Looking for resort recommendations for Antigua for November, 2 adults. Budget around $2-3k usd max for 6 nights. Doesn’t have to be all inclusive, we like to venture out and try new foods
I’ve been looking into Hawksbill, ocean point, jolly resort, and pineapple beach club (a little too expensive than I’d like for us tbh) and am reading mixed feedback on all of them
Does anyone have feedback for these resorts? Or anything different?
I’m looking for something relaxed with a good beach entry point. We also like to snorkel.

My fiancée and I are planning a honeymoon for the end of March/beginning of April. I have repeatedly tried to figure out which island to go to and i feel like the more I ask Chat GPT the more I get confused lol. I do need suggestions on islands and resorts to go to. We also do not drink so drinking packages would not sway us. Our budget is around 5-6K.

What we want is

• A swimmable beach
•  A good pool at the resort
•  Tropical scenery, not just a resort surrounded by flat land
•  Ability to explore the island
•  Hiking, waterfalls, rainforest, volcano hikes would be amazing
•  Good restaurants and some opportunities to dress up and have nice dinners

Hi all! Thank you for all of the recommendations in the past. I’m finally traveling to Curaçao for my birthday and I only have my housing + car booked. I’m open to experiences but also want some sort of a plan! I live in a fast paced city and this trip is truly a way for me to relax and recharge. I love meeting new people (other solo travelers, locals, and just mingling). I have a budget of about $250-300 for activities, so I’m trying to figure out what’s worth it.

I really would love to go to a beach club multiple times a week, museums, and shop locally. I also want to learn about the culture through walking tours and cooking classes. beach clubs, museums, or shopping. Where do solo travelers typically go? Are there any chats I can join? A lot of the activities I’m finding are quite expensive.

I normally like to try new places when I go on vacation but I fear our last trip to the Caribbean spoiled me. We stayed at the Grand Case Beach club and absolutely fell in love with everything about it....

We loved how the hotel was small but still had some amenities and a substantial restaurant.

We loved the walkway along the water and how beautiful, swimmable, and quiet the beaches were.

We loved the views from the pool.

We loved how it was walkable to town and how fantastic the restaurants were in Grand Case, including both high end and and the lolos.

We loved that Grand Case was lively enough for us at night but still felt low key and chill and not too clubby which is not our scene.

I keep searching for something similar, but keep wanting to pull the trigger and thinking nothing is quite like it. Is the only solution to just go back?

I have been enjoying snorkelling here in Turks & Caicos, on the north side of Grand Turk. Which other destinations around the Caribbean have great snorkelling?

I’m looking for a Caribbean destination that checks all of these boxes. We did Aruba last year and it was perfect - all boxes checked. Now we need a new, similar place.

INFRASTRUCTURE: clean drinking water that you can drink from the tap.

RESORT:
- all inclusive,
- right on the beach (do not want to have to cross a road or have to walk down a path),
- good food,
- beside a little town or commercial area where we can walk, shop, explore, and eat

SAFETY: I need to feel comfortable letting teenagers walk around the beach and town with no adults at night

BEACH/WATER:
- completely swim-able.
- No rocks.
- No seaweed on the beach.
- Clear, blue water.

COST: not the Ritz Carleton but one step down

ADVENTURE: there has to be something to do on the island. We get bored sitting at a resort. Catamaran trip, ATV through the desert, hiking, waterfalls, rainforest, national parks, etc.

GRENADA?? ChatGPT recommended the Spice resort in Grenada - it looked perfect until I street-viewed it. There does not appear to be any quaint shops, restos, walkable activity outside the resort - just strip malls. To me, it lacked vibe. It lacked a place for the teenagers to get out and stretch their legs on their own. Aruba definitely trumps Grenada as in this respect.

Need help finding babalawo in Jamaica 🇯🇲

my boyfriend and i are planning a trip for our anniversary in march 2027 and we’re stuck between aruba and curaçao. we wanna stay for about a week and our budget is around 4k-5k total.

we definitely want somewhere romantic since it’s an anniversary trip, preferably oceanfront. an all inclusive resort sounds nice but we’re also open to an airbnb or regular beachfront hotel if it makes more sense. for anyone who’s been to both, which would you choose for a couples/anniversary trip and why? where specifically would you recommend staying?

i’d especially love recommendations for:
romantic beachfront/oceanfront resorts or hotels
airbnbs/condos or areas to look for them
whether all inclusive is actually worth it if we plan on exploring a lot
which island you think gives you more to do for a full week

My wife and I stayed in one of the private villas at Excellence Oyster Bay in Jamaica, and ever since we’ve been trying to find something with a similar setup elsewhere in the Caribbean or Mexico.

What we loved about it:
Very private/standalone villa with nothing above or immediately around you
Literally steps from the water
Private pool
Food and drinks brought directly to the villa/pool/beach whenever we wanted
Full resort restaurants available when we actually felt like leaving
Most importantly, the combination of privacy and peace & quiet while still having the convenience of a full-service resort

We basically loved being able to spend most of the day doing absolutely nothing without having to actually do anything. 😂 If we wanted food, we called and had it brought to us. If we wanted drinks, same thing. If we wanted a nice dinner, we’d walk over to a resort restaurant.

We’re not necessarily looking for another all-inclusive, either. We’re open to AI or non-AI as long as it has that same private beachfront villa + private pool + resort-level service + very little effort required on our part setup.

Does anything else in the Caribbean or Mexico come close to this? Bonus points for something that feels even more private/luxurious.

Hey everyone,

Taking a cruise on Royal Carribean's Allure of the seas in December. One of the stops is Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic. The Damajagua waterfall excursion looks really cool but my husband doesn't want to get into the water because of the risk of parasites and stuff like that. I definitely want to see a waterfall though. I was wondering if there's any suggestions of what we can do to see a waterfall that isn't too far from the port and doesn't involve swimming. Thank you.

My wife and I have traveled extensively throughout the world, including a fair number of spots in the Caribbean, and are trying to figure out where to visit for our 25th anniversary. We only have 4 or 5 nights so we plan on visiting somewhere in the Caribbean since we're based in the US. Here's the challenge. We've been to a LOT of great islands/luxury resorts but can't figure out where to go next. Places we have visited include:

• BVI - Peter Island
• Grenadines - Palm Island
• St. Lucia - Ladera
• St. Martin
• St. Kitts & Nevis - Nisbet
• Little Cayman
• Barbados
• Jamaica
• Dominican Republic

And honestly, I'm struggling with where to go next. We enjoy luxury but small luxury. We don't want a 200 room resort but we do want something unique and with friendly staff but also somewhere we can enjoy a local beach BBQ along with a higher end restaurant. We want the local vibe but also some luxury.

Right now I'm leaning towards Dominica and staying at Secret Bay Hotel but I welcome suggestions. We're an active couple (enjoy hiking, etc.) and while we enjoy the beach, if it's not white sand, that's not the end of the world. We just don't want to be in a spot where cruise ships are arriving 3 at a time each day.

TL;DR - where should I take my wife for our 25th wedding anniversary?
