Some of you have been testing Ad Blocker with us over the last few weeks. Thanks for all of your feedback.

We’re now rolling it out globally in Firefox for iOS. 

It’s off by default. To turn it on, update to the latest version of Firefox, go to Settings > Browsing > Ad Blocker, and toggle on.

A few things to know:

• It blocks many third-party ads and ad-related trackers before they load.
• Under the hood, it uses EasyList with Apple’s WebKit Content Blocker.
• It won’t block every ad. Ads served directly by the site you’re visiting will still appear.

We know a lot of you have been asking for better ad blocking on iOS for a long time. Firefox users on Desktop and Android already have great ad-blocking extensions to choose from. Now there’s also a built-in option on iOS.

Give it a try and tell us what works, what doesn’t, and what you’d like to see improved.

Seems like every new update i have to set up my home page back again, and again and again. Explain to me why this annoying widget came back to my homepage , and cannot get rid of them. I dont like having to much stuff there . If i wanna check the news, then i go and look for the news or whatever it is. But if dont care about it , theres no reason to shove it down my throat by force it on my homepage. How can i delete all this crap from my homepage ? I want it clean , just weather at top right corner ..like it was before. Disabling "widgets" does not do anything.

UPDATE : Just found out to disable stories you now have to go to general settings. Its really stupid cuz thats basically a "widget" , so why hidding the option on settings instead of...You know what, im done.

I don't like full-screen windows, and I keep some space on the left when I'm using the browser.

Problem is, Firefox 'doesn't like' my screen size, and if I make the window larger (close to the Taskbar, without snipping the window), it keeps forgetting the size when I re-open the browser.

As the figure show (it's the bottom-right part of my screen), the size Firefox tries to force on me would probably suite a 1920*1080 monitor, but not the 1920*1200 of my laptop (although it's a pretty standard size, now).

It doesn't happen on Linux, where Firefox remembers the window size well, but I've having this issue on Windows 11 for quite some time now.

Any thought? Solution?

Recently I have been using PWAs one my MacOS and honestly, this has changed the way I browse the web. I like how they can run as their own sandboxed environments/window and I can quickly open them without needing any bookmarks or without ever opening the main browser client.

I tried to add some websites as PWA using Firefox, but to my surprise, Firefox has apparently no official PWA support on desktop.

Why is it that Chrome, Edge, Brave and Safari have great PWA support but Firefox doesn't? Will this ever change in the future?

I have bad wrists, so I use an XBox adaptive controller while Steam is running for controlling my mouse cursor. It lets me use my feet instead of my hands for mouse controls. Starting today, Firefox randomly decided to start recognizing controller inputs, which is overruling Steam. The result is that the cursor has an obnoxiously slow acceleration when I use Firefox, and only accepts face buttons for clicking (I have shoulder button clicking set up for Steam because for SOME REASON it won't let me map face buttons to anything). I tried typing about:config and disabling everything related to gamepads, but that did nothing. How do I make Firefox stop recognizing my gamepad, or how to I change its settings to match what I have on Steam?

Why is this (new) hover/active state of autocomplete popup items this ugly? It does not respect the border radius of its wrapper element, it has a thick border that you cannot find anywhere else in the browser, hover background color too dark (for my taste)... generally looking strange.

I am not sure if this is the right community for it or not, but it has been happening I think only on Firefox. (I used to use chrome, and I never got this) (I don't think it has been happening the entire time I switched to Firefox either, I think I was able to paste normally before).

Is there a way to turn this grey "paste" box off when I Ctrl+shift+v into a google doc? I like pasting without formatting but it keeps prompting me with this box I have to click, and it's less efficient than just pasting the text into the doc.

As soon as CTRL is pushed the page zooms down. It makes many things I do very difficult. Is this FF or Ubuntu? FF says that settings are controlled by my operating system.

Hey folks, wondering if anyone else has run into this issue. Just recently, my Xbox controller has been acting as a mouse only when tabbed into Firefox.

For reference, I've got a 2 monitor setup. On monitor 1 is a game, and monitor 2 is Firefox. In days past, if I tabbed back into Firefox, my controller would still be locked into the game on the other monitor, letting me do what I want freely and easily switch between displays. Now, if I tab into Firefox, my controller locks into it and starts acting as a mouse, and I lose control of my game.

It's a pretty minor inconvenience, but one I'd like to solve nonetheless. It's not a Steam issue as I've disabled everything I can in there, and it's not an issue with the game. Also, any other app I tab into doesn't cause my controller to lose focus of the game, it's ONLY Firefox that does this. Any ideas?

This happens frequently, and it happens on both my devices. So I reckon its a Firefox Issue or YT issue?

Nothing? I don't want to uninstall and reinstall. There MUST be a simple fix.

Basically anything that loads initially like the video and the first few recommendations will load fine but comments and further recommendations or even further videos when clicking on a channel will keep loading infinitely. I can see the first few videos but whenever anything has to load again on the same page it will keep loading forever. Clearing cache, disabling ublock, and changing the networking http path did nothing to fix this issue. This issue has persisted for weeks at this point so even turning firefox on and off again doesnt do the trick. The issue does not replicate on other browsers and devices. I have absolutely no idea what to do at this point as nothing seems to work and I appear to be the only one on earth with this problem. Does anyone have more ideas?

over the course of the last 6 years, i have tried and experienced many browsers ( some of which are listed below ), but some how I have always, ended up back in team firefox. From the below list, the maximum about of time I have used another browser was edge (6 months) but other than that, still back in firefox.

list of browsers i have tried in no particular order: chrome, firefox, opera, opera gx, vivaldi, zen, waterfox, safari, helium, arc, gnome web, Konqueror, edge, brave

Has anything of this sort happen with any of you all, where you always ended up using firefox as your default browser even when you tried to change.

No browser comes close to how epic firefox is.

I wanted to change that Ctrl+Shift+B default option to just pressing Alt on the about:keyboard page, but it just says invalid if I try do to so. Is there a way to make that work? Not a big problem if that isn't possible though, just asking

Been using Firefox for a good 4 years now I believe and never had any problems until this year.

A few months after getting my current laptop anytime I searched for something, opening up a new page, YouTube, reddit, etc Firefox would go completely white, either for a few seconds or until I shook my cursor within the whiteness. At first this didn't happen too much, but now it's almost constant, and I'm a little afraid it might interfere with my work.

Additionally, this issue becomes worse whenever I open multiple PDF files. I open the first one, browser goes blank for a few seconds. Opon up the second, same thing happens, except now the first PDF is completely black and I can't have more than one open at a time.

I'm not sure what this is or what causes it, anything I've looked up hasn't really helped much, so I'd really be grateful if you guys could help me out.

Hi there, Firefox community!

Recently, a problem has been bugging me since I installed Linux. I have installed MX Linux XFCE, and it has been amazing. Chrome has gotten better, and it is way smoother than Firefox, whether it is surfing through random websites or just opening PDFs and selecting text in them. In Firefox selecting text in a light single-page PDF is laggy somehow. I tried to identify and fix the problem with chatGPT, which it suggested me to open firefox process manager and look for GPU which wasn't there. So it suggested me to set the `layers.gpu-process.enabled` to `true` which was `false` by default. I can see my GPU in `about:support` under the `Graphics` section and `GPU` is present in process manager, but there isn't any difference at all. I should mention that Firefox was installed by default.

One thing that chatGPT mentioned when I gave it my GPU model is that, this poor performance can be because of the old GPU that my laptop has and Firefox just does not support old GPUs well enough.

The poor performance of firefox is not just in viewing PDFs, but also the overall experience is not good compared to Google Chrome and Chromium installed on my laptop.

My GPU model is `AMD Radeon HD 6400M/7400M Series [Discrete]`.

I want to know should I undo the setting that chatGPT suggested since it doesn't do anything and it was `false` by default?

Why chrome is way smoother than Firefox? Is there any problems with Firefox or it is just a bug in my case? If there is a problem how can I fix it?

Hi, looking for an addon or something for Firefox mobile, that skips the signup/"Continue in Web" pages that show when you open a link to Facebook/Twitter/Instagram

Sometimes people send links to videos or shorts on those sites and there's always an extra step to get to the content that should be possible to skip, right?

Something that works for all of the sites above would be great.

I'm using tab groups which I know are in beta, but is there any way to (from a page already in your tab group) open a new tab and have it stay in the tab group? It kind of defeats the purpose when I'm on a research spree and I have to stop and put all the tabs I'm opening in the group, rather than having them just open there automatically.

My school site's bugging me about using something that's not Chrome 143 and I figured Firefox might be a nice change. I haven't figured out how to export all my data such as search history and bookmarks; as far as passwords go I have Bitwarden anyway. Additionally, I haven't seen a firefox extension for Adobe Acrobat specifically, which I need for signing documents. I don't mind taking a more long-winded way to get all my info over, I just don't know where to start with Helium specifically.
