Political Question Shouldn't Democrats TRY having a "leftist" presidential candidate?

Everyone was shocked in 2016 and in 2024 but it's not like Trump's Democrat challenger was the direct opposite of him or much better. I just feel like there is no way to gauge where voters truly are if you have these senile racists/war hungry corrupt politicians pitted against each other.

Why won't Democrats try having a candidate that will bring universal healthcare so that a fascist like Trump can try spinning why it is a bad thing? The 2016 and 2024 candidates had no policy suggestions besides "imagine if Trump was your president. Waaazzyy wazooo!"

Political Question Why do Republicans hate democracy?

They don't want mail in voting and they don't want voting in person. Why else would they be closing polling stations and stopping mail in voting? If the loved democracy would be making voting easier so all Americans could vote instead of none of them.

Political Question Right wing unhinged?

The more i venture into the conservative right wing cesspool the more disconnected they seem? How are they genuinely talking about nuking another country and they somehow say like it is sipping tea or something. Why and what percentage of Americans would you say agree to nuclear option? is there even going back after you open that box?

Political Question Why would any working class Americans identify with the Republican party?

I notice when I make fun of republican politicians, a lot of working class people get personally offended. Why do they identify so much with a party leadership that hates them? Is it because the GOP is good at selling bullshit? Rh y can't govern but they run convincing campaigns. Is it exhausting being a Republican voter trying to defend such shitty policies for the middle class?

Political Question Did adults really think they were doing right by their children/grandchildren when they voted for Trump? Or do they just not care about them?

Cause I hear so many older people say they want their children to do well and have an easier life but then yknow.. they do stuff like that. Kinda seems like an actions speak louder than words sort of situation.

Sure seems that way doesn’t it?

Political Question Are there genuinely still people that support Israel?

Upvotes

I feel Israel's involvement and influence in US politics is more of a recent insight.

With everything that's happening in Palestine and the amount of information that's come out over these last few years, I’m curious about people who still strongly support Israel and what the reasons are.

EDIT: "I support Israel" is not a reason btw 😂😂😂.

EDIT: By "recent" I'm specifically referring to the US. Also I feel like Israel's involvement and actions have not ever been in the mainstream media this much ever. For a lot of people I've spoken to this is a recent revelation. But I understand that others have known about this.

I'm an undocumented migrant in the US now.

I pay 4k for tax every year and have no criminal record. I speak three languages with a bachelor degree.

I'm here because I don't want to help demons or get killed for refusing them.

Political Question What Constitutes the 'Proof' of Trump's Pedophilia that Republicans Pretend to Want to Finally Ditch Him?

As it stands, we have decades of his own actions, statements, relationships, testimony, him openly putting people in positions of power for helping distance him from the Epstein situation, his continued masking of the documents, and enough evidence for anyone to believe beyond any reasonable doubt that Trump was heavily involved in a ring focused on the sex trafficking of minors either as a client, a co-conspirator, or both. All the while, we have people constantly saying they need 'proof'.

But the thing about proof is that it's a mathematical concept. We don't prove past occurrences. That's why I'm the court of law, they say, "Beyond a reasonable doubt..." Which, again, is very doable at any given time.

Even if videos were produced today from some archive of him actively inside a child, that wouldn't constitute 'proof'. It would be written off in any number of ways as they have the other insurmountable evidence so I ask you, what is the proof you pretend to want?

Political Question Should a law be passed to stop the renaming of certain area's in the U.S?

During the Biden administration multiple military bases had their names changed by an executive order. Trump rescinded that order to return the bases to their original names. Now Trump has renamed the "Gulf of Mexico" to the "Gulf of America" and the American side of "Lake Ontario" to "Lake America". Do you think a law should be passed that prohibits a president from changing the name of any federal owned land without a 2/3 approval from Congress?

Political Question 2nd Amendment folks what’s the excuse?

If I remember correctly, the 2nd Amendment was written to protect the people against a tyrannical government. This is also the excuse that most 2nd amendment supporters use when defending it. The U.S. government is actively covering up the most vile and disgusting human trafficking ring of all time and using our tax dollars to fund a genocide in the Middle East and without congressional approval, all while the quality of life domestically is declining.

Where’s the line? I’m not trying to suggest anything comes of this, but if defending the people against a tyrannical government was really so important to these 2nd amendment defenders wouldn’t we have seen that by now? But instead they’re the ones supporting the administration that’s doing this.

Political Question Why is Trump building a Ballroom instead of spending that money on the Iran War?

Trump clearly isn't winning against Iran. They said the economic sanctions were enough to crush Iran, but they're back to bombing again.

General Question I'm sorry, I don't know if this is racist, i'm european, but why are thousands of Black Americans on Instagram posting videos of themselves eating pineapple pieces from jars coloured with Kool-Aid?

Upvotes

Basically, my entire Instagram feed is full of obese or weird Black people eating fluorescent pink or blue pineapple pieces as if they were eating the best caviar in the world, usually in front of cars or stores. Then they eat disgusting pastel-blue or yellow chicken covered in sweet sprinkles, and hamburgers made with fluorescent-red sweets that look like doughnuts or cinnamon rolls with sauces that remember coloured toothpaste. Obviously, nobody in the comments explains what they're doing; they just attack them with racial slurs. Do you have any idea why they eat this food? Is it a trend among African Americans? Is it a social-media trend or a challenge? I don't understand.

Political Question Why don’t adults seem to care about the morals of the leaders we place into office and allow to influence our children?

Now I know, before anyone says it, someone’s gonna come in here and say “well my kids don’t even know who the president is,” or “my kids are just kids, they play outside.” Which I find very ridiculous because if your kids have friends or are going to school outside your house, they are definitely hearing about politics and Trump.

I know I’ve heard many instances of young boys telling girls ever since Trump got elected that it’s “your body, my choice.” And now everywhere online, all over this website even, men are getting more and more radicalized.

But it’s not just the gender thing, it’s everything. Like… really and truly you’re okay with your kid thinking and believing it’s okay to act like Trump?

But like why don’t yall care? I know some do but seems like so many don’t.

General Question I don’t understand non binary people?

I have no problem understanding transgenders and consider myself an ally cause my friend is one. I can realistically conceive of wanting to be the opposite gender and how much it must make them suffer to not be that.

I don’t understand wanting to not have a gender in the first place. What does that even feel like? to not have a gender? It honestly seem performative like they just want attention or to feel special. And they want people to use special pronouns for them it’s ridiculous. trans women you can just call them she/her, with nbs you have to remember to always call them they like their some kind of hive mind lmfao bs
