Trying this Reddit thing again because apparently I’ve decided meeting interesting people through the internet is a perfectly reasonable life choice. 😂

We can make fun of each other, disappear for a day because life got busy without making it awkward, celebrate tiny victories, complain about ridiculous things, and occasionally end up having unexpectedly deep conversations at an unreasonable hour.

Basically, a friendship with good chemistry and questionable levels of chaos. 😂

A little about me:

I’m 35, work in tech, go to the gym, and try not to spend my entire existence staring at a screen. I’m into volleyball, soccer, F1, gaming, travelling, scenic drives, beaches, mountains, cold weather, and anything that gives me a good excuse to get outside.

I’m also very much into thrillers, mysteries, horror, and action when it comes to movies and shows.

And I should probably confess this now:

I’m terrible with music. 😂

I rarely listen to it unless I’m driving, and even then I mostly care whether it has a decent beat.

So if you’re someone who has a playlist for every possible mood, occasion, weather condition, and minor emotional inconvenience, I’m probably going to need some lessons.

I’m pretty laid-back and naturally curious. I like asking random questions, learning how people think, discovering oddly specific interests, and getting into completely unnecessary debates about things that have absolutely no consequences.

I also have no problem double texting.

Or triple texting.

If the conversation is good, I’m not going to suddenly start pretending I’m too cool to reply. 😂

I’m not expecting anyone to be glued to their phone either. Everyone has work, responsibilities, friends, life, and all that annoying adult stuff.

I just appreciate consistency and genuine effort.

I’d much rather build something that naturally becomes part of our everyday lives than have an intense conversation for 48 hours before we both disappear into the Reddit void.

Ideally, this eventually becomes that kind of friendship where something happens and your first thought is:

“I need to tell them this.”

Send a ridiculous meme.

Share a random thought.

Recommend a show.

Drop a completely unnecessary voice note.

Complain about your day.

Start an argument over pineapple on pizza.

Whatever.

Does anyone else ever look at their life and realize they aren't really sure where they fit into it anymore?

I'm married, a dad of four, work in IT, and from the outside I'm probably doing exactly what I'm supposed to be doing.

But somewhere along the way, I think I lost track of myself.

I know what everyone else needs from me. I know the responsibilities, the routines, the things that have to get done.

What I don't know lately is what I actually enjoy.

What makes me excited? What do I want to talk about for hours? What hobbies are actually mine instead of things I used to enjoy? Hell, I'm not even sure what version of myself I'd introduce if someone asked me who I am beyond "husband, dad, and guy who works in IT."

So I'm trying something different.

I'm looking for some new friendships and conversations with people who don't already have a preconceived idea of who I'm supposed to be.

Someone to talk about random nonsense with.

Someone who can introduce me to a new interest or remind me that it's okay to have interests that serve absolutely no practical purpose.

I like being outdoors, hiking, camping, fishing, road trips, music, sarcasm, stupid humor, and conversations that somehow start with "random question..." and end up lasting two hours.

But I'm also hoping to discover some new things along the way.

Maybe I need a new hobby. Maybe I need to get out of my comfort zone. Maybe I just need people around me who remind me that I'm still a person underneath all the responsibilities.

I'm not looking for someone to fix me.

Just someone willing to talk, laugh, share their weird interests, and maybe help me remember that there's more to life than checking things off a list.

In a bit of a transition phase (in more ways than one) and have really been enjoying embracing minimalism and being able to spend the time on simpler focuses. Would absolutely adore finding someone to share the little daily joys with and learn about your own obsessions!
