked. Although the brain can distort information ā and I do take that into account.
Anyway, I couldnāt crack the password back then. The phone went back on the shelf ā and stayed there until 2026, when I remembered the old guy again.
The phone allows password attempts every 5 minutes. I made a mix of my old passwords and common combinations, carried the phone with me literally everywhere, and entered options. Iāve already tried about 900 of them without repeats. Still nothing. Iām continuing.
The bootloader is most likely locked. Root rights probably arenāt there either.
Also, I noticed something strange ā after several password attempts, the quick access to the camera and flashlight disappears. But if I turn the phone off, put it on charge, and turn it on after a while, everything appears again.
About the touchscreen: I checked it in emergency calls ā all digits register correctly. Although the screen was cracked and has a āspider webā on it.
I also saw a post where someoneās system stopped accepting the correct password, and a reboot helped. What do you think ā can the system really glitch like this? Or what else could be the problem? Maybe after a huge number of attempts, the phone got permanently locked and I just canāt see it?
Iād be glad to hear from you, ladies and gentlemen, Xiaomi fans.
