(Global) News Goddess of Victory: Nikke to reduce scale of collaborations

https://x.com/NIKKE_en/status/2093224964459728943

"Plan B will exclude mini-games and 3D fields, feature fewer characters, and include a simplified story similar to an April Fools' Day event."

(They say they'll mostly do just plan B for collabs now)

Looks like even Nikke isn't completely unscathed by the Persona curse.

Tell me a Tale What is the biggest Mistake/Fuck up/Blatantly Wrong Decision or action your Gacha Game's MC has ever made? (or has the potential to make if its a bad end)

I am talking about more blatantly wrong/bad/terrible mistakes and not morally gray ones which had to be done (like say Gudao genociding a LB which is morally gray but had to be done). So more like a bad/wrong decision they made that leads to severe consequences in the story because of their mistake.

General [PROMO] A Blue Archive Retrospective: Youth, Ideals, and the Meaning of Adulthood

Came across this video recently and I was blown away by its quality that I had to share.

This is probably the best Blue Archive video I've watched. It's a love letter to the game's content and characters. The amount of care that went into analyzing the game's writing, characters, and themes is truly astonishing.

It also delves into gacha games and their culture as a whole which i found it insightful and appropriate for this subreddit.

(JP) News Princess Connect Re:Dive reveals Key Visual for its 4th Main Story Arc

Post image
468 Upvotes

Following an eventful conclusion to its third part featuring 104 different endings depending on the heroine you chose, Princess Connect Re:Dive (Priconne, in short) is now moving onto its fourth main story arc changing its setting from the VRMMO "The Legend of Astrum" to the fictional real world Priconne is set in.

The ED for part 3 featured all of the 104 girls + voiced characters during the arc, ending in this beautiful shot of the player character

Revealing a key visual with new allies in Aglaia and Euros the spirits of light and wind, the new enemies seem to be based on the 12 zodiacs and the relative Clan Battle bosses (you can see Sagittarius, Gemini and Aries). New outfits to detail the "Re:Live" gimmick introduced briefly during part 3 that allows the characters to harness the powers they have in the videogame in real life, similar to Sword Art Online Ordinal Scale movie, have also been revealed, for now featuring solely the Gourmet Guild.

Part 4 will begin this Autumn, likely October (Today it was announced they're taking a break in September), close to the much awaited Umamusume collab and the much needed catch up/borrow mechanics announced in the recent half-anniversary. As always Priconne's main story follows a monthly consistent format and is fully voiced so this will mark a new milestone for the game as it begins what might be an entirely new macro story arc within its universe.

General When a gacha makes you choose who to build, when does it feel strategic and when does it just become annoying?

One thing I’ve noticed across gachas is that almost none of them actually let you develop every character you own at the same pace.

Eventually you have to choose.

Maybe you heavily invest in one team while another sits behind. Maybe a new character releases and suddenly the resources you were saving for someone else get redirected. Maybe you have enough materials for one major upgrade but three characters waiting for it.

Personally, I think there’s an interesting decision there if the scarcity is reasonable.

If I can immediately max everyone, roster building loses some of its weight. But if getting one character caught up requires staring at a timer for a week, that doesn’t feel like strategy either.

I’m curious where people here draw that line.

Imagine a game where the long-term goal is building five separate teams of five characters, with different reasons to use each team. Would you rather:

Have your first team very heavily developed while teams 2–5 gradually catch up, or have the game give enough resources to keep almost your entire roster relatively even? And for rare progression materials specifically, which situation feels better?

Having enough for several upgrades at once? Usually having enough for one meaningful choice? Or regularly running completely dry and building toward the next upgrade?

I’m especially interested in games you think handled this really well — or really badly. Not monetization specifically, but the feeling of building an account over months.

Tell me a Tale What are some Gacha Games that successfully completed its Main Story line before End-of-Service (EoS)? Here are some list of games that I know of:

I just completed the up-to-date story for a gacha game I have been following for some years - Sdorica. The developers has made the game to be in indefinite-maintenance-mode. So.. that's EOS but not as bad. At the moment, feeling bummed out but I was wondering what are some other Gachas that have successfully complete their stories and ended on a high note?

General Small rant about comparing each other games

It so annoying to see comparing discourse about how this is better due to voice acting, character design or storytelling every time new patch drop like man just enjoy your game and i start to see that they only fight with specific games i started to think the only way for their game to be relevant is to be compared to others and to me it kind of feels sad.
