I'm looking for a bookshelf or a nightstand as well if someone has one they don't want . Either way I need these books gone to use my space. Lots of nice hardbacks. Wheel of time, Terry brooks, lots of Dresden files paperbacks, ect.

I previously was evicted from Solaire 8200 earlier this year after falling on hard times. I’m back up now and really really wanna move back. The amenities were great, neighbors etc. I know it is generally not allowed but there is a new PM there, etc. has anyone had success releasing at a building they’ve previously been evicted at?? I’m able to verify 5x the rent now, does that make a difference?

Rodents. Roaches. You call them; they "exterminate" (put on sticky tabs and do nothing to address the entry points or long term solutions). Neighbors move out and you get an influx of all the creatures. You call them again, rinse and repeat. This is most of the buildings.

Don't move here ya'll.

(They're also boosting the reviews on google reviews by having people give five stars for tours and literal 30 minute interactions with customer service people, while most of the community who lives in these buildings don't say anything because this is all they can afford and they are scared of retaliation, or just think "what's the point?")

The maintenance people are dope though, and they try their best I think??

Looking to move to the area and this apartment building seems to be in an ideal location. Anyone live here and enjoy it ? Are there roaches even when you’re clean ? Other issues with heating or AC ?

My son has been going to the same daycare program for a few years now. He moved up to the Preschool program last year but it’s not exactly what we want for him and concerned about how ready he woo be for kindergarten next year. It’s a bind finding a new spot right now, but if anyone has any good recommendations that would be great.

Anyone who just heard random fireworks (11:15pm) they were set off across the street from me (near Wayne and flower.) I don’t know who or why, but they seemed to have retreated back into their apartment building as the intensity may have been more than they expected.

My husband and I are looking at houses in the Silver Spring area and want to know personal experiences from parents at Highland View Elementary. It’s so hard to just go based off the ratings!

Update: thank you to everyone who has answered! This helps so much. Now, same neighborhood but a new situation - New Hampshire Estates Elementary to Oak View Elementary. Has anyone had experience with these?

Our 6yo daughter is in need of a haircut and we would to hear where you’ve had good (or not!) experiences around here.

We would prefer a place without the distractions (TV, novelty seats, etc.) that are offered at a lot of the places for younger kids, and are looking for someone who can cut longer hair (below shoulders) with layers.

I know that this is not a new topic in this Reddit community. I’m curious if anyone has successfully has contacted a city or county official about this? I’ve reached out to my Councilmember and non emergency police to request enforcement of the decibel level without any success.

Just to say, I have no problem with religion, freedom of speech and people expressing themselves, but these groups are regularly expressing themselves with microphones above the legal decibel levels. 

Update: Here is the law and procedures for filing a noise complaint. I plan on reporting to 311 and filing a Noise Complaint every time I encounter someone using a microphone above the legal decibel limit. I encourage you to do the same.

Hello everyone!! 👋🏽

My fiancé and I are planning to relocate to Silver Spring from Nashville toward the end of January. We’re both originally from Mississippi and are looking for a 2 bed/2 bath apartment, preferably near Metro or within a 3–5 mile radius.

Our budget is $3,000/month max, and we’d really love a balcony or patio since we have two cats. I’m okay with carpet in the bedrooms, but would prefer hard flooring throughout the rest of the apartment. In-unit laundry and parking would also be a plus!

One thing I’ve noticed while researching is that pest/rodent complaints seem to come up frequently across several apartment communities. I understand every property will have some negative reviews, but seeing similar complaints at multiple places has definitely made me cautious. 😭
