Ad Blocker is rolling out in Firefox for iOS
Some of you have been testing Ad Blocker with us over the last few weeks. Thanks for all of your feedback.
We’re now rolling it out globally in Firefox for iOS.Â
It’s off by default. To turn it on, update to the latest version of Firefox, go to Settings > Browsing > Ad Blocker, and toggle on.
A few things to know:
- It blocks many third-party ads and ad-related trackers before they load.
- Under the hood, it uses EasyList with Apple’s WebKit Content Blocker.
- It won’t block every ad. Ads served directly by the site you’re visiting will still appear.
We know a lot of you have been asking for better ad blocking on iOS for a long time. Firefox users on Desktop and Android already have great ad-blocking extensions to choose from. Now there’s also a built-in option on iOS.
Give it a try and tell us what works, what doesn’t, and what you’d like to see improved.
You can share feedback in this thread or on Mozilla Connect.
