Damn gonna be so many people playing Uncharted 4 and Sleeping Dogs on 19th November
7
u/RollofDuctTape 41m ago
The salty PC players nitpicking every frame have plenty of games to play on their superior device.
7
u/ArtyGray 25m ago
Wait hold on how did pc catch a stray? How are you able to tell its pc players complaining and not just regular armchair game critics (console and pc alike)
4
u/MMMLiess 24m ago
I promise you console players are bitching about this stuff too. But none of it should be taken seriously as its such a stupid complaint. Its still a video game. It will have insane detail in 90% of it, but this happens to be one its not.
Only actual thing ive seen worthy of complaint is the minimap while driving. That scene when Jason and Lucia get into that little VW, the minimap stays so zoomed in its crazy. Should be an easy fix though so I doubt it really matter.

If you want to glaze a game over unimportant details like hair physics, people will judge the game based on unimportant details too. People can't stop talking about the graphics and shits, so far I don't even know shit about how does it plays even when GTA6 is everywhere, just "hey, look how nice this looks". Not like I care about GTA6, it's not my type of game, let just be fair and admit even fans can't stop talking about idiotic details like shit being "not realistic" while others are "incredibly realistic". Like, man, the game just needs to be fun, nothing else.

Nah backflip into water simulator
2
u/NeSToR_49 16m ago
The backflip looks to me like we'll probably be able to do tricks while in the air, like front and back flips and stuff when jumping into the water.
59
u/ventitr3 1h ago
I thought a lot of us were just joking about these things but some of you really actually care lmao.
18
2
u/NeSToR_49 13m ago
They're trying to nitpick the details so much and this is the only thing they can find... And these same people are gonna spend 7 hours playing the game once it launches and they're gonna bee too busy dressing Lucia in bikinis to even remember this bs
→ More replies (5)3
u/goinpro224 43m ago
I don’t think most people would care if GTA6 wasn’t clearly leaning into the “hyperrealism” aspect more than ever, it’s like they’re determined to make the game a real life simulation and yet don’t even do some aspects of it as well as some old games that weren’t trying to.
→ More replies (1)2
u/chrib123 12m ago
Nah GTA brings realism in iterations, and in environment but it's never 1:1 they improve a lot every time. I remember specifically them saying that "driving in GTA v was built like a racing game" and it was way better for gameplay.
I don't think anyone expects to not pull a rocket launcher out of your ass. The fridge is a silly nitpick that people are justifying as a bandwagon after the fact, nothing more. No one actually gave a fuck, they made sheep think they did.
If rockstar didn't make this GTA more realistic everyone would complain they didn't innovate. They didn't care about making a bunch of fridge animations and instead went with a simple one that allows multiple options. Its not a big deal.

grabbing something from a fully stocked fridge has been technologically possible since the days of 1st gen 3d gaming.

People saying ts not realizing there is a ton of options to choose from in GTA 6, NTM it's an optional fridge where as most of the others shown is a one time animation the game makes you do
20
u/DiverVisible3940 1h ago
People also don't understand that making decisions like this is exactly why Rockstar is goated.
They most definitely could have developed a system to ensure that in-stock items dynamically populated fridges and have animations that accommodate this. But if you start doing this to every single detail and every single permutation in a game that is meant to be reactive and dynamic in a massive context you end up lost in the sauce.
This is why Star Citizen is where it is and GTA 6 is where it is.
→ More replies (16)6
u/its_witty 1h ago
I'm not really sure if it would be possible...
Even 20 different items means how many different configurations... and animation for each? Without clipping when grabbing it?

u/Xyrger 1h ago
It doesn't have grabbing animation or opening fridge animation at all. Fridge just magically opens and magically closes, and Vito staring at you with his dead look when "drinking" and bottle doesn't even touch the lips.
The only thing it has is like 5 fridge food textures, that changes once you use any of the sandwiches or cola when character "opens" fridge. Zero animations
5
u/jeneschi 2h ago
what do you even mean
9
u/40kblowout 2h ago
With it being an open world game, the options are huge. With something like uncharted he’s only gonna go in that fridge once. So it’s easy to have him grab that one beer. With open world you will be going into that fridge countless times for different things. It’s easier to have just appear in his hand than to specifically animate each object in the fridge.
→ More replies (7)0
u/raichulolz 2h ago
meaning that the fridge is scripted in sleeping dogs. it has a deterministic set of items + animations. completely differs to GTA 6. most games that have flawless animations are deterministic. even then tbh they are shit compared to rockstar games.
which is why a lot of comparisons in the sub are pointless in comparison to GTA 6. The game is a decade ahead of other games.
From a development perspective. A lot of issues or mishaps that are being pointed out are either design decisions or they're likely gonna be fixed post release because they aren't worthy of wasting time for the release candidate e.g. meaning they probs have bigger fish to fry.

Those two game only have a couple if not just one selected items.
Good bait tho.

I wouldn’t not be surprised if there are chores like that around the house like at camp or beacher’s hope in rdr2.

I hope it's still there for sure. Just another layer of optional roleplay that I would take advantage of.
2
u/TheMustardTigerz 1h ago

Notice how in the first two games the event is scripted , there's no choice to select a drink so they only have to make one animation, and then in GTA there is multiple options to choose from so they either have to make separate animations for each drink choice or they simply make the selection spawn

4
u/SWatt_Officer 1h ago
I asked this in another post but got not reply - why is anyone excited at all about fridge mechanics of all things? I get the idea is for the game to have crazy immersion but how often are players actually going to notice or interact with the fridge? I get the little details can add to a great experience but theres a point where I have to ask... why? Are we going to get a nail clipping minigame? Press a button to tuck ourselves in when we go to sleep? Its a game about driving cars, robbing stores, and shooting cops, why does it need to have this level of focus on items from a fridge you might remember to use like twice?

They don't really care
There is a group of people that love whining about things and being outraged. They literally just jump from big release to big release to complain about stuff. They literally watch YouTubers whose whole schtick is complaining.
Before GTA VI comes out, you will find them whining about wolverine. After GTA comes out you will find them whining about fable. It's a never ending cycle.
I've been watching this happen for over a decade. It happened with RDR2 too.

1

I think what they could have done(besides fridge door obscuring the view which is a good idea too) is have the player make the selection before opening the fridge. Whatever player selects will appear in the fridge when he opens to grab it.
Still not a deal breaker tho
1
u/MassiveLegendHere169 2h ago
If they were gonna do that they could at least have a cinematic camera angle behind the door when he pulls it out to hide the jank animation

There's a section of the Internet that kinda got obsessed with the horse balls in red dead 2... they think realistic details are the only factor that defines quality in gaming. Also, just think that GTA 6 has been in our culture so long that there's subcultures built around not liking it.

Funny that the quality on the sleeping dogs part of the clip is super shitty when he picks up the cans then clears up immediately after that. Guess they were trying to hide the can jumping into his hand that it does.
It’s super impressive for a 2012 game. But I just find it funny that they seem to have tried to hide that part of it.

The sleeping dogs and uncharted 4 one you can only pick that beer, it is a settled animation, the gta one you can buy more than one type and choose with the button what to drink while the fridge is open, it is impossible for it to be already there and smoothly picked up naturally
