Mobile Web [Chrome] Erroneous shadowban broke a 600-day streak (System needs a "streak pause" during false positives)

I am posting this to report a critical flaw in how Reddit's automated moderation system interacts with the Daily Streak achievements feature.

My account was recently shadowbanned by mistake. After submitting an appeal, Reddit Admins reviewed the case, confirmed it was a false positive, and fully restored my account.

However, because my account was restricted during the shadowban period, the system registered it as inactivity and completely reset my 600-day streak.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Maintain a high-tier daily streak (e.g., 600 days).
  2. Get flagged mistakenly by the automated anti-spam filter (shadowban).
  3. Wait for the Admin appeal process to resolve.
  4. Log back into the restored account.

Expected result: The achievement streak should be paused, frozen, or retroactively restored to its pre-ban state once the Admin team confirms the ban was an error.

Actual result: The streak is permanently broken and wiped back to zero, penalizing users for a system-side mistake.

While I understand support agents cannot manually edit database numbers, this is a glaring product oversight. False positive bans should not destroy years of legitimate user engagement. Please consider implementing a "streak freeze" mechanic during active appeal windows.

Thank you.

People recommended to repost here.

Yes it was a sfw community. I checked the progress on the achievement. It did update but on sunday it started again on 1 instead of continuing with 533.

Is there chance of recovery or is it just lost.

Basically random communities appear in my feed, I say I don't want to see them anymore, they disappear. I refresh my feed and they're all back again. It's annoying.

iOS [iOS] My upvotes stay highlighted but don’t seem to count - version 2026.33.0

Desktop Web [Desktop web] Can't schedule post that has an inserted link and post body text

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

The steps I did:

  1. Click the link button 🔗 and pasted article link into it
  2. Insert the little writeup into the post body text
  3. Clicked the clock button to schedule; selected date and time.
  4. Clicked schedule, but in red text it keeps saying "There was an error. Please try again later."

Took out the body text, and as you can see at the end, the post scheduled properly. But, I wanted the body text in it, so I just deleted the entire thing and manually posted it to the community this morning.

I originally had a similar issue like this in May: https://www.reddit.com/r/bugs/comments/1tw11cd/desktop_web_chrome_cant_schedule_posts/

Desktop Web [Desktop Web]Content removed by Reddit but no notification or option to appeal

Thumbnail gallery
0 Upvotes

A post on my account was removed by Reddit and now displays “[Removed by Reddit]” and “Removed by Reddit on account of violating the content policy.”

I did not receive a notification from u/reddit explaining the Content Policy violation or providing an appeal link.

Reddit's appeal guidance says that a Reddit-wide content action can be appealed through the notification from u/reddit or through reddit.com/appeals

However, when I visit reddit.com/appeals while logged into the affected account, Reddit says:

“You cannot submit an appeal. Your account is currently neither suspended nor restricted.”

My account is otherwise functioning normally.

This leaves me with a Reddit content enforcement action but no available mechanism to appeal that action.

Several of my ordinary comments within the affected thread are also displaying “[Removed by Reddit].”

I cannot see messages even though everything is ok with my message settings. This happened after I had a ban dispute with BotBouncer. Everything worked out but now I cannot see new messages while older ones are visible. What can I do?

Desktop Web [Chrome] "Show fewer posts like this" only lasts a short time?

Every day, reddit shows me "suggested" posts from the same several subreddits that I am not interested in. If I select "Show fewer posts like this", it hides that post and claims it won't recommend that subreddit to me anymore. Then it "suggests" that subreddit again with a day to a week. The same several subreddits over and over and over.

I am viewing reddit on a desktop PC with Windows 10 in a Chrome browser.

Android Established account suddenly has Lowest CQS and 8–10 minute sitewide comment rate limit android s24ultra

My established Reddit account has suddenly developed a persistent sitewide rate limit when commenting. I receive “Rate limit exceeded” messages requiring me to wait approximately 480–582 seconds between comments. This occurs during normal use and across different communities. My account is several years old and has approximately 22,000 karma. I have received no suspension, warning, disciplinary action, or restriction notice. I checked reddit.com/appeals while logged into the affected account. Reddit specifically says: “Your account is currently neither suspended nor restricted,” so I cannot submit an appeal. I also checked my Contributor Quality Score and it is currently “Lowest,” despite the established account history and no known disciplinary action. This behavior started suddenly. Please investigate whether my account has been incorrectly assigned a low reputation/CQS or caught by an automated anti-spam/rate-limiting system. Device: Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra OS: Android 16 Reddit app: current Android app Expected result: Normal commenting behavior for an established account. Actual result: Sitewide “Rate limit exceeded” errors requiring approximately 8–10 minutes between comments.

iOS [iOS] - post goes back to the first comment when switching tabs

If i'm reading, lets say, the 27th comment and switch tabs to another app and come back to reddit, reddit brings me back to the very first comment. I lost track of where I was and have to parse through the whole thread to find the comment I was initially reading.

Dev/Admin Responded All Platforms (Chrome, Firefox, Android) - Saved Responses not commenting

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hi;

Just encountered this within the last 2~ days.

In several subreddits that I am a moderator, the saved response reason is not being commented even though I make sure to tell it to notify via comment.

In one sub, about 10% of them are actually commenting the removal reason. In two of the subs, none of them are commenting.

I've had other mods in the team take a look, and they see the removal, they see that it says I added a removal reason, but the saved response is not commenting.

Some of the other mods have been able to remove posts/comments and the removal comment does show up, but they are also experiencing some of the comments not "sticking." It might show up briefly, but a refresh of the page, and it just shows our mod note that the post or comment was removed, but no saved response added to it.

In a similar vein, some of the removed comments are still prompting "approve" or "remove" even though they have been removed.

That is:
1. We select remove.
2. We hit add removal reason.
3. We select a reason, and hit submit.
4. The comment shows as removed, with our little mod note next to it.
5. A refresh of the post goes back to giving the option to approve or remove. If we repeat the whole process, it just repeats.

Please assist, this is greatly affecting our post/comments removals, because our saved responses have links and other info pre-saved to address the removals.
