Back on the road after replacing some rotten fuel line connectors and upgrading the original axial master cylinders to modern radial setups.

Photo Old history but my first 650 Build

This one was a long time ago but it was a good experience and had fun putting it together. Mostly trimming, deleting and sourcing of small bits here and there at swap meets to put it back on the road. It started as a derelict bike sitting behind a garage getting rusty. So it was a gamble of time more than dollars. I think all in it was about a 700 or 800 dollar project. I didn't take a picture of the seat construction but it was hand built out of the back part of a 650 gas tank welded on a stock steel pan. I liked the line it matches the tank up front. Thanks for inviting me in to this forum.

Where do I start?

Just bought my first bike ever a 77 Suzuki gs400 and want to do a cafe build I need to knock out some mechanical issues as well as rebuild the forks and get new tires before I tackle anything super cosmetic what's the best place to start sourcing parts for this? I want to a carb rebuild first and foremost and am hoping to just find a rebuild kit is that really achievable on a bike this old?

Advice/Help Needed Café Race fun

Hey guys! I’ve always loved café racers and have been kicking around the idea of building one. I haven’t owned anything remotely café-ish since an old CB350 from sometime in the ’80s.

I currently have a 2024 Street Triple 765 RS and a 2023 Trident 660. The Street Triple is my daily/commuter (and I ride a lot), so I’m leaning toward using the Trident as the project bike so I don’t make less ergonomic, but I’d love some input. No warranties or anything worried about, it’s used from Mosites.

I’m not looking to do anything insanely elaborate, but I have seen a few pictures of an awesome one that was a triple 675 from a guy in Tokyo. I mostly want to capture the spirit of a café racer. I’ve seen some of the café kits available for the Trident, but I generally prefer the really minimalist, stripped-down builds rather than big fairings or a ton of added bodywork.

Has anyone done something similar with a Trident, or have any ideas, recommendations, parts, or builds I should check out? I’d especially love to see examples of more minimalist/modern café builds for inspiration.
Also, I’m in Pittsburgh, PA if anyone local ever wants to ride!

Finally finished and very happy with the aesthetic.

For the haters, yes, the photo has had some AI colour enhancement 😅

Question Looking for opinions

I'm currently modifying the frame on my 1980 XS400. I plan on making a fiberglass seat pan with a hump. I am looking for feedback on ratios and suspension clearance. The clubmans are only there for mockup purposes...

Advice/Help Needed Caferacer knutselaar in Groningen?

Honda CB750 Replacement AirBox

Hello everyone, I have been deveolping an airbox with the goal in mind to make a compact, clean airbox inspired by the style of the Cognito Moto setup, but specifically designed around the stock CB750 engine and CV carb style. The airbox keeps almost the exact AFR ratio as the OEM airbox, so no tuning, re-jetting, taping, or any other modification is required, unlike pods or even the Cognito Moto airbox. The small design makes it easy to pull out of the frame. Selling at $99.99, which includes everything needed except the UNI air filter the design is built around. Looking to see if anyone is interested in something like this! Respond if interested or with any questions. Thanks!

Would anyone be interested in taking the project off my hands? XS750 and XS850* triples, air-cooled.

CA Bay Area. Black one runs. Complete bikes. Both titled. Please lowball especially if bringing a truck. I can deliver as well.

Thanks r/caferacers!

Advice/Help Needed Underseat exhaust with 1979 cb640?

Hey y'all, I am picking up a cb650 this sunday, and while I first want to finish it up so I can ride with it, I am already brainstorming a bit about possible directions for future builds. I find underseat exhausts quite cool if done right

However, underseat exhausts with a twin suspension system is seemingly non-existent. The only real picture (first pic) I could find is on a random website not linking the build.

The question is this: What ways of routing an exhaust pipe would I be able to use such that I can keep the twin suspension system?

If anyone has experience with this I would love to hear it!

What seat for CG125?

I'm currently building a cafe racer. I'm using a Honda CG125. I really dont want to cut the frame as im doing it on a budget and will want to make it road legal and this will mean getting it welded. Does anyone know any seats that bolt straight on or have any ideas on getting around it? Really appreciate any help! Funnily enough this has been the most difficult part this build.

Scrambler tires for BMW R75/7 without changing the rims

Post image
112 Upvotes

Hi,

I'm looking for scrambler/enduro-style tires for my R75/7—using the stock rims (19" front / 18" rear)—without making any modifications to the bike.

I want a chunky, rugged look, but I know space is limited at the rear (tight swingarm clearance).

Do you have any specific tire models that work well on this bike?

Thanks!
