I’m looking to buy a new laptop and would appreciate some advice.
My main use cases will be:
YouTube work, especially for my cricket channel
Video editing (Premiere Pro/DaVinci Resolve)
Live streaming/streaming sports content
OBS and screen recording
Photoshop/Canva and basic graphics
Lots of Chrome tabs and research
MS Office and regular work
Some light gaming occasionally
Want the laptop to last at least 4–5 years
My budget is around ₹60,000–₹90,000, but I can stretch a little if the upgrade is genuinely worth it.
The problem is that whatever I feel is suitable for my requirements seems to be out of my budget. Laptop prices also seem quite high/expensive right now, so I’m confused about what I should do.
Should I:
Compromise on the specifications?
Wait for prices/sales to improve?
Buy an older-generation model?
Consider a used/refurbished laptop?
Increase my budget and invest in something that will last 4–5 years
For my usage, should I prioritize:
A powerful CPU with integrated graphics,
An RTX 4050/other dedicated GPU, or
Better display, build quality and battery life?
How important is a dedicated GPU for OBS streaming, video editing and encoding? Would an RTX 4050 make a noticeable difference for my use, or would a good integrated-graphics laptop be enough?
Also, are there any specific Lenovo/HP/Dell/ASUS models you would recommend at current Indian prices?
Basically, I’m trying to figure out what is the smartest way to buy a laptop right now without overspending, while still getting something capable enough for YouTube, editing and streaming.
Would really appreciate recommendations from people who have actually used these laptops for YouTube, editing and streaming.
