Question '07 Ford Focus SE Engine Mounts

Alright so I bought my 2007 Ford Focus SE Hatchback about 4 years ago, and it's always vibrated the cabin like crazy when I drive it. I've read around and seen that it's probably the hydraulic front passenger engine mount that's causing 90% of the problem. So I want to get a quality front passenger engine mount that will last a long time. I might even get a complete kit and replace all 3 for good measure.

So I've never worked on a car this new and good before. I usually work on old junk that doesn't deserve good parts. But this is my daily, I like it, and I want to take good care of it. I went on RockAuto and saw a complete engine mount kit for $80. Here's the link. It's Marmon Ride Control.

https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=4701477&cc=1433435&pt=5552&jsn=1321

But apparently these suck. And so does every other aftermarket mount, apparently. I really don't want to fork over $120 just for ONE mount from Motorcraft, but I also want a smooth mount that will last more than a few months. But maybe that's not going to happen. Can you guys help me out?

Question Light mods for 2018 Focus SE?

I recently purchased a 2018 focus SE as my daily driver. I’m unsure what modifications I should do. I’m planning to buy some seat covers, as well as some additional interior cosmetic items. Maybe a fin or spoiler for the back? Nothing too flashy. Mainly, I’m trying to figure out what performance things I should do. Any suggestions?

Question Anyone who knows how to get the glass only?

I see on my left headlight that it's worn and getting condensation on the inside sometimes, which is an issue on the mandatory EU inspection and certification that's around January next year.

Is there a way to only get the headlight glass? I only find the entire headlight assembly on AutoDoc (10 kr =~ 1€) and I'd not fancy dealing with replacing everything inside the headlight atm.

By far the worst engineering decisions I’ve ever seen made in a car ever. Hiding the master cylinder nut behind the clutch where no human hand could ever reach is a stroke of stupidity unseen before in human history. What a bunch of absolutely brainless idiots.. 2 days later and I still can’t get this damn nut back on.

Question What is this part called?

Hi. I've broken off a part of the plastic cover under the front bumper (mounted a curb when parking).

I thought it was the engine splash shield, but I think that's further back (although open to correction). I don't think it's part of the bumper, but again I don't know what I'm talking about so open to correction. I need to source a replacement and find a mechanic to fit it, but no idea if it's a big or small job.

Thanks.

Grazie 🫂

Discussion I am stuck and in a funk. Ford Focus 2012 Power Steering Fail - big quote!

Hey guys, first post on here. I’ve got a 2012 Ford focus and after 3 and a half weeks in the dealership the mechanic has said their attempt at fixing my power steering failure has not worked. They tried to replace the sensor and reprogram it but now are saying it didn’t work and the only solution is to replace the steering unit. This was quoted at ~$3000 for a new part or ~$2000 re-manufactured part (+ shipping, + labour).

The car was only bought for $4000 7 years ago so now I’m wondering whether it is even worth replacing or I just sell it.

Any help, suggestions or opinions would be so useful as I just do not know what to do!

Question Weird noise in the engine bay

Hey there! Today my 2006 zetec focus got this weird noise out of nowhere and i noticed it after I parked tonight. It seems like it is a pulley or the alternator, however I am not quite sure. Also the car has lpg implant and the lpg filter is going to get replaced in a few days bc the kms are overdue, but does it relate to the noise? Any idea is appreciated

Question Ford Focus 1,5 EcoBoost Engine Broken

So guys, maybe you can help me. My current situation:

My Ford Focus 1,5 Liter EcoBoost from 2018 had some random starting problems since around 3 months. The problems where that after the initial start, the car vibrated for around 30-40 seconds and seem to run very unround. Only once the Engine Control light came on. The Mechanic I got to said he can only see some failures during starting but nothing else. The starting problem wasnt present when he diagnosed the car. He resettet the error message and it went away.

Last week when I wanted to start the car, the start failed 3 times. After the forth attempt it started and the vibrating thing started again.

At the same day I made an appointment at a Ford Certified Mechanic.

He called me the day after and said that when he changed the spark plugs, he saw that on one was water. He said that the engine has an defect zylinder liner ((Zylinderlaufbuchse gerissen) in german). Which caused to let water flow into the cylinder. He said the complete engine is broken and need to be replaced.

The costs are around 10k€ for a new engine. He also said that this failure is typical for that exact engine. There must be some kind of construction error for 1,5 ecoboost engines from 2015 to 2019.

So my question is, how reliable is thos whole thing? Is this really an issue that is well known?

Question Codes

Deep down, I honestly love my little Focus. I have a 2014 SE, but the amount of issues it has given me over the years.. I'm just so over it. A couple weeks ago I put $1,300 on a payment plan to fix a coolant leak and for a new radiator, I've had the clutch replaced, new engine mounts, you name it
Well now I'm having issues with what seems like the PCM.
I'm getting these codes:
P06B8
P2872
P287A
I've done a google search, but I just wanted to know if anyone has had these issues before? I was so excited to finally not be having issues with this car, I planned on driving to Vegas in September. My husband has never been out of state and I really wanted to take him. But with these issues now, it's just leaving me all stressed out.
Thanks in advance for letting me vent, and for any advice you may have.

Mechanical Help 2010 Ford Focus SES

Last weekend I took the interior apart to replace the AC evaporator core. I replaced the AC Compressor. Replaced the serpentine belt and tensioner pulley. Recharged the AC as well. There was a leak showing up on the pressure side but got that taken care of too. Blew cold Monday night, 8/24, until this morning, 8/31. Now it blows warm air. Currently 100 degrees outside and tired of spending money to fix the AC.

Any ideas on what else could be causing the issue?

Question How bad is my car going to sound if i cut my muffler off?

I had my exhaust replaced with a straight pipe from the cat converter to an oem style muffler (my midpipe was severely rusted and no midpipe at the shop was cheaper) so from the cat to the rear oem muffler is one long ass pipe, how bad will the car sound if i cut the muffler off now? because something under the car at some point poked holes in it and its raspy and annoying, i have an aftermarket magnaflow glasspack i could put on but im not sure the sizes match up and also if i put the magna on i think it will touch the ground

Question Any websites or links to buy legit Cal CARB catalytic converter for a 2007 Focus that wont break my bank?

I need a CAT Conv. for my 2007 hatchback Focus. When I bought it off a buddy of mine, he "supposedly" didn't have no idea the muffler was straight pipe. It has that loud muffler, maybe due to no damned Cat Converter on it. He never knew until I took it to get smogged so I can get the pink slip or title under my name and I told him the smog guys couldnt check or ok it since its missing a Cat. He siad he took it across the border to have a muffler installed to get that race car sound, but he never knew the mechanic there took the Cat supposedly. *Sigh* So now Im still looking for a Cat that is CARB for California. Jeez they are expensive.

Question Driver side mirror 2008 coupe

Good morning, I will be buying a fairly beat up 2008 coupe and needing to replace some things. I’m needing some help figuring out what years I can use on this driver side mirror. It would be for the housing and mirror, all of it. It seems they used this platform from 2004-2011 but the 2007-2011 is the design of the car.

I’d like to know if the coupe mirrors are the same as the sedan models, and what years should I be researching to find what I need when I either buy online, or a salvage yard.

Any help is appreciated as I know nothing about a ford focus.
