Discussion Dream after months of studying the occult and Hermeticism
The experience.
First of all: I’ve forgotten most of the dream.
I went to bed at 3 AM, but I likely didn't actually fall asleep until after 4 a.m.—I spent a long time tossing and turning, unable to truly drift off. Before I knew it, I was in a dream unlike anything I had ever experienced before. At one point, I found myself with a man, a woman, and a third person who—throughout the experience—kept shifting forms: a baby, a man, a woman, a child, a small animal, and so on. It was a completely transformative process; if I imagined a different setting, for instance, the scenery would change instantly. The same applied to these people's appearances: I have the impression that, at one point, the woman took on the likeness of Hayley Williams. A few days prior—before I deactivated my Instagram—I had seen a recent video of her singing, and she looked absolutely stunning. I was captivated and the image stuck with me, so I have a hunch that I altered her appearance to match hers at some point. Yet, I remember that the physical appearance itself didn't matter; the message was what counted.
For starters, the dream felt like it lasted an eternity. At various times, I found myself in chaotic settings. I felt fear. I felt certain urges. I conversed with and received help from those two constantly, while the third element felt like "comic relief," given how it kept changing into something different every moment.
At one point, it clicked for me within the dream: it was as if they were my guides. Yet, they were also a product of my own desire—representing the masculine and feminine sides that exist within everyone. All this, of course, alongside our constant comic relief.
I don't recall much detail, so I can't recount the actual conversations, but I felt a sense of belonging to that plane—a confirmation that everything was okay and that things would move forward. I had a COMPLETELY TERRIBLE weekend (on the earthly plane) filled with family arguments; in a fit of rage, I told my father—who actually repeated my words back to me—that if I unlived, the world would be doing me a favor. It was as if that dream was there to say, "hey, everything is fine; stick to the plan."
I remember the very end of it with most clarity.
My body and mind didn't know they were about to wake up, but my dream-self simply told them, "I have to go now," as a way of saying goodbye. I asked if they couldn't help me, and the young man made a motion in the air as if unfurling a sheet of notebook paper; a lot of things were written there, and though I tried to read them, the only thing I could make out was "to have a child." That was the only thing I actually managed to read. I hugged each of them (actually, I only remember hugging the woman, but I believe I did the same with the man), and at that moment, the third person—a child who looked like Lambo from *Katekyo Hitman Reborn*—was there, and I remarked that he was cute.
At any other time, I would have called this a nonsensical dream, just like thousands of others I’ve had in my life. But this time, I woke up feeling something completely different, and that feeling hasn't changed since.
I woke up around 6:30 AM. Yes, just two hours of sleep for an eternity of a dream. When I woke up, I turned toward the ceiling and saw various "light shapes"—the kind the eye produces when waking up—but they appeared as various *kanji* or *hanzi* characters.
I’ve been reflecting on it, and it really made a deep impression on me.
Is it too far-fetched to call this a spiritual experience?
