I bought a prebuilt and it doesn’t have WiFi and I need to put it an Ethernet which is what I would do anyways. It doesn’t connect but it’s flashing orange and not even connecting to the internet. Pls help I have changed ports and still it doesn’t work

Apologies if this comes across as a stupid question - I’m no master on how this all works.

First picture is my Openreach connected to the Ethernet socket in my apartment.

Second is the Ethernet then connecting to my router, which works fine. This part isn’t the issue, WiFi works fine, fast Ethernet speeds when I connect up there.

Third picture is my Xbox connected directly to the Ethernet socket downstairs. Doesn’t work. Only connects to WiFi.

Am I being dense or can I not actually do what I’m trying to do? I want to get my Xbox on a wired connection downstairs but it doesn’t seem to work the same way it does with my router. I assumed that as my Openreach was connected to my Ethernet socket, that it meant I could use any Ethernet socket in my house and that would effectively link them all together?

Again apologies if that all sounds dumb, I really don’t know what I’m doing here 😂

Hi, I'm struggling to figure out what cable connects with this internet outlet, a standard RJ45 cable doesn't fit as well as a fibre cable. Does anyone know what kind of adapter I would need or is there just something missing in my outlet? My internet provider isn't useful and keep sending me useless cables

My ethernet in my college dorm is not working so i took off the cover to try to figure out what was wrong. Can anyone tell me what’s wrong and if so how to fix it?

i use ethernet connection and this is speedtest but when i trying to download something no matter where the speed is around 500-1000kb, who knows please help

Olá pessoal, estou com um problema muito chato na minha conexão via cabo e já não sei mais o que tentar. Se alguém puder me dar uma luz, agradeço muito!

O problema principal: A internet do meu PC (Windows 11) via cabo Ethernet (Cat6) cai o tempo todo e de forma totalmente aleatória. Já descartei mau contato, pois posso mexer no cabo e balançar a mesa, ou deixar tudo completamente estático, que a queda ocorre do mesmo jeito.

O detalhe que mais me chama a atenção é que, no momento em que a internet cai, as luzes verde e amarela da porta RJ45 atrás do PC apagam completamente, indicando que o link físico está morrendo.

O detalhe estranho do Diagnóstico: Quando a internet cai e eu rodo o diagnóstico de rede do Windows, ele aponta um erro dizendo que "a hora do sistema pode estar errada". O problema é que, quando vou nas configurações do Windows tentar forçar a sincronização do relógio com o servidor (NTP), ela simplesmente falha e não quer sincronizar de jeito nenhum.

O que eu já tentei (e não resolveu):

• Troquei a conexão para outra porta LAN no roteador.
• Atualizei os drivers da placa de rede de duas formas: usando a busca automática do próprio Windows e baixando o driver mais recente direto do site da fabricante da placa-mãe.
• Descartei mau contato físico do cabo trocando para um novo

Alguém já passou por algo parecido? Será que o chip de rede da minha placa-mãe está morrendo? Ou será que esse erro de não conseguir sincronizar a hora indica algum problema na bateria CMOS que está afetando a rede?

Hasta esta mañana tenía internet apropiadamente, todo en orden. Resulta que tuve que desconectar el cable ethernet de mi PC para probar algo en la laptop de mamá, y al volver a colocar el cable en su lugar, no detecta nada mi PC. Reconoce el dispositivo de internet en administrador de dispositivos, pero al conectarlo no hace nada. Sin conexión, probé en mi laptop y funciona adecuadamente.

Acabo de comprar un adaptador 3.0 a RJ45, y al conectarlo enciende la luz verde 1ms y luego se apaga, aún sin conexión. A alguien que le haya pasado?

Hi everyone, I'm having a problem with my home network and I don't know how to solve it.

I have a Cat6a cable that I bought about 4 years ago connected to my router/modem. It was working perfectly until I did three things: first, I changed my computer case, and I ended up messing with it a lot, which loosened the connector; second, I upgraded from Windows 10 to 11; and third, I replaced my old power supply with a new one.

Well, here's the problem: when downloading something very large for a long time, for example, 250GB+, the internet completely stops working. The router/modem stays on, but there's no internet, neither wired nor Wi-Fi. It only comes back if I turn it off and wait a few seconds before turning it back on. My contracted transmission speed is 80MB/s.

I tested with another cable I have, a normal Cat6, and this problem doesn't occur. Seeing this, I thought the loose connector was the problem, so I replaced it, but the problem persists. Any ideas on what to do? Has anyone else experienced something similar?

I have contracted 120 megabytes and my ethernet cable supports 100 so far everything is fine, when I connect it to the PC I get between 80 and 90 megabytes and the same when I download games or files I keep getting the same megabytes but when it comes to playing any online game an example fortnite (central server) with “8ms” and only open discord that occupies me about 10megas very exaggerated and the fornite nothing more, I’m going terrible the ping is going horrible and with a lot of jerks, I already moved and configured the bandwidth I saw thousands of tutorials and nothing else I don’t know what else to do someone to help me please

Tengo contratados 120 megas y mi cable de ethernet admite 100 hasta ahi todo bien, cuando lo conecto ala PC me llegan entre 80 a 90 megas y igual cuanod descargo juegos o archivos me siguen llegando los mismos megas pero ala hora de jugar cualquier juego online un ejemplo fortnite(servidor central) con “8ms” y solo abierto discord que me ocupa unos 10megas muy exagerado y el fornite nada mas, me va pesimo el ping me va horrible y con monton de tirones, ya movi y configure los ancho de banda vi miles de tutoriales y nada mas no se que mas hacer alguien que me ayude porfavor
