Hey everyone,
I’m currently working a regular 9–6 job and mostly spend my free time casually gaming after work and on weekends.
Until now, I’ve been using my friend’s laptop for gaming, but he’s moving out next month, so I’ll need my own setup.
Initially, I was planning to buy a laptop, but then I started thinking about building a PC instead. Now I’m confused about which would make more sense for me.
My use case is pretty simple:
- Gaming after work and on weekends
- Mostly casual gaming, not competitive/pro gaming
- Rarely work/office use
- I don’t particularly need a high-end machine
- I’d like something that will last a few years without feeling outdated too quickly
So, what would you recommend in my situation?
Gaming laptop or custom-built PC?
I’m particularly interested in hearing from people who have owned both. What are the real-world advantages/disadvantages of each in terms of:
- Performance for the money
- Upgradeability
- Long-term reliability
- Power consumption
- Maintenance
- Portability
- Overall value
I’m based in India, so pricing and availability here are also factors.
My approximate budget is ₹1.25 Lacs
If you need any other information to give a proper recommendation, feel free to ask. I’d rather provide the details than make a decision based on generic “PC is better” / “laptop is more convenient” advice.
Thanks!
