Welcome to our regular pinned Megathread!
While many topics are allowed as standalone submissions, others that tend to be lower-effort, less notable, or easily answered belong in this thread instead. These include simple questions such as those related to receiving game assistance, game recommendation requests or help finding a specific game, and other general discussions that don't warrant a dedicated thread or aren't directly related to gacha gaming (provided they are not Banned Content).
Some specific examples of what these megathreads should be used for include:
Generally, anything asking a question or requiring the opinions of others belongs here. We have many veteran Summoners who are happy to share their opinions and answers, or discuss the topics you may be interested in!
If you want to contribute, please first read the request or question thoroughly, before making sure not to recommend something already tried or provide the same advice as a previous comment left in response. Please also reply as neutrally as possible, without bashing games or arguing with others in the community– this is not about winning or losing, but sharing useful information that helps out another member. Replies should include the full names of anything mentioned, as new Summoners may not know what “GI”, “FGO”, or even “F2P” means. Even if they do, it's still helpful so that the results are easily searchable and others who aren't the OP can better follow along.
As a general reminder, both Reddiquette and all of our Subreddit Rules still apply here. Make sure to keep things respectful! Religious or political topics, sharing personal information, and other rule-breaking behavior are banned. Accounts involved in sharing these may be subject to disciplinary action at moderator discretion.
With that said, feel free to discuss whatever here and make acquaintance with your friendly gacha gaming neighbors!

TGS 2026 hits Makuhari Messe Sept 17-21 (30th anniversary, extended to 5 days this year), and the exhibitor list dropped a few weeks back. Noticed a pretty stacked lineup of Korean subculture/gacha titles this year, so figured I'd round them up for anyone tracking what's worth watching.
Fareidolia (formerly "Project RX") — Nexon Games
Made by the Blue Archive dev team (IO Division, RX Studio), led by BA's former PD Cha Min-seo with BA character artist YutokaMizu as AD. You play a center director in a world called "Animashi," managing a group of characters called "Mates" while solving cases. UE5, mix of slice-of-life management and combat. Already showed up at Anime Expo 2026 over the summer.
Astrae Oratio — NCSoft (developed by Dynamis One)
NCSoft is bringing this one under their own name at TGS, which says something about how much weight they're putting behind it. Fantasy RPG, still relatively early in terms of public info compared to the others on this list.
Shangri-La Frontier — Netmarble Neptune
Collectible RPG based on the anime/manga of the same name, launching sometime this year. Given the timing, TGS is probably where we get more concrete release info.
Limbus Company — Project Moon
The one title here that needs no introduction to most of this sub. Been a TGS regular for a while now. Turn-based "sin-resonance RPG" (their own genre label) with a roguelike mirror dungeon mode. Continues the Lobotomy Corp/Library of Ruina universe.
Mabinogi Mobile — Nexon
Already out in Korea since March 2025 (been doing really well DAU-wise too), this is about its Japan launch. Old school nostalgia play for anyone with history with the original Mabinogi.
MIRESI: Invisible Future & Dead Account: Two Blue Flames — Smilegate
Smilegate's doing a double header this year. MIRESI is a collectible RPG with "Hyulla" Kim (NIKKE's AD) on art direction, and this is its second TGS after debuting there last year and hitting AGF and Anime Expo since. Dead Account is the new one, team-based roguelite based on the ongoing Kodansha manga, and this is actually the world premiere for it at this TGS. Both are cross platform on mobile/PC.
Six Korean subculture titles at one show is honestly a lot, even accounting for how many KR publishers usually show up at TGS. Curious which of these people are actually planning to check out in person vs just watching for news, Paradolia and Astrae Oratio seem like the two with the least info out there so far so those might end up having the most to reveal.

Thought of this when I saw the other post about metaslaving vs waifu collecting.
I choose gacha games based on their gameplay so I usually pull meta to make the gameplay experience smoother.
For all gacha games I play, I do have characters that I like more than others be it due to their design / VA / personality / etc. However I never felt the need to pull and play as them if I don't like their gameplay or if I feel they're designed to be underpowered by the devs. If I like the character enough, I usually look up their character story on youtube.
In a way you can say I disassociate my love for a character from the game / gameplay itself.
So my question is: What motivates you to pull for your waifu? To control and walk around as them? To set them as lobby background?

How do you go about these different playstyles? Ive played numerous gachas and some communities heavily enforce the meta and youd be an outlier if you are a casual, and other games have more lenient communities.
I just got hated on in punishing grey raven community for not wanting to obey the meta, which is odd since the rewards are completely participation based, so i was really dumbfounded.
Then you have ZZZ which does reward meta but most ppl i talk to on there dont bother following the meta to full clears.
So, what is your stance? Are you always metachasing, half and half or just there to enjoy the ride?

I think the most obvious "issue" is that the game has been bombarding players with events/banners, combined with the fact that the daily currency income is pretty much non-existent once you've S-cleared all songs in the game, which doesn't take a lot of effort.
From launch up until now there have been four swimsuit events, with a total of 16(!) characters back-to-back-to-back-to-back.
I've noticed a lot of casual / new-to-gacha gamers blowing their honeymoon period currency on one of the beginner banners, and now finding out how stingy this game actually is. Let's explain the gacha first:
The f2p income (I've copied over some information from a thread on the Hololive Dreams subreddit by /u/Ritsuji:
Point Rally (1,200 gems):
Score Challenge (1,050 gems):
Spotlight (2,130 gems):
Achievements give 20 currency per achievement.
During the honeymood period, you 'unlock' members twice a day. After unlocking them, you get a ticket for the standard banner. Seeing how there are 50+ members right now, that's 50 rolls spread out over a month-ish. There are also other one-time-only methods to earn tickets. As of right now though, they have dried up, so there's no real incentive anymore to roll on the standard banner unless you're close to spark.
The paid "income":
Just straight out buying currency (which has a real weird thing going on - for some reason the cheapest pack is the most cost-effective one?):
So if you do the math (or if you read the thread I've linked above), it would take a f2p player about 7-8 months of saving gems until they hit the spark cap (50k diamonds).
It's a rhythm game; not much to say there. I'm no expert on rhythm gacha games so I do not know if Dreams is doing anything special when you compare it to other rhythm games on the market right now. The songs are auto-able, so there's no need to "play" the game for the events if you don't want to.
The minigames are fun though. There are solo mini games and multiplayer minigames, and they recently released a Cops And Robbers type of game which is pretty addicting.
There... is a story, I guess. If you're a fan of Hololive you will definitely notice some characters acting weirdly / out of character, but this game has been in development for over two years now (talents have said on stream they recorded voice lines for this 1.5-2 years ago), so "character" dynamics have changed a lot over that period. If you're not a fan of Hololive then I don't think the story would really interest you.
I saw the stingy-ness coming so I think I spent like 5k gems so far, and I'm only now nearing the spark amount. Like I said at the start, I know people who are not familiar with gachagames who rolled hard at the beginning and are now just burning out from the lack of income. I feel like it will have to change if they want to keep the Western audience attached.
I myself will keep playing until my favorite member gets a rate-up banner, and then I'll see how many currency I have left / if they income has been improved.

*Fleurdelys from Wuthering Waves is the tallest character/model in the game.
*Juza from Horizon Walker stands at a whopping 202cm tall.

Most new gachas lead with the playable cast. You see the characters, pick a favorite, and decide if the game is worth following. The new Monster Hunter Outlanders PV took a different route. Its main reveal was Ruger Aidal, an original Elder Dragon.
Wonder what happens after the first Ruger Aidal clear. Do we keep hunting it for specific parts, build several weapons from its drops, or does it become a weekly boss with capped rewards? Meanwhile, I still can’t name most of the playable cast. I pre-registered today to try it when it comes out.
Curious about how well this approach works for a gacha in the long term. A playable character can carry banners, story updates, and skins. A boss is something players eventually learn and farm. Can a boss be as strong a reason to start a gacha as a character you want to pull? Has another game done this well?

For many reasons, when playing on my phone I prefer to play portrait / vertical games, but they seem such a minority nowadays. I’ve played Grand Summoners for a while, and Last Cloudia for a few years (probably my favorite).
World Flipper was so fun but didn’t last long…
I got burned out from nikke and am now looking for a new game to play but there doesn’t seem to be many options for me anymore.
Dragalia lost never released in my region… and so far Dragon Quest Smash/grow doesn’t seem to be coming out for my region neither.
How many of yall are like me and prefer these sorts of games? do you wish there were more portrait titles?

Thanks to Arcanadea Festival Today, gameplay demo has been revealed regarding the announced gacha game.
Looks to be a 2d auto battler type game (e.g. Priconne, Blue Archive) with multiple waves of enemies.
Release date still not known, but it will likely tie it into the anime that is gonna be released in January next year (2027).

One thing I’ve noticed across gachas is that almost none of them actually let you develop every character you own at the same pace.
Eventually you have to choose.
Maybe you heavily invest in one team while another sits behind. Maybe a new character releases and suddenly the resources you were saving for someone else get redirected. Maybe you have enough materials for one major upgrade but three characters waiting for it.
Personally, I think there’s an interesting decision there if the scarcity is reasonable.
If I can immediately max everyone, roster building loses some of its weight. But if getting one character caught up requires staring at a timer for a week, that doesn’t feel like strategy either.
I’m curious where people here draw that line.
Imagine a game where the long-term goal is building five separate teams of five characters, with different reasons to use each team. Would you rather:
Have your first team very heavily developed while teams 2–5 gradually catch up, or have the game give enough resources to keep almost your entire roster relatively even? And for rare progression materials specifically, which situation feels better?
Having enough for several upgrades at once? Usually having enough for one meaningful choice? Or regularly running completely dry and building toward the next upgrade?
I’m especially interested in games you think handled this really well — or really badly. Not monetization specifically, but the feeling of building an account over months.
