Hey guys! I’ve always loved café racers and have been kicking around the idea of building one. I haven’t owned anything remotely café-ish since an old CB350 from sometime in the ’80s.
I currently have a 2024 Street Triple 765 RS and a 2023 Trident 660. The Street Triple is my daily/commuter (and I ride a lot), so I’m leaning toward using the Trident as the project bike so I don’t make less ergonomic, but I’d love some input. No warranties or anything worried about, it’s used from Mosites.
I’m not looking to do anything insanely elaborate, but I have seen a few pictures of an awesome one that was a triple 675 from a guy in Tokyo. I mostly want to capture the spirit of a café racer. I’ve seen some of the café kits available for the Trident, but I generally prefer the really minimalist, stripped-down builds rather than big fairings or a ton of added bodywork.
Has anyone done something similar with a Trident, or have any ideas, recommendations, parts, or builds I should check out? I’d especially love to see examples of more minimalist/modern café builds for inspiration.
Also, I’m in Pittsburgh, PA if anyone local ever wants to ride!
