I was looking up what a 9 month old GS looks like and she's just looks so small compared to them. The vet said her age was right and they say she's healthy but she's so small😭

Where any of your guys German shepherds this small at nine months?

Hi everyone, looking for some thoughts or similar experiences. I have a 1-year-3-month-old intact male German Shepherd. He’s a great dog and goes to training every week. Early on, he had allergies and would occasionally growl if touched in certain spots. But once we started Cytopoint shots, that pretty much stopped. Lately though, if we pet certain areas around his stomach or legs, he growls, and then immediately acts apologetic. Ears back, leaning on us. The only other change is we’ve started giving him raw bones, and eventually we take those away, but we always try to trade or do it outside. Has anyone dealt with something similar? Does this sound like discomfort, resource guarding, hormones, or something else?

My German shepherds(4M, 3M) love to destroy stuffed animals.

So much so that it’s gotten expensive buying them continuously. I’ve resorted to sacrificing my kids old stuffed animals to them. My daughters are in high school and college and don’t care at all about their old stuffed animals.

I make sure they don’t have beads or anything they can swallow before throwing it to them. They rip to shreds at least one a day.

Is this a good idea and does anyone else do this?

I have a German Shepherd that is about to turn 10 months old. He is growing rapidly but lacks emotional stability. He suffers from anxiety, struggles to calm down, and likes to jump on people and try to nip at their hands. He doesn't do this out of aggression—it's just play—but it’s starting to become a bit dangerous. I don't trust him off-leash because he lacks self-control and even struggles to obey me. Although I take good care of him—training him daily, playing fetch, and taking him for walks—the situation has reached a point where I can no longer handle him on my own, so I’d like to know what can i do. He spends most of his time alone; I interact with him twice a day during our walks, and the rest of the time he stays in a fenced-in yard that is large enough for him. He has toys to bite and a big dog house for him.

It’s not a matter if he can. He clears the couch, the beds, pretty much anything he can jump. But he won’t jump in the car. He did it once but now he wants me to pick him up. He’s gotten too heavy for me to do it. I have tried throwing treats in and toys. What else can I do? He loves car rides so I need him to jump in.

I have an incling my boy is mixed with a king shepherd instead of 100% pure german (i could be wrong). We got him from the shelter 2.5 years ago.

He's on the bigger side, has a decent amount of thick fur and doesnt have the arched back most german shepherds are known for. (Pay no attention to his floppy ear. It was the result of an injury instead of genes).

Im curious to see what others look like that might be mixed with kings!

The goodest boy. Professional poop manufacturer. Occasional poop connoisseur. Destroyer of clothes, slippers, rugs and household peace. A permanently leaking pee fountain with absolutely no respect for property boundaries. Equipped with enormous paws, malfunctioning ears, unlimited fur, questionable dietary choices and the innocent face of someone who has definitely done nothing wrong. 🐺💩

His current activities include:

Eat → pee → attack cloth → poop → investigate poop → sprint randomly → dig soil → demand affection → collapse dramatically → repeat.

He’s adorable and his temperament is excellent except for the teething phase part. 🙃 absolute land shark.

QUESTION:
WHEN DOES THE POOP EATING PHASE STOP??!!

I have a six month GSD with a sensitive stomach. Her vet has prescribed Hill’s prescription I/D kibble that has helped but is very expensive. I went to Tractor Supply (US-TX) today to look for Hills Brand OTC as well as Purina Pro but neither one of them had the sensitive stomach for puppies. Any suggestions?

my big boy is constantly itching. i feel so bad. not sure if its environmental at this point but i need some help!!!

yes, we have a vet appointment set for next week. yes, we have eliminated chicken from his diet. yes, we bathe him regularly with gentle shampoos and conditioners + brush his coat 3x a week. yes, he is on bravecto.

i did some research and cytpoint and apoquel are recommended. how legitimately do you recommend them? any other recommendations???

i also wonder if just this state is just terrible for his skin. we live in socal. we moved to las vegas for 2 years and his skin was perfect and no itching. a week after we moved back to socal, the itching came right back.
