Was super excited to get into this as an avid fan of the serious Sam franchise and boomer shooter genre. To my surprise this was such a letdown and the design trades in everything for a generic roguelike game. Review linked below

I’ve just published my review of Brigador Killers, currently in Early Access.

This one really surprised me. It’s a brutal isometric cyberpunk shooter where you can fight on foot, hijack vehicles, jump into tanks and mechs, and basically turn entire sections of a city into rubble.

The destruction is probably my favorite part. It’s not just visual — destroying buildings and walls can actually change how you approach a fight, open new paths, remove cover, or give you a better line of fire.

The combat is fast, lethal and chaotic, and the combination of infantry combat, vehicles and mechs gives you a lot of freedom in how you tackle missions.

That said, the game is still Early Access, and it shows. The inventory and UI could use quite a bit of work, and some systems aren't explained particularly well. There are also a few visual inconsistencies with the dialogue portraits.

Overall, though, the core gameplay is already in a very strong place.

My score: 8/10

If you're into cyberpunk, isometric shooters, destructive environments or games that let you solve problems with increasingly ridiculous amounts of firepower, Brigador Killers is definitely worth checking out.

What do you guys think of Brigador Killers so far?

I honestly didn't fully understand what this game was trying to tell me at first. I went into it thinking the whole thing was basically post-apocalyptic Japan and there is some kind of Infection Going On, and the Protagonist is Immune to It.

Then came the First Cutscene with Shidou, and the Screen went black and the Game tells us about Blight and that Emma is not only Immune to it, but She can Absorb the Blight of Nushis she kills. Okay... Great Going... Humanity's Last Hope has got Some Secrets

But then the story started getting complicated.. Shambhala. Consciousness. Synthetic bodies. The Beast. Nanotechnology. Not revealed at once, but in Stages. And I started Getting Confused. Wait... Whaaat?

And as Brad's dead, and his Recordings connect a major piece, suddenly "reincarnation" started feeling less like a traditional spiritual concept and more like humanity trying to transfer consciousness between bodies, with the help of an AI and Nanobots, that has supposedly gone Rogue and become the Beast.

After that, I it was so much information Overload that I Gave up on Understanding the Story... Emma is Supposedly a Vessel, for the Elder Humans, who can not tolerate Blight, and that's why they developed her synthetic body, which has finished off enough Nushis, and now its ready to become the Host of the Elder..... Okay

Then what's the Oracle herself doing inside Emma's Body? If the Elder takes on Emma as a host, what happens to Violet? On the Other Hand, Beast of Reincarnation is also waiting for the Perfect Vessel. What happens when Emma Beats the Final Boss? What does Koo Carry to that Underground Medical Pod - Was it Emma's Spirit? Or Was it Violet's Spirit? Or Was it Nanobots?

My Brain is totally Fried. Felt more complicated than Inception!!!

Did anyone else get this feeling while playing? Or am I completely overthinking it?
