Discussion What is your favourite ways to advertise your game?
Kinda looking for some advice. What is your best, low budget ways to promote your game? Or, maybe, your weirdest, yet effective methods?

Out of Sorts is a typing roguelite set in a letterpress print shop. There is no word list. You get a type case holding a finite count of every letter, twelve E and three Q, and typing a word physically spends those metal sorts out of the case.
So a run is about letter economy rather than speed. Spending your last E is a real loss, and the set of words you can still make narrows as you go.
The name is a printer's phrase. Being out of sorts meant the compositor had run out of a letter and could not set the line.
It's free and plays in the browser.
Code and art are AI generated. That is disclosed on the page.

This is a free in-browser MOBA I've been developing since last October. I'm very proud of how far it's come, though there's a long way to go to really get it into a state I'm totally happy with.
You can check the game out at https://www.mercenariesoftezigdal.com/ if you'd like to give it a look.

Hello! Im a beginner solo dev or at least aspiring to become one, i am currently learning C++ language to use Unreal engine, but I get easily overwhelmed, I really like dev and I’ve been doing some simple projects here and there, but I don’t know if I have the skill to pursue it.
Now with that being said
I designed a ttrpg way back from scratch and Ive been trying to dev a zombie survival game
And had an idea to combine the two
Id love opinions about this should I continue or like give it up?
I have no dev friends or anything I don’t know nobody that is a dev in my life so it gets pretty lonely quickly.
Im still learning and im passionate about learning, thats not the problem, the problem is that I don’t really have nobody to talk to about this, discuss ideas, or just yap with
But its okay this is just a yapping vent bc I really want to become a solo indie game dev in the future and bring my ideas to life
So if you have any recommendations they are fully acceptable here, I am whiling to learn and grow

Hey, hey! A while ago I made a game called Reaction and since then I've been annoying people to go and try it out. Now I've made a version which you can play online, like the Flash games of yesteryear.
So what is exactly? Well, it's a physics-puzzler where geometry falls from the sky and you guide it with your paddle towards the evacuation shafts on each side before the play area inevitably spills and it's game over. There's single player and local multiplayer, so maybe give it a go! 🕹🎮

I have wanted to publicly share a game on Steam since I was a kid. Three Kingdoms Reimagined now has an official page, and seeing it there with a real trailer and store listing still feels a little unreal.
The game is a sandbox campaign where you can begin with one warband and a custom character while more than 100 warlords pursue their own plans. Battles are real time, with officers, formations, morale, and duels, but the bigger goal is making those battles matter afterward. Victories, defeats, and personal clashes feed back into officer relationships, reputations, rivalries, and later stories.
The hardest development problem has not been knowing how I want it to play. It has been taking the version that makes perfect sense in my head and communicating it clearly to someone who did not build it.
The Steam page is here:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/5112140/
I have also uploaded a free Windows demo for Valve review and registered for the October 2026 Steam Next Fest. I keep refreshing the backend even though I know that will not make the review move faster.
The trailer attached here is the clearest overview I have made so far. Reaching this point feels less like finishing something and more like finally letting other people see the project I have been quietly obsessed with.

Finally found time to implement it in our game BFS which is a multiplayer voxel sandbox. Brown boat is made of wood, Red is made of metal.
Still not entirely convinced on how the fluids are rendered. We are happy to hear your suggestions.
The game is a big sandbox where you can design friend slop games with your friends

Over Eons is an open world space game in which you can travel through space and time creating and populating worlds.
Every star, galaxy and planet seen in the game can be visited and explored in full with no loading screens or barriers.

Background: backend C#/.NET, almost 18 years of professional experience, 24 with C# if we count playing around.
Tbh, JavaScript was always the language I used when I had to, never one I actually knew. So I picked the smallest game I could realistically ship end-to-end and forced myself to build it properly.
So I made a one-tap arcade flyer called Sunbird (yep, a Flappy Bird clone). HTML5 canvas, no engine, no framework, wrapped in Capacitor for iOS and Android.
Why this project specifically:
A canvas game loop punishes sloppy JS immediately. At 60fps you feel every stray allocation and every lazy closure.
No engine meant writing physics, collision, the state machine, persistence and audio myself. All sound is synthesized with Web Audio oscillators.
I wanted to hold the same line I hold at work: SOLID, DRY, SoC, YAGNi. Harder without a compiler yelling at you.
Shipping to two stores dragged me through the unglamorous parts: platform abstraction, versioned save migration, CI with a release gate, headless tests.
Two things I'd tell past me:
Determinism isn't free. Everyone gets the same daily course from a seed. I shipped a bug where obstacle gaps were generated relative to viewport height, so different devices got different courses - which quietly destroys the point of a shared leaderboard. Fixed by anchoring gaps to the ground with fixed offsets.
A headless autopilot that plays your game beats manual testing. jsdom plus a sim that flies the course caught regressions I'd never have found by hand.
It's live if anyone wants to poke at it: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sunbird.game
Feedback I'd actually find useful:
Does the tap feel right on your device, or is there input lag?
Is the difficulty curve readable in the first three runs, or does it just feel unfair?
Anything in the code-adjacent parts you'd have done differently - Capacitor bridge, save migration, the audio approach?
Not looking for installs, looking for people to tell me where it's weak.

Shared this in the gamescom subreddit but thought it would be cool to share here too, our indie game was included in this wrapup article of top games showcased at gamescom alongside some AAA titles. For a smaller team in the Indie Games area, getting included in a list like this alongside some of the big AAA games that had massive booths in the main halls is a wild and super gratifying feeling!

Quite clearly the biggest difference (in this level) is the volumetric lights!
From the beginning we tried to get ~80% of our results from lighting only and added the effects later.
Our cutscenes (I will post later) have similar effects but with more bloom and depth of field to give it a more cinematic look. It also has some color grading to get a "Y2K" feel
Done on Unity 6.1 URP. Performance wise, we're optimizing it to get to work on a 2013 GTX 770 laptop that we have at home. If it runs on that, we're _more_ than happy!
Our game is called SHOCKFACE. We're on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4705980/SHOCKFACE/
PS: We recently missed our 27th Aug planned release. So we took the opportunity to polish the game further and maybe market it a little more. If this looks like your jam check it out!
