General Question Is ERS good?
I just got admitted to ERS (emerging research scholars) is it worth doing it, or is it just a bunch of bologna?

I’m mailing my friend a care package, but he keeps talking about how I’ll need to send him a QR code from my email when it gets there???
I looked into it and, from what I found, the TTU mailing system will contact HIM with a code (not me), but he is insistent that they will reach out to me? Not sure how they’d do that, TTU doesn’t have my phone number or email.
I have the shipping label printed with his name and dorm mailing address that he sent me. I’m 99% sure I’m right, but that 1% is still bugging me. Is there anything else I need to do to ensure he gets his package? It’s rather expensive, so I don’t want it getting shipped back or given to someone else somehow.
I know this is a dumb post but if anyone could confirm or clarify for me, that would be helpful lol

I’m currently in Calc 1 as a freshman majoring in Mechanical Engineering and honestly I was looking forward to it because back where I’m from over my 4 years in high school and especially my last my math teachers honestly sucked. But now that I’m in tech I feel behind I don’t understand what I’m being taught and I feel like I’m just writing down what he’s writing on the board while not understanding a thing. Maybe I just have a bad foundation but I also really didn’t want to (in my eyes) waste a year in college algebra or some bridge course all because of where I came from. I feel like I could possibly and will possibly have to self teach myself outside of this class which are 110 minute periods on Tuesday and Thursdays which would be slightly manageable but at that point I feel like taking calc online would make more sense schedule wise and work load wise. Please any advice or help would well help.

So i feel im one of the last who hasn’t gotten their refund yet. Even though they process the on TTh, i called and the person stated no refunds would be processed today. That doesn’t seem fair.
Anyway. Am I the only one? I have expenses that are piling up

Can I park in the parking lot near the Greek life neighborhood without a pass? I rode my bike to and from campus but I was curious if I could park there every now and then

Does anyone else feel like Texas Tech's websites are difficult to navigate with information everywhere?
I am a graduate student and the UX/UI of Texas Tech's websites are so clonky and not friendly to the users. On top of that, the webpages for the university often lead to a 404 error and not found.
How are fellow students dealing with this?

So I know a lot of people have probably heard of what’s going on with going to Techs game now (and probably said something on here already).
It’s a system where students have to collect these “points” so they can attend football games. How you collect these points are by going to smaller games (volleyball, basketball, etc) and once you collect, these points, you can “ bid a reservation” to go to one of the games.
How is everyone feeling about this “new rule” and does anyone know how many points you need to get a spot at the football games?
(Note: for how the point system works I could be wrong, but this is all from what I am hearing and reading please do correct me if I am wrong so I can fix this post)

Okay I’m genuinely asking: how do people actually make friends in college? I’m writing this for my cousin because I’m worried she doesn’t really have friends or a group. I don’t even go to Tech I go to another school lol. I was just lucky enough to make a friend during orientation immediately, and that friendship led to more friends and eventually a whole friend group.
But seriously how does someone make genuine friends without it feeling one way, artificial, or surface level? My cousin is a junior, an introvert, and not really into parties but she’s genuinely a really cool person. I know she would get along with regular down to earth people not necessarily the sorority or super preppy type if that makes sense.
How can she meet people and build real friendships without relying on parties? Since she’s already a junior, it feels like everyone has their established friends and groups which makes it harder to get close to people. I really just want her to find cool genuine people she can become close with. lose with. How someone tell me how?

If I just completed my application for graduation, and it’s says 4.0 for gpa, does that mean I will graduate summa cum laude? Even if my final grades from this last semester haven’t been completed yet?
