Amazing songs happen, the video comes out and you find out that the frontman's (frontperson's?) dancing is a strange sort of lurching that looks like the before example of a late night tv offering of a video dance course. Example: Midnight Oil - Beds Are Burning

Does anyone else have examples of this? Who is the worst offender?

You know what I mean, right? When there's some very noticeable change toward the end of the song where everything just gets much more awesome. Maybe the song goes double-time. Or maybe it goes from a soft acoustic song to a rocking distorted rock song. Or maybe it changes styles in some way that is both surprising and awesome. There has to be a name for this, right? Any ideas?

I’m working on an early-stage music app concept called MoodShift.

The idea is simple:

You tell MoodShift how you feel now, how you want to feel, and how much time you have.

MoodShift would then create a guided music journey designed to gradually move you toward that desired mood.

Before we build too much, we want feedback from actual music listeners.

We’re trying to learn:

• How people currently use music to affect their mood

• Whether existing music apps handle this well

• What features people would actually care about

• How long people would want a MoodShift session to last

• Whether people would try an early beta

• Whether people would pay for something like this
