After a disappointing fantasy season in Chicago for DJ Moore and more concussion issues for Olave in New Orleans, it's easy to understand why these players are not being drafted higher. But I believe they are both poised for highly productive seasons.

Chris Olave: At least four concussions now in his career, it makes sense why people are concerned drafting him. But he's now in a much-improved offense under Kellen Moore while developing a strong connection with Tyler Shough. Since the Saints were out of contention all of last year, it's easy to miss that over Olave's last 3 games, he had 9+ targets, 85+ receiving yards, and at least 1 TD in each game. Hoping he could pickup where he left off.

DJ Moore: After finishing as WR30 (0.5ppr) with the Bears, DJ Moore left an offense, where at times, he was forgotten about. And now going to the Bills where he is the no doubt WR1 with arguably the most talented QB in the league. Josh Allen finally has a go to WR with much less drama than Diggs. Moore is definitely in the later part of his career but I am hopeful to see a resurgence this year.

Any other WRs falling off the radar in your leagues?

So my league has been around since 2013 (shoutout to Booze League I guess), and EVERY year picking a draft date turns into the same nonsense: people dicking around and trying to derail the group chat... and somehow three weeks later we still don’t have a date.

I’ve been a software engineer professionally since 2018 and finally had the thought: why am I complaining about this instead of just building the thing??

Sooo I built a little tool called Quorum where everyone can mark availability and vote on league stuff in one place. We used it last night and got 11/12 people to respond within a few hours after getting basically nowhere in the group chat for weeks. The 12th guy was appropriately shamed.

It’s free, open source, no paid tier or anything. I mostly built it because I wanted it for my own league, but figured it might help some of you who are legit panic scheduling last minute drafts this week.

At the end of the day he is a mid round draft pick with a bunch of camp buzz. What is a realistic floor and ceiling? Floor is obviously is that he is a non factor for fantasy. But can he surpass Worthy in the depth chart and be the guy right behind Rice?

Im talking about from a fantasy football perspective not "in real life".

For me in Re-Draft, its probably Turf Toe or maybe Calf Strain as a close 2nd.

If they miss time, you never know for how long. Then they miss a game or two as a "game time decision", return, and get hurt again (halfway through the game).

Or worse, they return and linger the rest of season at 50% effectiveness, eating up a bench spot while being too good to drop...

I know kicker talk isn’t flashy… but I’m seriously tempted to pick up Spencer Shrader and drop Harrison Mevis. Can someone talk me down? (Or encourage me)

Shrader started last season on a ridiculous heater. I get that his major injury can affect this year’s production. Additionally, I think the Colts offense will not reach the same heights. But his consistency and usage last year makes this tantalizing.

Mevis on the other hand is a fine kicker, but his usage was less consistent. I’m afraid that if I stick with the safe option, Shrader could be gone week 2.

I play auction drafts with my friends and it's always a pain to print out sheets and research values and figure out who has what money left and how to play with inflation and all that stuff..

Sooo... what I ended up making is a tool where you enter each sale as it happens, and it re-prices the remaining players in real time while tracking inflation as money is spent, and tells you your max bid to still fill a roster.

It also grades and gives superlatives and simulates the season and playoffs at the end!

Can someone help make a case for snake draft vs auction in a competitive fantasy league? We have a very divided league which I cannot comprehend.

Snake draft feels barbaric now after having an auction draft, not being stuck and unable to pick a player for ~20 picks. Also, the team dynamic make up in auction is much more exciting with far more strategy imo, rather than similar builds and just grabbing a player in each tier in snake.

Is anyone else having these disagreements in their home leagues?

Love, Price, and and Tate are obviously the big 3. Is there anyone that can potentially surpass them?

This isn't breaking news, but it's a fine line between staying current and open-minded to possibilities and overreacting and tilting to blurbs and one-off takes. If you're a simpleton like me, you might place more weight on the most recent things you learn.

Obviously some experts, and simpletons, are drafting all spring and summer. So a lot of early opinions can be based on early drafts, but that information can be outdated by September. More casual home leagues start affecting ADPS and a TE starts going ahead of a WR. Maybe it's not even a new take, but just a crystallized viewpoint made more obvious by the overhyped TE.

Here are some last-minute takes that have helped me in the past:

2024 James Cook - while acknowledging his extremely limited red-zone work to that point, Dwain McFarland said, "I just really like James Cook." 4th round RB1

2021 Mark Andrews - Jason Moore just commented that the value had gotten reasonable enough that he was back in on Mandrews TE1 at TE4 price tag.

2022 Tee Higgins - Dwain and Ian Hartitz clearly stated "Higgins over Kyle Pitts." When I got sniped on Pitts in the 3rd(TE22 in ppg), I knew exactly who to take.

In general it's a slippery slope to adjust your priors in the final days before drafting, even if you're drafting all spring and summer. I got too scared off of Achane last summer off of a minor foot injury and passed up on a falling value. But if you can keep in mind the context of a reasonable outlook, for example, 'drafters are boosting up player X and passing up on player Y', those nuggets can be super helpful in your draft. (As a warning, don't try this on reddit you'll fry your brain with these takes.)

DJ Moore is being ranked as the WR24 on Yahoo and ESPN, WR28 on Underdog. He is going behind players like Luther Burden, Rome Odunze, and Parker Washington to name a few.

Let’s dive into some of these guys. Burden is an advanced metrics darling with tons of talent and draft capital tied to his name (39th pick), he also quite easily passes the eye test.

26% TPRR (11th in NFL)
11.7% 1st downs per route run (12th in NFL)
0.56 FPPR (8th in NFL)

Burden is tied to one of the best offenses in the NFL, with an ascending QB in Caleb Williams. He does have good weapons around him with Odunze and Loveland. We haven’t SEEN the top end production with him, so drafting him at his price tag is assuming he’s capable of doing being a top 24 WR, which he is.

Odunze has capital tied to his game but was considerably worse than Burden in advanced metrics. No one truly knows who will be the #1 target earner between these two guys and Loveland. People are just trying to hit a home run and get Caleb’s #1 option in the mid rounds, which is a great bet to take.

Parker Washington was a heavy target earner late last season and is a security blanket for Trevor Lawerence. Coen has been talking about him in high regards all summer and people see him as an asset due for a big season… but he has considerable competition. Meyers just got paid 60m on 20m annual average. Brian Thomas is a former 1300 yard receiver with the heaviest draft capital of the group. No one really knows who the #1 will be. Everyone has their own pick.

Now, DJ Moore. The oldest WR of the group, who also had average at best metrics last season. Are DJ Moore’s best days behind him at 29 years old? It’s possible. Though, if you watch his tape, he wasn’t slow, he wasn’t struggling to make big catches in big moments, he wasn’t slow out of cuts. He was just completely checked out in an offense that wasn’t making him a priority. DJ Moore just a few years ago was not just a WR1, but a top 6 WR in half ppr with Justin Fields throwing him the ball. He also had 3 straight 1150+ yard seasons on the Panthers with the likes of PJ Walker, Sam Darnold and Baker Mayfield (the bad versions of them lol). Another positive for him is that the Bills gave up a 2nd round pick for Moore while also extending him on a restructured contract.

So DJ Moore is a proven asset across multiple seasons on bad offenses. The Bills have clearly shown throughout the process of acquiring him that they don’t think he’s washed but rather that he will be a huge part of not only this upcoming season but also the new couple of seasons on one of the most explosive offenses we can get our hands on in fantasy football.

We are drafting Josh Allen’s surefire WR1 next to names that either not proven commodities, have significant target competition.. oh and also don’t have Josh Allen.

Everyone is trying to find the next JSN in the mid rounds. Waddle, McConkey, Flowers, Egbuka, DeVonta… but what if we’re overthinking it and it’s DJ Moore

I am not seeing much clarity online about this depth chart battle. Dolphins traded up to get Wright in 2024 but Gordon was second in line last year, and i'm not hearing any different so far. Not sure either has much value as a standalone, and neither going in most redraft leagues, but helpful to get clarity for deeper leagues.

I look at it like this, it’s already a holiday. Pretty much no one’s at work. It’s always the Monday of Opening Kickoff week. Most people will be having their last summer BBQs that day, so why not also have your fantasy draft there too. It just seems like the perfect day to hold Fantasy Drafts to me.
Also, this is a low quality discussion but for some reason I can find the flair for it.

How are we feeling about Chris Godwin this year? Are we going for it as a late round stash and EE banged up? Would we put him in the same tier as guys like Jamo and Watson?

With news of Henderson nursing an injury coming into the season, and Stevenson already considered the lead back to start the year, I am bullish on the 6th year vet.

He's found moderate success on the ground and through receptions his first years in the league, finishing seasons as the RB 11, 27, 28, and 22 the past four years. With another year in Drake Mage's offense, I see Stevenson benefitting greatly from the game script. I think the Patriots will lean on the run heavy to set up play action for AJ Brown, and they are going to face some of the weaker run defenses in the league.

Their division mates were all bottom 6 in rush defense last year, plus games against Chicago, Las Vegas, Minnesota, revamped Steelers.

I'm not saying he's going to be a high end RB, but I've seen drafts where Henderson, Jaylen Warren, Pollard, Brooks go ahead of him, and in my opinion his situation in NE should propel him over those guys.

I've been comparing consensus ADP against market-implied player values - season-long player props and prediction markets, de-vigged into projections for each stat category, then converted to draft value (Value Over Replacement Player) in a standard 12-team PPR league. Where the two disagree is where drafts are won or lost, so here are the biggest gaps right now during draft week.

Players the market says are going too LATE (good value at cost):

• Bucky Irving (TB): ADP 53, market has him a top-30 pick (+25 spots)
• Kyren Williams (LAR): ADP 32, market says late 1st/early 2nd (+21)
• Breece Hall (NYJ): ADP 35, market rank 18 (+17)
• Tyler Warren (IND): ADP 55, market rank 38 (+17)
• Josh Jacobs (GB): ADP 44, market rank 30 (+14). Unclear if/when he'll actually make an appearance, so not reading too much into this one.

Players the market says are going too EARLY (overvalued, paying the hype tax):

• Bhayshul Tuten (JAX): ADP 59, market rank 149 (-90!). The market simply does not believe in the workload the room is drafting.
• Quinshon Judkins (CLE): ADP 52, market rank 77 (-25)
• Kenneth Walker III (KC): ADP 21, market rank 35 (-14)
• D'Andre Swift (CHI): ADP 48, market rank 60 (-12)
• DJ Moore (BUF): ADP 57, market rank 67 (-11)

Method notes:

• Props are de-vigged before converting to projections, so it's what the market actually prices after you strip the margin.
• ADP is a live aggregate of real drafts across the major platforms, not expert ranks.
• VORP means value over a replacement-level starter at the position, which is why RBs dominate both lists - the position is scarce and the market and the room disagree most violently about it.

The Tuten gap is the one I keep staring at. A 90-spot disagreement in week-of-draft season means somebody is very wrong. Who are you siding with?
