Feedback:Game updates/20260901
wiki.guildwars.comSkill updates
- Mirage Cloak: Adjust additional block chance to 4..10 (so that Earth investment is required) and fixed a bug where damage from enchantment removal was getting improperly multiplied.
- Focused Shot: Removed errant cast time.
- Soul Twisting (PvP): Fix typos in in-game description.
- Animate Flesh Golem: Pull the (somehow) living Vabbian peasant from the corpse pool.
- Symbols of Inspiration: Reduce recharge from 15 to 10 and increase duration from 1..31 to 6..40. (This change was in the original update notes, but the game data wasn't properly updated.)
- Mistrust: Fix bug where original target was being treated as an AoE target.
- Overload: Fix bug where original target was being treated as an AoE target.

Spear of lightning bugged
The description states that this attack now hits all foes between you and your target.
The damage seems to be the basic spear damage, the additional from the skill is not applied. Anthem of flame only applies on last target hit. The foes inbetween are never critically hit.
Unlike barrage, no extra adrenaline is generated per target it.

Devil's Advocate
I've seen a ton of posts about the new update and the selling of the infinite Ident/salvage kits being bad along with the reforged coin.
I don't get it. Prior to this update I saw tons of people literally say how they'd pay for infinite lots cause it's just a straight QoL not having to worry about the kits breaking.
I hear a bunch of people raising the concern of " it ruins the economy." So what? The economy has been in outright shambles with the amount of bot farming that takes place. The game isn't about the economy, it's about running around with friends or randos, smashing monsters, saving the world, and the biggest thing I think people forget, having fun.
Not everyone can afford the time or in game money to get the consets consistently themselves. They take a lot of work to get yourself. Making them more available only helps players. If you don't want to make the game easier, don't use them. But stop hating on people that enjoy the easier time.
Now the most controversy I've seen surrounding this is Pre-Searing.
I see so many people complaining about Pre being this time capsule that needs to be absolutely preserved. That no changes should happen to it and that making it easier in any way is an insult and that once again, they ruin "The Economy"
People complain about charr kits being made irrelevant. That isn't that case either. Charr kits still are a challenge to get and still remain for anyone who doesn't want to get the new salvage/Ident kits. But now players who either couldn't get one themselves due to lack of time or skill can now enjoy the benefits of runes without having to worry about collecting a ton of play in pre.
And all I can think is, "When did preserving the Capitalistic economy in pre become more important than people being able to have fun? Maybe actually be able to get a title they may have thought was out of reach of their abilities or time?"
What part of other people running around in their own instances; away from other players, pisses people off so much?
"Oh they can get things easier than I had them!"
"Oh, those consets cost a ton/require a ton of work so it invalidates the work I put in!"
"Oh, I'm losing money cause I can't sell as many consets cause people can get them for free!"
So. Fucking. What??
If your enjoyment of the game comes from policing other players, trying to gatekeep high end things, or trying to force things to stay the same for the sake of a profit, you really need to rethink your ideals. If you don't like things being easier, don't use the accessibility items provided.

Mobile Toilet break farm
Like the title, tell me your toilet break farms 😂. I’m doing 2/3 raptor farms as 55hp mo/me and I’m done, the lights go out automatically….
Curious about the speedclear people that have a long s(h)it on the toilet and doing some nice content.

Missing Dwarf at Ice Caves
If i had an ecto every time this happens, i'd have two ectos... which isn't a lot, but funny that it happened twice. 😅

What is the most difficult/dangerous thing you've completed on your Dhuum character?
What is the hardest or most dangerous thing you've done on your Dhuum character?
For me. I think it's Hell's Precipice HM (no cons) so far.
That, or vanquishing some of the areas in Factions....

Reintroduce everlasting henchmen tonics
Given whatever contest miniatures were reintroduced previously, why not reintroducing these consumables?
Make them untradable if you wish, most of them are on banned accounts anyways...

Fashion Wars - Round 2!
Hey folks,
The next round of fashion wars is live on the GWR website. This time its autumn themed!
This time around, there won't be a top 3 featured, to help with bias. Votes will also be hidden until the round ends and the winner is revealed, and for your vote to count, you have to be a member of the GWR discord as well. The victor will receive a mystery prize, but I promise you, its good!
Is this a 'ploy' to get more people involved with our community? Of course! Because we believe that getting more like-minded individuals who are able to play together is a good thing, so much so that many in the leadership are donating high-value items and materials to encourage people to participate.
I look forward to meeting you in the discord, and seeing your submission on the site!

Legionnaire Summoning Crystal Stacked
So I spent my proofs on a summoning crystal with the intention of dropping it into storage for another character. I already had one and now they're stacked.
How do I split the stack to put one in storage?

Warrior Doing GWAMM, advice on a sword build. Warrior
I've used 100b for awhile and wanted to know if it's possible to use Seven Weapon Stance for Swords instead of Hammer and Scythe. Kinda tired of using flail as an IAS and I'm out of alcohol for Drunken Master.
Mostly just something to do for GWAMM really.

What are things worth?
I just came back after 20 years and I am wondering, how do I know what things are worth?
For example I have like 50 minipets.
But also if a weapon drops, how do I determine the worth?

Professions post-patch
Hi! I’m looking to pick up the game again. How are the professions looking? Is warrior on par with Dervish again? Are paragons more playable?

Hide Player Names and Keyboard Camera Controls?
Hey everyone! Playing GW again for the first time since high-school. I’m having a great time so far and I have a couple of questions.
Is there anyway to hide the player names in town? I’d prefer to toggle them on and off when needed. The screen can be pretty cluttered with all the names on screen.
Is there anyway to bind camera movement and zoom to keyboard keys? Playing this game with a trackpad is doable but really cumbersome at times. Binding the camera to the arrow keys and shift + and - for zoom would be what I’m hoping for.
Thanks! Hope to see you all in Tyria.

One Gem to rule them all
I was thinking that with gw3 on the horizon and 1 and 2 in play maybe Anet might consider unification of the purchasable unit that could possibly govern all of the games for in game products purchased though the in game stores.
Respectively gems currently are used as that currency in gw2, but not in gw1, only cash. I feel like adding gw1 along with eventually gw3 will make all purchases of gems streamline those purchases. If a system was included that makes it possible not only to buy gems directly in game but allows you to apply your gems to the item without going out of the game to receive and acquire the item, it would be more friendly experience overall. Would this not be possible for steam accounts? I don’t have a gw or gw2 account though steam so I do not know.
Also gems purchased in any game would be allowed to make a purchase across every platform as obviously linking your accounts is a thing. Possibly even including the in game mail system gw2 currently enjoys as the direct means for receiving purchased item from this kind of system here in gw1. Going away from activation of codes to apply those purchases.

GW1 with DLLS5
Did anyone managed to run DLLS5 on GW1? I would love to see some video of how it works.
EDIT: I’m not saying I want to use it, I’m just curious of how the game could look with different lightning.

Hear me out
In old school d&d elves and dwarves were classes.
In GW2 they can't add more species because of the trouble of fitting 14 years of new skins into new bodies.
You know in what game each class has its own exclusive armor? Guild Wars 1.
Also we have classes locked behind expansions, therefore I think the tech is already there to add new playable species as their own classes in GW1 with even less restrictions than in GW3 (where only humanoid shapes are going to be playable)

The game is getting power crept
Most of the game was not hard, but recently it's gotten even easier. I just cleared Bogroot Growths HM with this:

I have extensive experience with the dungeon, and know which mobs could potentially score kills, which can overaggro, and how hard I can push my builds before I start taking deaths. This isn't a difficult dungeon, and I would fully expect a strong team to clear easily. Still, I was not expecting to clear this easily.
In this run had a literal three bar push skills (four if you count "Fall Back!"), and three more defensive skills (Prot Spirit, Aegis, "Stand Your Ground!"). I didn't use any special aggro techniques, Leeroyed into all the mobs that would normally threaten deaths, and still cleared easily. At this point I suspect I could've gone without the Monk enchantments or SYG too, that's how little damage I was taking. I had one death going into Zhimm Mons, so I tried unga bunga'ing into him just to see if his mob can score kills (they normally can, especially if Spirit Rift pops on the heroes). I did indeed take deaths, but didn't wipe, even with the boss getting off Spirit Rift (I saw it being cast and didn't flag away).
I suppose when the devs buff skills I was already using, power creep is inevitable, but still. I wonder what people think about this.
(Don't copy my build by the way, it's not good.)
