I have a German Shepherd that is about to turn 10 months old. He is growing rapidly but lacks emotional stability. He suffers from anxiety, struggles to calm down, and likes to jump on people and try to nip at their hands. He doesn't do this out of aggression—it's just play—but it’s starting to become a bit dangerous. I don't trust him off-leash because he lacks self-control and even struggles to obey me. Although I take good care of him—training him daily, playing fetch, and taking him for walks—the situation has reached a point where I can no longer handle him on my own, so I’d like to know what can i do. He spends most of his time alone; I interact with him twice a day during our walks, and the rest of the time he stays in a fenced-in yard that is large enough for him.

My baby boy is about to turn 5. I posted here 4 years ago and wanted to rejoin the community

Everyday I gotta go to work I say "gotta go to work buddy I love you so much" and he cries and pouts. Even when my girlfriend gets home he just looks depressed until I get home.

When we lost Molly back in April, our house was so empty and quiet. We are back to the puppy chaos and so in love with her!

I wish I could experience a nap like this. She even has crusted drool on the side of her mouth 😂

It’s not a matter if he can. He clears the couch, the beds, pretty much anything he can jump. But he won’t jump in the car. He did it once but now he wants me to pick him up. He’s gotten too heavy for me to do it. I have tried throwing treats in and toys. What else can I do? He loves car rides so I need him to jump in.

She turned 1 today. I’m pretty sure I could’ve cloned 365 more of her with the fur I brush off daily. Not 100% GSD, but is 100% land shark.

I have an incling my boy is mixed with a king shepherd instead of 100% pure german (i could be wrong). We got him from the shelter 2.5 years ago.

He's on the bigger side, has a decent amount of thick fur and doesnt have the arched back most german shepherds are known for. (Pay no attention to his floppy ear. It was the result of an injury instead of genes).

Im curious to see what others look like that might be mixed with kings!

Anyone else’s shepherd like to come over to them after they finish eating look at them all cute, and then burp right in their face? Every meal. Burp in my face. Shes healthy and I restrict activity after meals for an hour. I just think it’s silly and wanted to know if anyone else is gifted “shepherd burps”.

Hi everyone! Some of you have seen my post about my foster to adopt puppy! Good news is, we are best friends and I wouldn’t trade him for the world. Here’s the thing: we don’t truly know how old he is. I’m not good at age determination. All of my other GSD’s we all knew when they were born. I don’t trust the shelter’s estimate because they also said he was a collie. Can anyone help give me a roundabout age so I can tailor my care around his needs at the time? Right now we’re working on basic commands and he’s learning quickly. Any help would be appreciated. Also if anyone can guess what he’s mixed with before I get a genetic test, that’d be cool too

My German shepherds(4M, 3M) love to destroy stuffed animals.

So much so that it’s gotten expensive buying them continuously. I’ve resorted to sacrificing my kids old stuffed animals to them. My daughters are in high school and college and don’t care at all about their old stuffed animals.

I make sure they don’t have beads or anything they can swallow before throwing it to them. They rip to shreds at least one a day.

Is this a good idea and does anyone else do this?
