“People” consistently posting bikes that they don’t own…

Getting lots and lots of posts from a few offenders (some have recently been banned) just spamming the sub with pictures of bikes. (It’s likely that they’re bots but the last one we banned went on to make some really aggressive threats that sounded very human…) Some of them are clearly way out to lunch and got the axe, but some are posting relevant and legitimately cool bikes, but it just feels annoying because they aren’t contributing in the way of any original content.

Mod team is inclined to just start banning people who abuse posting random choppers from the internet, but if the rest of the sub likes seeing these bikes we can also let it slide. I get that people want to maybe share or discuss a cool bike that isn’t theirs, but if your ONLY contribution is consistently posting other people’s stuff we think it should be no warning and straight to ban. What say you?

Regarding BOTPOSTING and non-relevant content.

We've never previously banned anyone but we've banned several people (who were actually probably bots) this week that are just posting random barely chopper-relevant motorcycle content. Please just report all karma farming posts and I'll nix em.

If your neighbor REALLY DOES have a cool chopper or you saw a cool (actual) chopper on the street and you want to post a picture of it, put a little effort into it the post or it's just going to result in a ban.

We get that chopper can have a bit of a flexible definition, but if you're posting about your chopper or someone else's chopper, and it's got rear shocks on it... think long and hard about what you're about to do. We are willing to admit that swingarm choppers exist, but it's certainly not the norm.

Lastly, this is NOT the place for fat-tire, 2000's era OCC bikes. If it's got some weird-ass scoopy rear fender, consider posting it on r/DumpsterDiving

That is all.

Reviews on big brand sites

A little random thing I noticed recently. I’ve bought parts from TC bros, used the product , gave the pros and cons, basically left a honest review about a oil tank venting issue design (3/5 stars), checked back a couple months later review deleted. Only reviews 5/5 praising the product. Whatever… didn’t think too much about it

Checked a different site TA, that my homie left a review, basically noting their hardtail rails weren’t square, I’d agree with that statement as I seen it myself. Just checked again, review deleted 5/5 stars on product.

Idk I think it’s BS the way they are going about this…. I wouldn’t have bought certain products if I knew of the problems with them, I was able to modify everything to work in the end, but for someone who doesn’t have the knowledge to fix it, kinda sucks

I bought this 84 Evo motor from a shop a few months ago and they told me it had completely been rebuilt. I was doing some work and noticed there was only three raggedy bolts in the cover out of the six. Not sure who only puts three bolts in on a rebuild, but who knows. Anyway, I noticed inside the bottom bolt holes there is some oil in there.

Do I just order new bolts and go with it or is this something I should take apart and rebuild?

Electrical Question

Hi, looking for some help on a wiring issue I’m having on an old ironhead. I have a Compufire 20100 ignition (been installed on this bike for a long time before I got it. Long story short, have to rewire the bike, as some wiring had been butchered. The ignition has 4 wires, red, black and two white. I know where the red and black go, not sure about the white ones. Everything I have tried to research shows pink/green wires, or a single white wire. Anybody able to offer any insight?

Hey there, this is my 1986(sorta) chopper that was originally put together by pat kennedy out of Long Beach and then Arizona. It’s been stored at a buddy’s in California and I’m finally bringing it home here to Vegas. I found a chopper place here in town that does DMV stuff and he told me that all the compliance stuff has to be on it to get title transferred and registered. Fender, turn signals, mirrors etc. They rent you a kit that they install and after you get registered they take it back off and you go on your way. You guys ever hear about or do anything like this?

how to re radius fender

Post image

I already saw lowbrows post using 2x4s to shrink the radius. But I’ve yet to find a solution to increase the radius. I have a crown in the middle of the fender when each end of the fender is touching the tire. Would clamping it be a solution? I thought I’d put it in a vice and clamp it that way but my vice jaws aren’t wide enough to do it. I don’t have a bunch of fancy tools!

What do we think this Frankenstein frame is?

I just bought this obviously modified rolling frame. Right side drive. No VIN no title. Previous owner said it had an Evo engine in it but I don’t know whether or not to believe him. Debating hard tailing it but I’m new to this and wouldn’t know enough yet to buy the right kit. Any information or guesses welcomed

For those who have used a belt for their hardtail Sportster, how did you set the tension for the belt? How much deflection? Same amount as factory?

Chopper tank help

Post image
6 Upvotes

I have two questions in the first question is, my tank says it accepts a 1/4 petcock so I purchased a 1/4 petcock and I can only get it to go in like 3 threads without completely cranking down on it.

The next question is the barb on the petcock is a 5/16 and my CV takes a 1/4. Could I use a 1/4 fuel line or should I change the petcock/cv elbow?

How to run old mags on evo sportster?

03 XL1200C

Hello everyone, might be overthinking it a bit but I finally got my hands on some mag wheels for a steal. Chrome, bearings, and seals will come out prior to powder so their current condition isn’t too concerning.

This setup came off of an older bike, and I want to run them on my evo (sportster) chopper. My question is do I bore the axle to run modern closed bearings, do I run the conversion kit, or can I run timken bearings on a factory 3/4 axle? This is my first time and I’m having trouble finding forums/info trails on the internet on what’s best.

Added a photo of the “conversion” kit, old timken to newer sealed setup. Never heard of that until today, anyone running it?

I appreciate any help, thanks 👍🏻

I've been running around on a temporary gas tank for the last 2 months. My paint dude called me this morning to let me know that the final buffing was done & my Wassel was good to go!

Obviously, that was 5 minutes before the A/C went out at work, so I had to fix that fucking thing, then interview 2 new girls for a job opening.

I eventually managed to get round & get it picked up!
