It doesn't prove direct route to Europe, but it gives us another piece of evidence for how connected these regions may have been before the Silk Road became the better-known trade network.

I graduated in 2023 with a BA in geography (with an emphasis on environmental studies) and I love that I have it. Like in genuinely happy I studied something I wanted to and had a fun university experience.

And since I have become a museum worker, city employee substitute teacher and most recently a private adult ESL instructor.

I’m actually studying for my masters in linguistics right now and focusing on second language acquisition.

But I owe it all to being 19 and thinking “I really like learning about countries” and doing that for 4 years. It’s actually set me apart from other applications (especially when I was a museum archivist) because the obscurity of the degree allows you to just mention what relevant experience and courses you took (within the geographic discipline) to best fit the job you’re apply for. Like for the company I used to teach English for I’d lay into the human geography classes I took and when working with my local city I’d lay into my water table studies and urban design courses, and for the museum I work at I’d also just lay into the anthropology courses I took and also human geography and physical geography.

(Also I used it to become a substitute teacher and I sub a lot of history and English classes. But to get a substitute teachers permit in my state, CA (USA) you just need a bachelors in literally anything so I don’t think it being in geography was a huge factor in that regard)

I was wondering,is the current climatic stress in the north in any way related to desertification? Precisely,is the Sahara always going to remain under the Atlas mountains and the Mediterranean or is it expected to shift its way up north? And also are the climatic shifts in the Mediterranean (hot weather in France and Spain and Italy and drying rivers in Austria and Hungary and Croatia and whatnot) related to desertification in anyway?

Hello everyone, I recently finished this detailed map of the Korean Peninsula and wanted to share. Includes provincial breakdowns, major cities/towns, mountains with elevations, transport links, land cover, nuclear facilities, and both national anthems at the bottom.

I found these crescent-shaped shapes on Google Earth in eastern Tamil Nadu, India, east of Karaikudi and north of Rama Setu. To my eye, they initially looked like barchan dunes, but they're lakes! I've never seen lakes like these before.
