Discussion I hope this game doesn't get buried by all the other the other character action games coming out
I'll be playing it because I love the series, but if you're not familiar with it there's so many other choices as well. Do you think it'll do well?

Question Is this like Nioh 2 at all?
I’ve never played an Onimusha game but this one looks very intriguing to me. I love Nioh 2 Nioh 3 and all the souls likes…. I’m guessing I’m going to like it😃 but I am curious if this feels like Nioh when played? If you had to compare combat to another game, what would it be?

Question Is the combat expressive and free flowing with a high-skill ceiling or more restricted and basic?
Never tried an Onimusha game before. Does the combat allow you to approach in many different ways and allow for decent player expression? Or are there specific options you have to pick to be efficient?
For instance, if boss does move X, does move X have many kinds of counter play? Or do you always have to parry in a specific way against move X, always dodge against move Y etc?
Edit: Referring to Way of the Sword here.

Question Does Onimusha have a lot of Replayability?
So a bit of a dumb question, but I’m thinking of picking up Way of the Sword because it looks phenomenal. This will however be my first Onimusha game (I’ll more than likely play the others later on too) and I was just curious if the Onimusha games have some decent replay value.
I feel as if Capcom likes to design their games with replayability in mind, like with the RE series offering different game modes, unlockable weapons/cosmetics, ect.
Does Onimusha offer anything along these lines to keep players engaged? Or has Capcom alluded to any post launch plans for Way of the Sword?

Question Onimusha way of the sword Primium?
Is it worth it? Seeing different costumes etc. I don’t really care for any of that. If it comes with swords or other elements which will be worth it, I go for it.
I know it has t came out, but maybe people know more than me.
Thanks

Question Is Way of the Sword a Souls like game
To be clear I'm not talking about having parry mechanics. I've played the demo so I generally know how the game plays. I'm mostly talking about difficulty. It's hard for me to gauge when I see previews for games like this because it seems like most of the time they are trying to go for the brutal difficulty of souls games.
So is it that or is this more of a traditional action game where as long as you are somewhat okay at dodging and parrying you'll be perfectly fine? Thanks in advance.

Question Series Noob here. What's the point of doing defensive maneuvers against fodder enemies like this instead of just striking them down with basic slashes?

Discussion Onimusha Has a Climb and it's Exciting!
Okay party people, I saw the FightinCowboy review last night (known for his soulslike reviews) and he confirmed kinda exactly what I wanted. The game starts like the demo, slower and easier, with a steady rise until the end. I just recently played the original Onimusha and it had the same thing, I think it fits the game so well.
Even in my own experience of playing through the demo multiple times, I think about how I struggled on Ganryu and Byakue the first time and now I fight them and it feels cinematic and seamless. Hearing the full game has that climb, where you master the blade like the real Mushashi did feels very cool.
He even said that some of the final bosses are up there with the best of the Soulslikes (despite the game NOT being one) which excites me because by the time you get to the end, you'll have mastered your sword so really the difficulty is just increasing with your skill.
I know a lot of people had reservations about the difficulty, some people thought it was fine, some people wanted it to be soulslike, so it's nice that it's in the middle (I was fine with the demo difficulty, just wanted more aggression which we got in the extended Gamescom one).
What's everyone most excited for in the full game? I just got the hang of chained Issen last night and can't wait to use it in the full game (plus whatever else we get), also just can't wait to play the real thing because the combat looks so cool and feels so good.

Discussion Health and stamina bars confusion
Hi legends, I am extremely hyped for this game and cannot wait to play it! The only extremely minor thing I have that I want to mention (not really even a complaint, just a funny little thing) is that the health bar of enemies is yellow, and stamina red. Obviously, my brain has been trained for years from other games that health is red :D When playing the demo, I cannot even remember how many times I mixed up the two - when fighting the secret boss for the first time and getting his stamina low quite quickly, I was like wow, this is not even that hard, he is almost dead - then I realised :D Anyone else being confused? I am sure we will adjust quite quickly, but I thought it was funny.

Discussion Out of all the games coming out in September, what made you pick onimusha?
This is a question for those of you who had to choose. Obviously some people will just buy several
I think the combat seems like something genuinely special. I play a lot of action games and the animations in this one give it a real fluid and cinematic feel.
What's your reasoning?

Discussion Capcom’s Signature Comebacks
I hope Musashi has A variety of Comebacks like Dante and Leon. Some we’ve already heard in the Demo, like “I Hope YOU Do!!” And then there were 3-4 in the Byakuya Fight as well. Its so cool, your character taunting and aura farming in the middle of tough situations. I think thats one of the things that make these characters GOATed. What do you think?

Collections Onimusha Sword Collection
Around the release of Onimusha 3 there was a series of mini-weapons that were released in Japan. Thanks to the early days of Ebay I was able to get ahold of a few and they have been proudly displayed in my collection ever since. I've been waiting 20 years for a new Onimusha and I'm looking forward to Way of the Sword releasing this week!
