Aw, I still got the reflexes!
It was a first for me in over 75 years of riding bicycles! I got run off the road. Not just by someone not paying attention, by a truck!
He could not wait for a car coming the other way to pass us, or to slow down to my 15 mph in a 25 mph school zone. So he chose to pass on a double yellow line with a car approaching. Since I didn't want to A) be involved in a head on collision, or B) get run over by a pair of 20" truck tires, I decided my 'Lectric bike could take to the yard beside the road.
And then, the guy stopped in the middle of the road to back into the driveway to drop off his load. I stopped to take the picture and he yelled at me to keep out of his street. LOL
Now he has done it. He might have gotten away with it had he just apologized. Now, I am out after his job.
Pods.com you got anything to say about truck #461539 on Hill Road in Nashville, TN at 10:05 09/01/2026? The driver had a full gray beard, no glasses, and was over 60, I would guess.

The One Thing I Didn’t Think About Before Buying
I spent so much time comparing motors, batteries, and range that I forgot about something simple: where I was going to keep the bike. Once I got it, I had to figure out storage, charging, and how to keep it secure. It seems obvious now, but I never thought about it before buying. What’s something you wish you had considered before getting your e-bike?

Best bank for your buck suspension seat post?
I find the suspension seat post that came with my bike kinda sticky and not smooth when it bounces
I would like to see if there is a better seat post, however, I would like to keep it under $100. I pretty much only ride paved streets and paths, but most bike greenways in my city have speed bumps. any suggestion?
Ebike troubleshooting Removed my original brakes..
Hey guys, I removed my original brakes on my ebike cause they were trash and installed hydraulic brakes. I noticed my old brakes each had a wire running to the controller. What I did was remove this wire at the handle level and there is a button on each of them. My motor will not engage unless these buttons are pressed down.
Will removing these wires completely break my controller? How do I remedy these tij my new brakes if my new brakes do not have a slot like my old brakes for these wires.
Right now I have taped the buttons down and ziptied all the extra wiring under my frame but this seems like a non elegant fix.
Thanks.

Bike purchase question Tall newbie with no big bike money here
Hello,
I want to get into the e-bike scene, mostly because of the convenience of traveling cheaply and quickly, while looking cool doing it. The problem I have is that my budget is tight, but all the bikes within my budget are too small for me. I am 1.96m (6.4ft) tall, my budget is €2,000-€2 ,500, and I live in Germany (which doesn't have all the bikes available that the US has). I have no problem buying used bikes, i just don't know what to look for when purchasing a used one. For the Germans in here: I want a L1e one so I don't have to register it (I have a B license). If anyone has some tips on what to watch out for when buying used e-bikes and what brands are good for my height and budget, you would help me a bunch. As for the looks, I want a dirt bike-style one, like Surron, etc.
p.s. I heard that it can be cheap to buy a "small" (light bee, etc.) one and upgrade the seat height, maybe that's something I should look for?
Thank you in advance ^^.

My back to uni bike finally turned up
My EB1S finally turned up this week. This will actually be my first time commuting to uni on an e-scooter though. I’ve always used public transport before, so I’m still figuring out the practical side of it. I got it mostly for getting to uni once term starts, so technically I don’t even need it yet. That lasted about a day lol.
I took it out just to “get used to it” and now I’ve somehow been riding it pretty much every day. I mostly stay on the middle assist setting around town and only go up to 15.5 mph when the road is clear. Honestly that already feels like plenty for me. The suspension has also been nice because some of the roads around here are pretty rough. I didn’t think I’d care that much about it, but after a few rides I definitely notice the difference.
For anyone who regularly rides to school/work, anything you wish you knew before you started? Stuff like where you leave it, what you carry with you, rain, locking it up, etc. I feel like there are probably a bunch of little things I haven’t thought about yet.

Ebike troubleshooting Connecting lights to Bosch System 2 Cargo Line
Howdy all, have a friend that’s looking to add lights to his Surly Skidloader. He currently has a Busch + Muller IQ-X for dynamo hub, but was curious to install it on this bike. I’m seeing two options for cables - one for front lights, and one “power supply for third party lights.”
Am I correct in thinking that the power supply would just be for more powerful lights up to 12v such as B+M IQ-X E, and the regular light cable would work for 6v lights like his IQ-X? We also want a rear light, and there’s three ports - assuming two for regular 6v front/rear and one for power supply if we went with a 12v front light? Thanks in advance for your guidance!
Is it worth getting a DIY optioned ebike/gas bike?
Been debating on getting an ebike but some of them are like $2500 for good quality ones which is a bit out of my price range, and at that point I'd rather get a used motorcycle.
But was wondering, I was considering on getting a mongoose bike and getting either a DIY gas or ebike kit but wasn't sure if it might be worth getting or not.
I'm in need for an upgrade, my current ebike both breaks are shot and will require over $400 in repairs so I'm just getting a new bike instead.

Bike purchase question Should I buy a Freego X3 Pro and unlock it or get a Coswheel R19?
I’m trying to find a e-bike that’s fast, reliable, and looks cool that is under 3k. And these are my two favorites so far. I don’t know much about them other than I know how to ride. If you have any other suggestions then please let me know.

Reaching kriptonite customer service
Has anyone had trouble reaching their customer support by phone? I cannot find a number. I called their warranty service by phone but had to leave a message. Still have not been able to talk to a human. Concerned about needing support if I buy their locks.

Would you leave an otherwise good ebike if it doesnt have Bosch motor?
I am not an ebike enthusiast but I have been doing alottt of research in past few week to find myself a good cargo bike within my budget range with good specs and all. I wanna reduce my car dependency and so wanna do most of my trips on bike and also in long terms replace it completely with my car. Also I love riding cycles and I think cargo bike is a great way for me to stick with cycling with my kids and all.
I really liked a long tail bike mainly because it has good components like Gates, Enviolo, Tektro for my everyday use. Also I live in brussels and we dont have alott of proper bike tracks and so I think having built in rear camera and radar + smart turn signals and integration with helmet would make alottt of sense on our roads. I also test rode it and I feel like it was very easy to ride.
My only concern is its motor, which was great during my test ride (100Nm torgue 250 W rated 750 W peak 40hz speed sensor ) But it comes from an anonymous brand. Its not from bosch (I have heard greattt greattt things about bosch) I asked their customer support team and they told me its from some brand called Gobao. They also make motor for Hepha which I have seen around me. But there are not many details I can see from the research.
To be fair, everything else I've seen about so far about bike has made the company seem legit. Their customer support has been responsive, the test ride experience was good, and the reviews online also seem kinda good. So this isn't really a question of bike itself it's more like if I should buy bike with an unfamiliar motor brand (in this price)
Have you used gobao powered bike before? How was it when you used it for a long period of time? If not then do you think it makes sense to buy a 5k bike with a motor from a less known brand? Please help

Ebike troubleshooting Cover for my E-Bike?
Does anyone know of a way to put a cover on the chain of my E-Bike? It's a "Centurion backfire fit e".
My pants keep getting dirty from the chain and get caught in it sometimes too and it already ripped one pair of pants up.
Putting a clip on my pants or folding them up is so annoying...
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. :) thx
