And she said it wasn’t a floater. Thats what she thought. Only thing I can think of is when you look into a bright light a little too long and see a temporary color spot.

I’m 27m 5’10 200lb zyn use. I am prone to cold sores, that’s what I initially thought this was. I noticed it about 4 weeks ago. It doesn’t itch or burn or seem to get worse or better. Every few days a thin layer of skin peels off of it, but it’s not a scab.

I always feel like something is in me (pelvic region)

Upvotes

Female 30 5 foot 2 110lbs. I have been having the weirdest symptoms. This new symptom idk how to describe. I could just have a bowel movement but still feel like there’s a poo in me. Or it feels like there’s a buttplug or something all the time but there’s nothing there. It hurts.

My other symptoms have been fatigue, extreme brain fog, awful stomach pains, huge bloating, i bruise even though nothing has happened, I don’t sleep well because I’m in tummy pain or gassy, nauseous often, my joints hurt so bad. I’m getting weird white spots on my torso, I get random little hives I guess. I keep losing weight without trying. Sex hurts. I have to seriously push to urinate. I always have diarrhea with the occasional constipation but never normal. I bruise easily. Brain fog is for seriously bad. My periods are extraordinarily irregular maybe 4 a year. (treated for SIBO once but return visit isn’t until October for GI).

It almost feels like something is inside me and putting pressure on my bladder and bumhole. It also is sore if I press my stomach.

Oh, and I’m getting a weird hole right above my belly button. Like the muscle is missing or something so freaking weird. I think it’s from bloating so much. When I say I’m the tiniest human ever but look 9 months pregnant when I bloat I am so serious.

The fatigue is so bad that I’m actually depressed from it. Like I can’t sleep at night and it’s making me exhausted, tired and cranky. I just don’t want to be me anymore cause it sucks so bad.

I was negative for celiacs (blood test only). My ANA was also negative.

I’m just curious what you guys think? I feel like I’m actually going insane. I

Chest and neck night sweats

Upvotes

35 Female, 5’7, 140, no known health issues, taking prenatal vitamins. 9 months postpartum. Non smoker. Non drinker.

For the past week ish I’ve woken up (usually do to a child) and realized that my back of my neck and chest between my breast were somewhat sweaty. Not drenching by any means. Nowhere else on my body was sweaty. Any insight on why this could be happening? Freaking me out a little bit.

23M - What is this lesion on back side of tongue

Post image
Upvotes

23M - I noticed this a few days ago. It‘s similar on the other side of my tongue but not as bad. I’ve been sick with COVID and another cold back to back which I’m recovering from, so I’m not sure if it could be related.

My biggest fear is oral cancer since I smoked for a bit when I was younger. I’m following the 2 week observation rule but am pretty anxious, wondering if I should be concerned?

Oral HSV outbreak or sunburn?

Post image
Upvotes

I am 20 FTM 5'8 about 150lb. I was diagnosed in about October of last year with HSV type 2 in the groin area. I have not had a cold sore on my mouth before, my partner 19 FTM has never had an hsv symtoms or an outbreak. This formed over night, woke up in the night to a weird bump on my lip, woke up in the morning and it was definitely more noticeable and turned harder, it has now been about 10 hours, it is not as hard and it looks like this. I have been on accutane for about 10 months now, i was recently in California and at the beach for 2 days. We got back 2 days ago on sunday, I got a little burnt on my face and legs but didn't feel anything forming on my lip or any extra redness in the area. I was thinking it could be either one of these because of my diagnosis and how accutane can cause a lot of sun sensitivity

3rd kneecap dislocation, same knee each time. Likelihood of MPFL tear?

Upvotes

24, Male, 5’9 170lbs.
No medication, no smoking.

I’m in the uk so waiting times are long, just trying to get an idea of what’s going on. I don’t think it’s a chronic thing, the previous time was back in 2019, and the first time probably 2011, roughly. I would be surprised if the ligaments aren’t all kinds of messed up.

This happened on August 28th, I’m in a ROM brace currently but now my doctor has told me to take it off.
I really don’t feel comfortable doing that, having the support from the brace helps me remain at least a bit active. I understand it’s not keeping my kneecap in place but the fear of it happening again makes me want to just keep the brace on.

I’m hesitant to try lamotrigine

Upvotes

I’m a 32 year old female and I’m 5’6” and weigh 158lbs. I have been going to a psychiatrist on and off for a decade. I was started on focalin for inability to focus when I was 23 but I don’t know if I have ADD/ADHD. It did help me focus when I did any certain activity. I followed up with my doctor and I told her I saw a nurse practitioner a few years before coming back to her and she gave me lexapro 10mg. I took 1 pill and I had horrible insomnia for 2 weeks, a thought of jumping out of my window, 1 dream of self harm, and 1 dream of gore/blood. After 14 days I went back to normal.

My doctor mentioned I might have a mood disorder so she suggested other SSRI’s or Lamotrigine which is a mood stabilizer. I don’t know if I need that. I told her I have anxiety. I wake up at 3am and am unable to go back to sleep half the time and this has been happening for the past 4 years. Will Lamotrigine help with that? Because of my adverse reaction to the lexapro does that mean I might be bipolar? She suggested making a mood chart for 30 days then coming back to her. I was kind of disappointed I wasn’t given anything for my sleep and anxiety.

Left side of body significantly warmer than right side, headache on right side of head. SLIGHT tingling in left arm earlier. Cause for concern?

Upvotes

23M 202lbs topical minoxidil for beard, vaping, had a couple beers today.

Just wondering if I should be concerned. My right side feels very cold and my left side is very hot, especially after light activity. There was a VERY slight tingling in my left arm earlier, but that’s the hot side. When I touch my ear with the opposite hand there’s a very distinct temperature difference. Even when I clasp hands I can tell. I currently have a headache behind my right eye but right eye only.

does my doctor think I'm just looking for stimulants?

Upvotes

Age 20

Height 153 cm

Weight 41 kg

Race Latino

Duration of complaint just today

Location usa

Any existing relevant medical issues depression and anxiety

I'm currently taking 20mg of lexapro and 150mg of Wellbutrin and I've been on them for over a year now, but my therapist had me screened for adhd and she thinks I would really benefit from being medicated for it. And actually, I had a previous therapist last year who said the same thing but at the time I was more like "no no it's nothing I'm fine I'm normal there's nothing wrong with me". Now that I'm hearing this diagnosis for a second time I decided to bring it up to my psychiatrist who then said "let me educate you". He said that being on antidepressants and stimulants can have adverse side affects and that I'm definitely not well suited for them. He also had me do a screening and gave me another diagnosis, if that says anything. Idk. I'm just confused and lost now cause I'm just trying to listen to what my doctors are saying and live a life where I don't hate myself for not being "normal". I feel upset at my psychiatrist for belittling me but like was he right? Or does he just think I'm being an annoying college aged kid looking for adderall???

How to tell if I broke my tailbone

Upvotes

I am 39, male, weigh 170, and am 5'9. (wouldn't let me post without this information).

On Friday day I was skateboarding, fell on concrete and landed fairly hard on my butt. It actually knocked the wind out of me a bit. I got up walked it off and quit for the day. Saturday it hurt pretty bad and if I walked up or down stairs or moved in certain ways it would hurt. Sunday and Monday were mostly fine but still had some pains, again if I moved in certain ways like bending over to pick something up, and when I tried to pick up a computer and pack it up in a box I felt a fair bit of pain. However today it was hurting sometimes throughout the day with a constant dull pain (though sometimes it would go away) or just feel tight around the area.

From what I can see there is no visible bruising. That said, just standing, sitting I feel no pain at all (aside from the constant dull pain today but sitting/standing did not change the pain difference). Walking I don't feel much pain either unless, again I move in certain ways.

I feel like if it was broken it would hurt all the time, especially when I sit, but am wondering what some symptoms would be if it was a small fracture. I am considering going to the Dr. tomorrow or Thursday if only to confirm it so that I can change my workload to light duty and not skateboard until healed. If it isn't broken then I can work and "play" however I want without worry and just deal with the pain.

Amoxicillin 500mg to start 24 hours before wisdom tooth extraction

29F, 165lbs, 5’6”. I was prescribed Amoxicillin 500mg to start taking 24 hours before my dental surgery. So I took my first dose today at 11am as the surgery is tomorrow at 11. I have to take it every 8 hours but I don’t wanna wake up at 3am every day for a week😭 I called 5 pharmacists and got 6 different answers lol. Can I just take the 2nd dose at 11pm tonight so that I can do 7am-3pm-11pm daily? Or what do you guys recommend?

Cervical Dystonia

Upvotes

Hi! 26f (I have UC in remission) sorry if it’s a long post. I recently got diagnosed with mild cervical dystonia after almost 3 years of having symptoms I couldn’t explain, it started with the tendency of touching my chin (which I have come to know is a sensory trick) when sitting because my head would feel too heavy for my neck and I would feel dizzy. I also had neck tension mainly on one side. I had 2 rounds of xeomin injections so far (not sure about the number of units but as per my specialist it’s a conservative dose given my case is mild; she asked if I want to increase the second dose but I didn’t want to so I could compare both rounds). the injections helped with releasing the tension, but I still struggle when sitting for long periods of time.

It’s so odd because as long as I am standing, walking or even sitting in a moving train/car, I feel completely fine (no exaggeration), but my main issue is when I am sitting and given that I am a student, having to type with both hands can get so challenging.

I guess I am posting out of desperation because I want to know if there are anecdotes of similar cases where the injections and treatment helped others get to a functional stage. I also find it very peculiar how the symptoms kinda vanish when I am in a moving vehicle or when I am distracted which makes no sense to me. I am grateful it doesn’t affect my life in other ways, but having to sit for long periods of time just makes me feel so helpless.

I am also based in Ontario, Canada if anyone has recommendations for specific movement disorder specialists, I would really appreciate your input.
Thank you!!

Physician Responded Should my psychiatrist have taken me off seroquel cold turkey?

Upvotes

Hello! Im 19 AFAB, about 140 lbs. Ive been on seroquel since I was 14. My psychiatrist switched me to abilify last night and told me to stop taking my 100mg dose of seroquel cold turkey. It seemed odd to me but ive worked with her for a bit so I didnt want to question it. Im definitely having withdrawals though. They aren't severe just uncomfortable, nausea, dizziness, irritable. Im also on Cymbalta, now on Abilify 5, ramelton, topemax, magnesium oxide, omeprezole, famotadine, and a cranberry supplement. Was she supposed to cut me off suddenly or should I try to ween myself off?

How concerned should I be about my blood pressure readings?

Upvotes

29F, 5’5”, 153 lbs. I’m on the combined pill (Ocella) and no other medications or supplements. I don’t drink or smoke.

I’m asking about my blood pressure readings. It appears that my blood pressure has been slowly increasing over the past year. See below the last 3 readings:

April 2025: 120/70
May 2026: 128/78
August 24, 2026: 130/78
September 1, 2026: 136/86

It is also worth noting that my resting heart rate has also increased a bit in the last year, from about 70 BPM to 80 BPM.

I have been on Ocella since April 2025. I am a fairly healthy and active person; I eat almost exclusively home cooked meals with lean proteins, whole grains and vegetables. I lift weights 4x/week on average and take a brisk walk after dinners most days (about 30-45 minutes). I go for longer hikes on weekends. I don’t do drugs but I do drink coffee, probably between 200-350 mg of caffeine per day.

My question is: how concerned should I be about my blood pressure readings? I’ve had my cholesterol checked and all was normal. I’ve been getting headaches more frequently and the timeline seems to coincide with the increasing BP, which is also why I’m concerned. My gynecologist said I probably just have white coat BP readings but I’m dubious, as this was never an issue for me in the past. I am fairly young to be dealing with hypertension, and to my knowledge, it does not run in my family. Any insights or advice on what to do next would be appreciated.

Amoxicillin resistant tonsil infection/abscess? 24 Female 5’4 185 reoccurring infection

Post image
Upvotes

I was seen by urgent care twice a few weeks ago (August 7th) regarding one sided tonsil pain, swelling and exudate. I also had a low grade fever and fatigue. I was tested for strep which came back negative. The doctor had told me the first visit that it could possibly be a peritonsillar abscess and to come in again if things got worse. I came back a day or two later with worsening swelling and pain. Still concerned it was a small or not super severe abscess she prescribed me amoxicillin. I took the entire prescription as prescribed and the symptoms slowly dissipated and went away for about 2 weeks. Yesterday I noticed pain in my ears and jaw. throat dryness and like something is stuck in my throat. I looked at my throat in the mirror and my tonsil is very swollen, red and has exudate. I took my temperature and it is 99.3. I went to my pcp and got prescribed amoxicillin again this time for 10 days instead of 7. After taking my now 4th dose (yesterday morning and night and today morning and night) now my other tonsil has white patches starting to show. And my throat still feels blocked a bit with pressure when swallowing. But I don’t have other symptoms such as fever, hot potato voice or any unbearable pain.
I reached out to my doctor for a ENT referral and they have yet to respond. At what point is an ER visit needed? And will I need a tonsillectomy at this point?

Partially dissected aorta

Upvotes

43 yo male 5'9" 160 lbs. Healthy. I was overseas when I got a CT scan and they saw that I have a **partially** dissected aorta. I do not have any of the images or paperwork. I'm back in the US and can't seem to get a doctor to believe me and give me another CT scan. I've been selective with what I tell my doctor, as I don't trust insurance companies to care or do what is in my best interest. I've reported the symptoms and requested a CT scan, but they just give me EKG and stress test.

What is my best way forward? I have Kaiser insurance in Oregon.

What kind of Doctor for bone mass on head?

Upvotes

In June I noticed a bone mass on the top of my head, near the hairline, just left of the center. It’s about 1 cm wide (right to left) and 3 cm long going towards the back of my head. It has two very clear and straight indents on the right and left sides.

Ultrasound shows soft tissue is normal. (Went to dermatologist because it’s where I had a basal cell carcinoma removed in 2017.) No head injuries.

What kind of doctor should I see to get it checked?

Female 48; 5’7”; 180lbs
Medication
Viibryd, Crestor, lisinopril, Wegovey, lamictal, metoprolol succinate, Emgality, Rx Vit D, Advil/Tylenol

Conditions
High blood pressure, high cholesterol, tachycardia, depression, migraines

Last labs showed low Vit D everything else normal

Brief episodes of intense sound, smell, and light sensitivity, combined with dizziness, nausea, tiredness, and a really thick headed feeling above/behind the eyes. Could it be related to migraines?

Upvotes

* Male 32 270lb

* Taking Zepbound 5mg for weight loss but this has happened to me before.

* Migraines, usually triggered by my horrible posture. If I don't take 800mg advil + 1500mg methocarbamol right away, they usually get bad. Sometimes that doesn't stop them, and if I already have it bad it mostly does nothing. Usually on one side of my head/face, throbbing, the outer cartilage of my ear will even hurt. Light and sound sensitivity. When I sit up or stand during one, I have about 10sec before the pain shoots up to 9/10, half the time if I'm on my way somewhere I'll have to drop to my knees and cry in pain while it feels like my head/face/eyeball is being crushed/stabbed, always throbbing. Auras vary. Twice in my life I've got the rainbow electric zigzags, a few years back it seemed fairly consistent that I'd be seeing shimmering when I closed my eyes, like light reflecting off the water and onto a wall, and I'd get really tired.

* I'm usually sensitive to light all the time. I'd be happiest to wear my sunglasses indoors most days. Sound sensitivity too, some family members can sneeze in the same room as me and it physically hurts my ears. Also phantom smells, almost daily for as long as I can remember, never bad, almost always food smells or locations I know.

The first time I remember this happening to me was about 2012. I made tuna salad for lunch and something about the smell was making me feel sick. Later that day my family was baking chocolate cake, and although it smelled like chocolate cake, it too was making me extremely nauseous. Lights started being way too bright, I got tired and that thick headed sensation, then I had probably the worst diarrhea of my life. Lasted for a few hours, I fell asleep with horrible chills, woke up 2hr later feeling fine.

Never had diarrhea associated with it again, but sound started being a part of it. Today I had breakfast and lunch without issue, and before supper it kicked in. Started with nausea, the thick headed feeling and tiredness. Took the advil and muscle relaxer. In the next 30min light sensitivity like I've never experienced, made me feel sick. And the smell of frying eggs and bacon was so overpowering and nauseating. I ate leftover pasta and steak instead. Dish soap smell was also like 100x more powerful than ever. Sound started being an issue, any sound at all. Not that it was too loud, it mostly made me want to throw up. I did have some concerns about diarrhea but it never occurred. This all lasted a few hours and now I feel fine.

Does this sound migraine related?

Eagle Syndrome with unknown comorbidity

Upvotes

31 (M), 230lb (lost 6 lb in the past 7 days)

I have symptoms of eagle syndrome. I'm getting faint. My teeth hurt. It's painful and difficult to swallow. A hypermobility disorder runs in my family. We think it is Ehlers Danlos but have never done the blood work. I fit the criteria for it including history of joint dislocations, scars that heal inward, etc.... Years ago my lymph nodes swelled up under my chin to the size of golf balls for about a week and then went back to normal over about 3 weeks. Since thin I've had neurological issues like sciatica. I have Raynaud's sign. I used to run 7km 4 days a week and do HIIT the other 3 days until the neurological issues began. I did physical therapy for years and now I am trying to do weight training which is better for hypermobility. My styloid process, according to the radiologist that did my CT scan, is normal size but my juggular is compressed (secondary to the styloid process) on both sides. I'm missing a ton of work. I haven't socialized in 2 months now. I'm dehydrated and only eat when the hunger is worse than the pain of eating. I lay on the floor when I'm not at work. I've went to an ENT who said I don't have eagle syndrome (took about 30 seconds to look at my CT scan) and refused to treat me for the symptoms that are in my throat. I see a neurologist in a couple weeks who "can diagnose but not treat" eagle syndrome. I feel like I'm going to die before I get taken seriously. How do I find a doctor that will treat me?

I take low dose naltrexone for chronic pain (2mg), and 300mg gabapentin as needed. Gabapentin does not help at all. A taper of methylpredesalone 2 weeks ago was the only relief I've had. I'm about to start another taper.

I'm a 31 year old while male, 5'11", living in the US.
