Discussion Unpopular opinion but Audi A5 B8 > B8.5
What do you think? (Design wise) I think the B8 looks more elegant

Title states my current situation. Had an a4 prior to my q5. Now my q5 is at 102k miles and just got out of the shop for a coolant leak. Two hoses were busted. Earlier this year spent $3k on starter and brakes. The prior year was another $2,600-3,000/yr for rebuilding my rear suspension. Sway links, control arm bushings, etc.
I have a small amount left on my 2018 q5 and looking at a 2019 q8 with 35k miles on it. Payments will go up a bit and already checked with insurance. I was set after doing my own research but now finding more posts in this subreddit and I have my doubts. lol should I or should I not get the q8?

Recently leased new Q5 last week and I actually don’t like it. Is paying off the remaining balance the only option if I want to return it? Can I trade it to other dealerships?
UPDATE:
I got a trade in quote from another dealership for 40k, car original price is 60k, and the lease residual amount at end of lease shows 37k. so what happens with my remaining balance? can I still get out of the lease?

Trying to sell my Audi to a 3rd party dealer. She is fully cherries out premium plus. Carbon fiber interior and exterior, sport differential, sport steering, sport suspension, nappa leather, sport resonator delete (port installed so it's not after market), only has 16.5k miles on it. Paint corrected and ceramic coated. What's a reasonable offer to accept?

Hey! So it only happens at low speeds when I let go of the accelerator and the car is either in the first or second gear. Not really sure where it is coming from or what it could be. Any ideas?

I recently replaced the PK/serpentine belt set and noticed this strange rattling/rasping noise on cold starts. After driving for a while and the engine warms up, the noise disappears. It comes back again when the car is cold.
Could this be the belt tensioner/idler pulley, alternator pulley, or possibly the water pump? Has anyone with the 2.0 TFSI had a similar noise? Car has 200k km.
I’ll attach a recording/video of the sound.

Just had this message on my dash on an a4 b9 2.0 tdi. Got it scanned at the garage and they have recommended to get an ‘Ad blue delete’. Can someone please tell me if they have chosen this option before and how is the car now, have you guys had any future problems and most importantly they did mention that it will pass an MOT. I understand it is slightly illegal but how would one get caught?
For info I got quoted £180 for a delete and £3000+ for a replacement.
Any advice is highly appreciated.

Just got a 2025 RS3 Sportback. The GPS worked fine for a few days after I got it, but now there isn’t a single day when the GPS doesn’t freak out and show me in the middle of a lake or miles away from where I actually am.
Is there any fix for this issue? It has also happened with Audis I’ve rented in the past.
Thanks!

Hello,
I just purchased my first Audi in January and have had some issues with the Drivers assist from rear sensors to just randomly as i'm driving down the road it will give me an error message stating that there is an issue and put me into limp mode if i restart the car this goes away and is very sporatic. i have taken it to Audi and at first they blamed it on a corroded plug for the rear sensors. since then i had a cracked windshield which they replaced with an OEM windshield and now i got the error again. Looking at the service records the alternator and 48 v battery have already gone through the recall process.
Is this something I'm just going to have learn to live with. Or is this something major i need to stay on Audi to fix, it's getting very expensive.
Also, with all these electrical issues i assume replacing the factory sub with an aftermarket amp and sub could cause more issues with this?

Currently driving a 2018 Q5 premium plus that I've had for 7 years, and I'm itching to upgrade to the electric version. I did some research and found that apparently the Q6 is better than the Q8, and since I like to buy slightly used, I see a lot of 2025's are available averaging around 45k. I guess they skipped the 2026 model in favor of changes in 2027 but is the 2025 still worth buying? Used Q8's and Q4's are much cheaper and more plentiful, but is it worth waiting for the right Q6? Any advice helpful thx!
I've gotten my self a Audi A4 B6 S Line With a 3.0i V6 and i just want to know what your opinions are about it since ai and that is not helpful
its got around 270,000 km and is sounding good (obiously needs nome fixing)
but im more willing to know any tips of keeping it good for a long time
B9 S4 2019.
50k miles
Got the water pump problem, and just wondering if anyone has the links to the vacuum system lines that i should replace and to a kit to replace everything. Me and my cousins who is an audi tech will be doing it so no outrageous prices just need help on what i should order to replace everything.

Hi everyone. I’m looking for a mechanic that is knowledgeable with Audis. I have a 2018 Audi Q3 that needs brake pads replacements. Also need the MAF sensor and crankshaft sensor to be checked for cleaning. Does anyone know of a good spot or a mobile mechanic that can help with this?

Ive been looking at A8s, all from D2s to D4s and i notice that the pre facelift D4s are waaay cheaper compared to the facelift ones
I understand that facelifts make a car more expensive, but the facelifts one are waaay more expensive than pre facelift D4s. Like a low milage 2011 D4 costs around 20 000€, and a facelift one costs about 45-50 000€.
I wonder, is there something that makes the pre facelift ones less desirable? Is there a huge fault with the pre facelift ones?
Hi,
I'm experiencing issues with the capacitive sensor on the steering wheel, I noticed a while ago that whenever ACC is activated I get constant warnings while previously there were none as it was registering touch status, now it requires to gently move the steering wheel as a fallback.
Based on the OBDEleven logs I get Touch Status = Error, it says there is no malfunction. Check screenshots.
Anyone with some experience about this and maybe a possible solution? Audi official service said maybe a steering wheel replacement will resolve this issue, but they are not confident about it, and I don't want to experiment.
Keep in mind I recently changed the windshield, maybe this was the trigger when it stopped working, not sure, it was told to me that there were no need for any recalibration and indeed everything works corresponding to the camera.
Thanks.

Question as above — recently purchased this S3, seems overall quite stout and I’m not overly concerned about the rest of the vehicle — runs strong and the biggest issue otherwise is a minor timing cover leak.
I haven’t seen any signs of coolant loss, level is staying steady. No coolant on the ground, and I put an endoscope under the manifold and didn’t see any pink crystallization or anything of the sort. Oil temps stay consistent between 217 and 226 F, the latter during harder driving. There is a slight antifreeze smell.
New to the world of Audi so just wanted opinions! If it fails is it immediate and catastrophic? Or will a top off be okay to get me a long way. This is a 9 hour round trip drive I intend on making, and if there is even a considerable risk I’ll find alternative transportation as don’t wanna chance having to get a town across state lines. Thanks!

Hey everyone! I have a 2024 Audi S5 and wanted to get a brake job done (replace all 4 rotors and pads, 2 sensors, and do a brake fluid flush). I've decided on going with the Zimmerman Rotors and Textar Pads since I daily drive the car but also go on backroads to have some fun.
I live near Toronto, Canada and a local shop here quoted me $2360 CAD (tax included) to order everything and install. I wanted to ask if:
Thanks!

Hey, I currently have a 2019 rs5 sportback and looking to get a tune done to it. Itll be my first performance mod and Im looking for the right company. i was originally going with 034 MotorSport for a stage 2+ TCU and ECU, but I was at a meet and people were recommending Jackal MotorSports. Any feedback will be helpful. Thanks :)
