I absolutely love skipper ROBIN at Trader Sam’s in Florida! I also love that it’s a lot easier to get in there now with them opening at 11 and doing a queue system. Much less competitive than trying to show up the earliest to get on the list. Anyone like a Polynesian pearl? Trader Sam’s was our first exposure to tiki and it still remains our favorite even though we’ve been to quite a few tiki bars now.

Does DisneyWorld still have a better selection of Magic Bands than online?
My son loves cars and we are looking for the Lightning McQueen magic band+. Considering having a shopper pick it up for us for his birthday.

Need to know if there is an octopus at EPCOT in the aquarium. Preferably from someone who has been there within the last week or so. We are trying to decide which park to go to (we can only do one aside from MK), and if there is an octopus somewhere, that’s where we’re going since my toddler is OBSESSED. Thanks!

Heading down at the end of the week and staying at Pop. I know pool hopping is not allowed at most resorts, but I've stayed at Port Orleans before where you can use the pools at either. I was wondering if it's the same between Pop and AoA since you can also walk between them. If not, I'll stick to Pop, just thought it'd be fun to try out all the different pools if it's allowed.

Without those two, the Finale mission can also not be played.

Victoria and Albert’s sent an email with an offer for a $99 round trip to and from dinner via Minnie Van for guests dining in the Queen Victoria room or at the Chefs Table. Anyone who has experience or knowledge about how this works I’d appreciate some advice. We are staying in a Magic Kingdom area deluxe resort so the $99 round trip is not much of a deal unless that’s including tip and the driver is awaiting you for each leg of the trip imo. Otherwise it would be less to just book a Minnie Van to and from?

If anyone is wanting to pick up an alibrije before the stand in Epcot's Mexico pavilion closes, there were still at least 200 out on display as of opening this morning (Saturday). There were boxes behind the tables, so there are likely more, but how many more depends on how large they are.

The majority of what I saw was the small pieces, in the $20-$60 range. There were a few larger pieces, but I didn't see any of the really show-stopping big pieces (I was there before the artist, so it's possible they're packed away for security). There were all kinds of animals, including lots of cats, and a few human figures, and skulls.

Social media a couple of days ago was showing 50% off signs, but those aren't there anymore. The Cast Member who rang me up said that all of the figures are now marked with their discount prices. I don't know what current prices have been to know if that's correct. My two were $30 for the happy crab, and $20 for the wary bunny.

My mom and I (31 f) are planning on doing a girls trip this January after I had twins last year. We have not been in about two years since before my pregnancy. We have been many times and I did the college program about ten years ago. I’m looking for recs on any new drinks, bars, restaurants, snacks, anything recent that is a must try! Staying at Pop for five days. We always try to do new things on our girls trips and this will likely be a last adult trip before taking my twins before they turn 3. Any recs appreciated! For reference, we love trader Sam’s and Belle vue lounge; loved brunch at Trattoria Al Forno on our last trip. We had a good time at Hoop Dee Doo a few years back. Thanks!

EPCOT Center wasn't supposed to be a theme park.

When Walt Disney passed away in 1966, his grand utopian city project died with him. Disney's board of directors and executives realized that running a functional, corporate-governed municipality without Walt at the helm was a bridge too far.

The original dream of a living, breathing community was shelved. But they were sitting on thousands of acres of Florida land with a massive infrastructure already in place. So, corporate leadership made a massive pivot: they took Walt's core concepts of technological innovation and international culture and turned them into a second theme park.

Groundbreaking for EPCOT Center officially took place on October 1, 1979. It became the largest private construction project in the world at the time, costing over $1 billion and requiring more than 10,000 workers to clear millions of cubic feet of dirt.

When it finally opened on October 1, 1982, it traded Walt’s residential city for a permanent world's fair and a showcase of human achievement.

For those of you that are unaware, several credible sources reported that the Walt Disney Company were considering on refurbishing Space Mountain at Magic Kingdom. I can speak personally that I was surprised that it wasn't announced at D23 with all the evidence that was shown. However, I don't think that this refurb isn't in the cards, it just wasn't ready to be announced. Disney has had a problem of announcing projects way too far in advance and that makes the construction time feel longer than it actually is.

What I think is that they're going to announce the refurb either at D23 2027 or 2028. It entirely depends on the scale of the refurb. If it's a simple refurb with just a new track and maybe a refreshed queue, it would be announced 2027 and open a year later. However, if the refurb is more ambitious, it would be announced 2027 and open 2 years later. I think they are going to open the newly refurbished Space Mountain in between Piston Peak and Villains Land to spread out guests across both sides of the park.
