State of the Game · Discussions Blizzcon schedule doesn't look good for D4

Two 45 minute developer updates are scheduled for D4, on the shared main stage (aka the regularly scheduled 1.5hr dev update that occurs before each new season).

Meanwhile Diablo Immortal has its own dedicated stage with a secret event spanning 2 days. (Can you say Immortal 2 launch?)

I don't think we are getting any big reveal we hoped for D4.

There doesn't even appear to be a StarCraft announcement, which is just as disappointing.

State of the Game · Discussions Developers, Please fix The Undercrown

I'm running a Minion Necromancer build and I managed to get my first Undercrown unique quite some time back.

I had noticed that the number of skeleton warriors didn't add up so I went to try and farm another Undercrown and sure enough, it's bugged.

It's suppose to be a flat +4 for Skeleton Warriors AND Skeleton Mages, but right now, it's only giving +2 if the range [15-25%] is below 20 and +3 if it's above 20 but not at the max.

The skeleton mages are not affected, strangely enough.

Questions (other) List of Secret Content in Diablo 4 akin to Ubers in D2?

Upvotes

So might be a strange question, but what exactly is every sort of side-content thing one can do in this game? I know that there's World Bosses/Lair Key Bosses and The Pit/Helltides/Infernal Hordes/Undercity (just grinding locations etc), but I mean what about in terms of actual content like the secret Cow level and Uber/Uber tristram in D2? I know cow level exists in D4 but I'm having a hard time getting a straight answer on everything else from googling.

Warlock Warlock - Dread Claws + Summoner Build

Hey guys, got back to Diablo 4 and building up a Warlock character - I'd like to aim for a Dread Claws / Summoner build.

Any suggestions? I'm finding it hard to find a guide online for such a combo

Barbarian Mythic Seal on a Selig WW Barb

Upvotes

Just snagged my first mythic seal.

Is there any combination of three unique charms that I would want to run instead of the beautiful bonuses from a full Crucible set?

Seems hard to justify giving up the 5-set bonus...which brings into question why the heck mythic seals are so damn rare?!?!

Questions ( ITEMS · BUILDS · SKILLS ) New to the game and very confused

Post image

I'm new to the game (picked it up this season and about 2 weeks ago) and I'm having some trouble understanding everything to do with the pit, the point of a lot of the dungeons, etc. Basically all of the end game content after the story and how to properly build my character, I've watched tutorials and all of them say different things so I'm reaching out here for advice from you, the long lasting people of Sanctuary

What the fuck do I do 😭

Questions (other) Quick question about the classes: I'm new to Diablo 4, but not to Diablo or ARPGs in general.

I played Diablo 4 during Season 1 and came back for this current season, running Barbarian in both. I have a lot of hours in Diablo 2, Diablo 3, Grim Dawn, Torchlight, Path of Exile, Hero Siege other ARPGs, and also WoW. I played all classes and diferent builds.

I'm looking to play with something new next season.

I have a few questions about the classes:

Barbarian: It feels pretty much like the Barbarian from Diablo 2/3/Immortal, just with fancy graphics.

Spiritborn: I assume it has a completely new playstyle that mixes Monk and Witch Doctor, is that right?

Warlock: Is it like the WoW Warlock, with AoE spells, DoTs, and demon summons? Is it just the class adapted for an ARPG? Or does it bring anything genuinely different?

Paladin: Is it the same as the Diablo 2 Paladin with the same builds just with fancy graphics? Or does it bring anything new in Diablo 4?

Necromancer and Sorcerer: I assume they're the same as Paladin, same builds with fancier graphics. Or am I wrong?

Druid: How does it play? Are there any major gameplay changes compared to the Diablo 2 Druid (or even WoW)? It is diferent? New builds?

Rogue: is basically like a bow Demon Hunter / Bowazon, right?

One last thing, it is there any build similar to the Carnevil WD, Marauder DH, or Trapsin from Diablo 2? Basically a pet/turret build that shoots and spams projectiles from range with sumons/pets?

Barbarian How does one complete the rank 3 seasonal objective Complete Nightmare Dungeons with Ruptures affix?

I have completed several of these dungeons on torment 5. I make sure to close 15 rifts and go to the portal room but still when I finish the dungeons it doesn't checkoff. Am I missing something? I tried googling to see if perhaps I had to do it with mastery but so far no luck. Thank You.

Questions (other) How’s D4 for a super casual gamer, and is it necessary to follow a strict build guide?

Hey all! Hopefully this isn’t an irritating question, but I’m sorry if it is.

I’m a very casual gamer - and get EASILY overwhelmed with complex systems. I’ve lowkey…sustained some brain damage, so that might be why LMFAO.

So my question is this; Can I just jump in and play blind - not having to worry about optimizing or following a meta for my character?

For example, say I choose necromancer; can I literally just go with whatever skills look cool? Or even choose the same types of skills (such as bone)?

Lastly, if anyone had any advice for a new player, I’d really appreciate it. I’m not totally sure how this game works, or if it’s too advanced for me.

Thank you !!

Edit: Great HEAVENS!! Thank you all so much for the help!

Questions ( ITEMS · BUILDS · SKILLS ) New to the game, Item/survivability question

Am new to the game started this season about 2/3 weeks ago and decided to play sorc, i've run through the campaigns (all of them) and started doing endgame with a friend (same one who got me into the game) but I feel super squishy. I had thought that maybe it was a class issue but after leveling a few more characters (thank god for exp tomes) the issue persists (this could be skill issue).

I was doing some digging and looking though the various items and guides but it felt like every guide focuses too much on damage but I did come across the "Ring of Jordan" while looking though the list of unique's it looks like it would be a solid defensive and offensive item but i don't see any builds with it or see it recommended anywhere.

Is there perhaps some issue with the item? or maybe it doesn't work the way I'm thinking it would? all in all I am slightly confused as to if its worth grinding for, and am also curious of other ways to help survive endgame content or if i just need to "get good".

edit: ring is the "Stone of Jordan", not sure why I thought it was ring

edit 2: I have been told that the "Stone of Jordan" isnt out yet, that was my mistake

Technical Issues | Bugs Encountered a very weird bug during some Pit runs

I have been encountering something that is sort of a bug... but it doesn't really impact the game much (in fact it gives your rewards,) so I'm not sure if this actually counts as a bug or not, but it is definitely strange.

During some of the pit runs, mostly Pit 100+ ones, the game would suddenly play an audio that says "FRESH" then a bunch of random loot would appear, and the Pit run suddenly ends. Sometimes it happens as soon as the Pit starts. Sometimes it happens much later. It seems completely random.

I still get all the glyph upgrades when a run ends this way, but the final pit boss wouldn't show. Just the game suddenly screams "FRESH" then boom, the protection bubble appears and a bunch of random loot on the floor.

Anyone else encountering this?

Edit: It's the Butcher. He says FRESH MEAT.

State of the Game · Discussions Why are Pits the only endgame activity scaling beyond T12

Obvious answer to this rethorical question is that it's because pit/tower is the only mode with a leaderboard.

However at some point your character becomes strong enough to mindlessly blast through T12. At that point, only Pit/Tower provides a challenge. The question is why does Blizzard not support other endgame modes in a similar way, increasing difficulty and rewards accordingly? Doing so could improve the longevity and fun of the endgame activities.

The fix could be simple: Introduce torment tiers beyond 12 such that the other activities that scale off of the torment level increase in difficulty. Otherwise, a more granular change to each activity would be needed such as e.g. NMD sigils and infernal horde sigils that create a higher tiered dungeon.

With the current power levels being what they are, it seems this change is long overdue. From what I understand the power level in S15 will be comparable to S14 but I don't expect Blizz to make any such changes across the board. Partially this will be implemented in S15 through the Challenge Dungeons but that's too superficial of a change.

Technical Issues | Bugs How to get rid of junk gear on the ground?

Junk gear left on the ground will not self-delete after any type of restart including rebooting the computer. I exit the game and reboot the computer and all the junk I don't want to pick up is still there.

READ THIS: Yes, I exited the game, and yes, I rebooted the computer. All the junk gear still shows up. I am used to just leaving it on the ground but it doesn't go away anymore.

Edit: thanks to the ONE non-incel who actually answered correctly. The rest of you, please don't shoot up your school this year.

Questions ( ITEMS · BUILDS · SKILLS ) Any advice for surviving and leveling hardcore mode?

I've been playing D4 for ages, but I don't think I've ever gotten much further than rank 70. Usually much less than that. The reason is that I refuse to play anything other than hardcore mode. Any sane person would have given up on hardcore builds by now, but I just cannot enjoy this type of game any other way. Without the extra tension that comes with the risk of permadeath, I feel the grind gets really boring very quickly. Any advice for surviving with a hardcore build and leveling it to higher levels?

Saw this guy the other day who was paragon 300 which I don’t see very often and my jaw hit the floor when I saw this….. I didn’t do the math but I assume that’s at-least several hours per day everyday since the season started. I don’t know how yall don’t get burnt out after like 60-100 hours. How many hours do yall usually play each season?

Questions (other) New to diablo 4 and starting season 14, dont know what to do

Hi, the title is quite self explanatory. Im quite new to diablo 4, i completed all the campaing (both DLC's) and now im currently leveling paragon on tempest III difficulty.

The thing is, i feel quite lost on what to do. Right now i was completing some warbands focusing on helltides, undercity and nightmare dungeons, but i feel like its a pletora of things to do (like crafting and farming materials for such thing in the horadric cube) and idk what i should be focusing in.

Also idk if i should be focusing on a specific part of the content or is it better to explore and find all the items and things by myself, and thats another thing: idk what items are worth keeping or if i can actually re-roll more than one stat on the occultist lol.

Some insight would be helpful, at least for the next season thats coming next month. Thanks in advance!!

PD: im playing as a spiritborn and following some builds

Questions ( ITEMS · BUILDS · SKILLS ) Questions for seasonal ranking.

Hi there everyone,

I just recently restarted playing diablo 4 , and made a seasonal character. Im not necessarily a noob (played alot of diablo 2 and 3, and now 4, but they all have their differences) but i feel like im missing some major components (like diablo 3 i had no idea about the transmutor cube for longest time) as to do missions that continue to let me get better loot/ upgrade my season rank. I do not own the dlcs, has this become a requirement to progress in seasons and this “glints of hope” missions ive been doing?

Sorry for all the backround, i guess my main question is , what are the main things i should focus on to get better loot (ik to raise difficulty) and is there any hidden mechanics or specific quest i have to do in order to unlock anything specific necessary for higher levels/difficulties.

Im currently a lvl 62 playing on pentient, but i dont have many legendarys dropping like they did at level 30 , any help would be appreciated!
